According to tonight's programme, Gary and Brad were sharing. It's obviously a larger room because Chelsea wants it now.

ILoveShula · 30/05/2022 19:42

Yes. The Horrobins aren't Ambridge royalty so the bedroom fairy can't help.

Dashdotdotdash · 30/05/2022 22:31

Archers fans, take note: this is when the soap returns to its full complement of 6 episodes each week. So, once again, we can spend 15 minutes of our Friday evenings in Ambridge.

After all these years, hasn't the Mail noticed that it's 13 minutes per episode?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 30/05/2022 22:53

They are probably deceived by all the continuity announcers, after the news and just before TA theme tune starts, saying "and in fifteen minutes we shall be hearing x or y" when what they mean is "at quarter past we'll be hearing x or y".

TottersBlankly · 02/06/2022 08:18

Notwithstanding her Twitter tease there isn’t a single reason why Julianne should find herself in Ambridge over the Jubilee weekend - so I’m trusting she’ll only be on the phone, pleading for her paramour’s company. (Via threat of withdrawal of funds. Though it’s a mystery to me why Brian’s only natural son would ever feel the need for more money than he might come by legitimately.)

WhoppingBigBackside · 02/06/2022 11:29

Maybe Julianne will turn up only for Brian to realise that she is his love child from a pre-Jennydarling relationship

ILoveShula · 03/06/2022 10:07

Had a look at the episode guide and Brian will still be around next week. Phew!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2022 10:16

Could be a pre-recorded message 'to be played in the event of my death'. OK, not very likely, but I'm not going to count my chickens.

OP posts:
TottersBlankly · 03/06/2022 10:34

I looked. It would have to be an awfully complicated and fragmentary message!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2022 15:54

Consumed with worry for Brian Blush, I've taken the liberty of adding all the spoilers from the BBC website for the next three weeks. Very much hoping that Asking can add the RT, DM etc as normal. They seem to have access to more than we do, or maybe they're just very good guessers.

No Jennifer? How odd.

Are we all sitting comfortably?

WhoppingBigBackside · 03/06/2022 19:12

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g . No Jennydarling? Hope she is ok. June Spencer's birthday is in a few days

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/06/2022 16:58

Thanks for the posting, Gaspode! I took yesterday off to go for a picnic and get drunk, so I missed Brian having survived; I realised that I didn't think he would die on the day of the Queen's platinum jubilee, so finding out whatever had actually happened could wait.

Anyway, here are the RT and DM spoilers for next week; I think the BBC deliberately haven't mentioned Brian being ill in the "release" they give out.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 5th - 10th June 2022
The world seems off kilter now that Jazzer is finding himself unable to communicate with "the Prof", aka Jim. Yes, it's an odd-couple friendship, but one that really works. So, for them to be at odds is disconcerting. And Jim isn't the only one with whom Jazzer is tense, as it's not exactly sounding all that rosy where Tracy is concerned, either.
Elsewhere, Ambridge's community picnic kicks off with plenty of games on the agenda. But who will pick up the Unsung Hero award? Finally, Tom and Natasha are getting ready to move into Kathy's old place, Willow Cottage. And the help that's on offer from Tom's family soon proves to be a welcome distraction from recent business worries.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 45h - 10th June 2022
Vince has become a bit of a fixture at Brookfield, which may come as a relief to some of us. The sound of his car screeching to a half outside an Ambridge home, followed by a hammering at the front door and the sight of Mr Casey dancing up and down on the door step, has become a bit of a blight on village life.
While Vince enjoys the plumbing of the Archers' family seat, Tom and Natasha start packing for their move to April Cottage, where former owner Kathy was so happy that she disappeared from village life for years, then emerged as a giant rabbit.
The community picnic gets under way this week, bringing much alfresco larking about; it's best to keep an eye on Vince before you choose your spot.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/06/2022 17:42

Incidentally, I think they are on a slow burn runup to Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in September; all this stuff about Vince needed a pee all the time. For our next hint, we will probably be told the sad story f his sister or aunt who died of breast cancer.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/06/2022 18:14

I think you're probably right about that, Asking. Thanks for the RT and DM previews!

Would it work if Jim invited Tracey and the children to live in his house and pay rent? Spatially I mean. A bit like old bachelor Frodo living for a while with Sam Gamgee and his growing family at the end! (I hope that actually happened and wasn't just a dream I had.) Does Alistair live there as well as Jazzer? So they would only need two spare rooms for the children. Then Jim and Jazzer could live happily ever after too.

Greenacres, a bungalow, had two bedrooms until Jim paid to have a third added for Jazzer. So no, there wouldn't be rooms for Jim, Alistair, Jazzer, Tracy, Chelsea and Brad, and apart from Jazzer and Tracy they definitely wouldn't want to share.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/06/2022 21:12

And yes, when Sam (who had been living in Bag End so he could look after Frodo) was hesitating about marrying Rosie because he didn't want to leave Frodo alone, Frodo said that was an easy problem to solve, and invited them both to come and live in Bag End. Their children were born there, or at least I assume they were!

FlosCampi · 04/06/2022 22:45

Hurray thanks @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime , should your name actually be Answering Q A T T?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/06/2022 10:14

Bert Horrobin is still alive, isn't he? So that's another one, and Gary may return at some point. Who's the fourth brother? Clive is presumably still in prison, Keith is probably out now.

OP posts:
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/06/2022 11:22

The Horrobins were father, Bert, mother, Ivy, children, Susan, Keith, Stewart, Gary, Tracy and Clive. Children born between Susan in October 1963 and Clive in November 1972. Poor Ivy!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/06/2022 11:23

Nope, I am wrong; Tracy was the youngest, born in 1975. Still poor Ivy, though.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/06/2022 12:12

Stewart! Thanks, that's the name that had escaped me. Poor Ivy indeed. No wonder she died comparatively young.

OP posts:
TottersBlankly · 05/06/2022 12:47

I remember nothing of Stewart!

Where is he now?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/06/2022 13:28

TottersBlankly · 05/06/2022 12:47

I remember nothing of Stewart!

Where is he now?

He's the drunk one whom Susan talked about disparagingly to Alice before she knew about Alice's own drink problem, and I got the distinct impression then that Susan didn't know where he lived.

Previous to that I think all we knew about him was that when he was in his late teens he and Keith and Gary went out to Birmingham and mysteriously came back wearing lather jackets there was no way they could have come by honestly.
