Thanks both.

So, Adam makes a cock-up and Brine tries to shift the blame.
Joy innocently defiles Lee's toy collection by letting TheBoyz play with them. Lee casts off his mild-mannered physio persona, bludgeons Joy to death and buries her under the patio.

ppeatfruit · 13/06/2021 09:37

Thanks Asking and Gasp I was wondering if Joy innocently assumes that Lee is the boys' Dad . Oops Grin

I may have missed the relevant conversation of course.

ILoveShula · 13/06/2021 14:31

Thanks Asking and Gasp

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 13/06/2021 15:04

OK; a quick squizz at the Radio Times while I was out finding some tomatoes indicates that on Thursday, which always used to give the credits for the whole week, they admit to

Writers: Caroline Harrington & Adrian Flynn
Directors: Peter Leslie Wild & Kim Greengrass
Editor: Jeremy Howe
Brian Aldridge: Charles Collingwood
Phoebe Aldridge: Lucy Morris
Helen Archer: Louiza Patikas
Lilian Bellamy: Sunny Ormonde
Lee Bryce: Ryan Early

which is nothing like enough actors for the spoilers, but that's all they had.

Going by the spoilers, I would add at least
Susan Carter: Charlotte Martin
Joy Horville: Jakie Lye
Jim Lloyd: John Rowe
Adam Macy: Andrew Wincott
Jazzer McCreary: Ryan Kelly
Kirsty Miller: Annabelle Dowler
Lynda Snell: Carole Boyd
Peggy Woolley: June Spencer

and possibly two more.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 15/06/2021 12:28

And now the BBC website has the credits up, I find that the people mentioned in the one-liners are not necessarily in the cast, because for

Mon 14/6/2021, Tue 15/6/2021, Wed 16/6/2021, Thu 17/6/2021
that gives

Thanks Asking I listened last evening and once again we have to have DRAMA i'm fed up with it. I don't need miserable Adam being MORE miserable !

ILoveShula · 18/06/2021 08:25

It was about time. Adam is in his 50s, FGS.

Zzelda · 18/06/2021 15:05

Lots of hints about Lily in the one-liners for a couple of weeks ahead. Please, let it be the beginning of the end of CallMeRuss.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/06/2021 14:30

The week in store comes over as being a bit "more of the same" in some ways. No Lily, No Russ, no Elizabeth, no Vince...

BBC One-Liners
21 June - Lee struggles to keep a secret and Shula faces a potentially tricky situation
22 June - Brian attempts to keep the peace and the Grundy’s hatch a plan
23 June - Rex issues a warning and Neil comes to an arrangement
24 June - Alistair raises concerns and Justin digs for dirt

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 21st - 24th June 2021
Alice is once again the focus of the week’s drama, when she turns up at the stables and makes a potentially dangerous request. Her plan leaves Shula with a difficult situation to deal with, while Alistair also raises concerns.
Already struggling under the weight of his secret, things become even messier for Adam when a friend is put under pressure to lie for him. With Ian making plans for their future, will Adam dig himself an even bigger hole?
At Ambridge View, Chris and Martha’s presence continues to be a strain, while over at Grange Farm, Eddie’s limo is proving to be a drain on the family’s finances - until someone spots a golden opportunity.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 21st - 24th June 2021 Ears are twitching and eyes are rolling as Alice trots up to the stables. The horses sense danger - and with good reason. Alice has a request that will put Shula in a tricky situation, and make Alistair very nervous indeed. These are edgy days in Ambridge, and even the usually stoic Adam buckles under the strain of his own dark secrets. Things are no easier over at Ambridge View, where Susan - yet again - has to find stable room for one of her children going through a marriage crisis. Meanwhile, Lynda takes on the role of peacemaker, Justin ferrets around for information, Eddie’s limousine puts a strain on the Grundys, and one villager gets an offer that cannot be refused.

I don't know who they mean by "the usually stoic Adam"; the one I hear on the radio is a bad-tempered, sulky brat who screams his head off about anything even the least bit unfair on him -- like the weather, for instance, or someone unkindly not apologising to Adam for Adam having stolen five grand...

Zzelda · 19/06/2021 22:37

So Adam doesn't dare tell Ian that he's burned his boats job-wise. How tedious.

ppeatfruit · 20/06/2021 14:27

Thanks Asking and goodbye everyone I'm fed up with TA Sad

ILoveShula · 20/06/2021 15:12

Thanks Asking.

And here we go again, on a completely different tack once more. Talking of continuity as we weren't really.

