The spoiler thread runs for around a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g . It doesn't sound promising from the DM spoiler. The RT one sounds fine.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary March 17th – 22nd March 2024
The silent man of Ambridge gets his voice back. Two years after the death of Graham Blockey, the character he played, Robert Snell, speaks again, now voiced by Michael Bertenshaw. And he's complaining about B&B customers.
Chris has frustrations of his own with cricket team selection, Justin offers Stella a conflicting opportunity and George tries to prove Bartleby is the oldest horse in the world.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine 17th – 22nd March 2024
Robert Snell (played from today by Michael Bertenshaw) has tricky guests to deal with as he makes breakfast under the critical eye of his wife, Lynda, and the cricket team is recruiting.

(Bartleby isn't a horse; he's a pony.)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/03/2024 21:22

Thanks, Asking! I assume Justin and Lilian are going to see Brian and Miranda at the ball.

WhoppingBigBackside · 16/03/2024 21:22

Thanks Asking. Can't miss tomorrow if Robert is on it.
A pony is a horse; both are from the same species, but a pony is under a specific height, in the UK 14.2 hands at the withers.

I agree, Gasp.

Justin's going to offer Stella a job managing an estate somewhere far, far away, and she'll discuss it with TWFL. I hope that TWFL couple and Fat Rosie go for a very long time.

JanglyBeads · 16/03/2024 21:24

Oo Justin and Stella. Let's hope we find some it more about their past.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/03/2024 22:31

A pony is a horse; both are from the same species, but a pony is under a specific height, in the UK 14.2 hands at the withers.

The reason I was making the distinction is that ponies tend to be longer-lived than horses, so Bartleby might be remarkably long-lived for a horse but not so much so for a pony.

WhoppingBigBackside · 17/03/2024 11:17

Good point, @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime . How old is Bartleby?

WhoppingBigBackside · 17/03/2024 11:52

Thanks. I was under the impression that he was quite old then. Just how many hours of my life have I spent listening to TA or posting and talking about it?

Bruisername · 17/03/2024 12:21

I see oldest pony on record died at 56. So bartleby would have to have been at least 34 when he joined the family

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/03/2024 13:35

WhoppingBigBackside · 17/03/2024 11:17

Good point, @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime . How old is Bartleby?

He was too old to work when Shula got him from his owners, who no longer wanted him because he was too old, and lent him to Joe to cheer him up a bit, back in 2002 I think. So he'd probably have been well over twenty then. Other than that we don't know.

WhoppingBigBackside · 17/03/2024 13:56

Thanks. I had no idea he was still alive. Presumably he lives at Grange Farm.

CaptainMyCaptain · 23/03/2024 08:55

I dreamed I was reading the Spoilers and ... Fat Rosie died! 😱

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 23/03/2024 09:20

Hmm … I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, even fictional. Even Pip.

But it’s true Rosie doesn’t seem terribly real; maybe because she has the wrong name (several wrong names strung unmellifluously together), or maybe because as yet she’s just an accessory to Pip’s story. She isn’t terribly satisfactory as a character, whereas Jack and Martha, for instance, are already full of narrative potential.

CaptainMyCaptain · 23/03/2024 10:01

I don't know which is worse dreaming that happened or dreaming about The Archers.

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/03/2024 15:16

I dream about MN sometimes. Usually S&B - is this bobble hat beanie frumpy? Grin It's quite chilly here today.

Hannah would be quite frumpy IMO.

Mrs Cromwell and Mr Murray lack first names, which makes them sound like schoolteachers to me. This means they won't be!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/03/2024 16:56

Mustardland was wondering if Harrison will appear before a panel, and they're the panellists. Or possibly new guests at Ambridge Hall.

Bad news for Harry... but no Alice?!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/03/2024 17:42

Alice is in both weeks after Easter. Presumably she's going to get sucked back into Harry's life when he finds out he's got an incurable ingrown toenail, or whatever it turns out to be.

OP posts:
RegimentalSturgeon · 23/03/2024 17:51

an incurable ingrown toenail, or whatever it turns out to be.

It’s no laughing matter. There needs to be more understanding and de stigmatisation of this debilitating condition. I’m a sufferer myself 😡

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/03/2024 17:55

So am I, lifelong. Never got the VIP treatment accorded to Sybil Fawlty, though, who got to stay in hospital as an in-patient when she needed an operation on hers.

ZadocPDederick · 24/03/2024 23:07

Bartleby is inevitably going to snuff it just at the point when George thinks he will earn them all a fortune.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/03/2024 08:07

Nothing against Bartleby, but bring it on!