BBC One-Liners
28 June Lily regrets her actions and Vince makes his presence felt.
29 June Rex offers a shoulder and Freddie comes to the rescue.
30 June Elizabeth receives a surprising visitor and Lily has a confession to make.
1 July Russ unveils a surprise and Elizabeth is honest about her feelings.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 28th June - 1st July 2021
Lily's actions have resulted in a huge moral dilemma at Lower Loxley. She's adamant that the truth needs to be told, but when she confides in Rex, he points out that she may be digging an even bigger hole for herself by being honest. As the pressure mounts throughout the week, will Lily admit what she's done - and face the consequences if she does?
Elsewhere, Vince and Elizabeth's holiday plans go awry, which results in the go-getting Mr Casey descending on the family for a week. And he isn't the only unexpected person on the guest list. Finally, Freddie comes to the rescue while Russ springs a surprise.....will it be one that people want to hear?

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 28th June - 1st July 2021
This week our attention is drawn, rather heavy-handedly, towards Lower Loxley. Peacocks parade on the stone steps, topiary throws long shadows over manicured lawns, and ancient windows, currently out of reach of Alice, twinkle in the summer sun. A casual glance might make you think that peace and order reign in the neoclassical style drawing room and library - but this is Ambridge, so you would be wrong.
Lily brings a huge moral dilemma to the Pargetter family seat, while Vince makes himself too much at home, Russ springs a surprise, and an unexpected family member turns up.
But why all these Loxley diversion tactics, you might ask? Is it to give us a break from Aldridge misery, or is this distraction just a cover for more Alice-related dramas?

===========================================================================

If Chris, Neil, Susan, Emma, Ed, Brian, Jennifer, Adam, Kate and Alice are not in the cast, it's hard to see how there could be any Alice dramas, really.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/06/2021 06:04

Thanks, Asking! Hmm. Mrs Casey? Mother or ex? I remember Susan Jameson from When The Boat Comes In, decades ago.

OP posts:
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/06/2021 11:39

Going by the age of the actor I would think mother. Susan Jameson was born on 13th August, 1941.

ILoveShula · 27/06/2021 13:38

Thanks Asking

MayIDestroyYou · 28/06/2021 08:50

Whatever can Lily have done that we haven't heard about? Confused

Her bad decisions have been Russ, and screwing up her university life. The teasers don't suggest pregnancy ... It would be very un-Archers for her to have precipitated something we aren't aware of. And the pigs don't cause any new moral dilemma.

But who are Paul and Sol? Has she secretly adopted them and stored them in a distant barn?

ILoveShula · 28/06/2021 08:58

Paul is played by the Rex actor?

Maybe she's Errbnb'd the apartment at LL.

MayIDestroyYou · 29/06/2021 21:14

I've thought about it, and - coming straight from the KCL Greek Play on YouTube - I've concluded that Paul must be Matt's deceased brother. Although quite what he'd be doing at LL I have no idea.

It's very closely focussed this week, no? Tiny cast and, it would appear, only one location. (Apart from Sol's bedroom at the start of the week.) They should do this more often, it's stunningly effective.

Someone asked on the other thread if Vince was about to be dedded. That would be a reason for his Ma to turn up - though I sincerely hope it won't be so!

ILoveShula · 30/06/2021 14:32

The groaning pipes are either a squatter or Nigel/Julia/Great Uncle Rupert's ghost.

ILoveShula · 30/06/2021 15:02

And I think that both CMR and Mince are going to be popping the question soon.

The noise upstairs might be a squatter. Alish and her empty vodka and Lower Loxley Estate wine bottle collection.

Wasn't there some talk of loose guttering?

MayIDestroyYou · 30/06/2021 15:27

Well, the pipes might just be the means by which Elizabeth and Vince end up in the Bridal Suite. Perfect place for a proposal.

D'you really think the SWs are up to a double proposal in a single 12 and a half minute episode??

ILoveShula · 30/06/2021 19:01

Yes. Both will say No.

ILoveShula · 01/07/2021 12:27

I hope.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/07/2021 16:49

There is a certain amount of "predictable" about this week, somehow.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 5th - 8th July 2021
Peggy may have been perspicacious where Alice's alcoholism was concerned, but her decision to stay silent for so long has earned her the ire of many family members. The latest to vent spleen is Kate, who's furious with her grandmother after discovering all.
Later in the week, the day finally arrives for Alice to enter rehab, but Brian finds he may have to sink to new depths to get his daughter to accept the help she so desperately needs.
Elsewhere, Lynda's ideas for the upcoming summer fete are usurped by the force of nature that is Joy. Plus, Eddie is forced to relive a painful memory to support a friend, but will his advice pay off?
