They mostly seem to have stopped giving cast lists and spoilers more than a fortnight in advance.

MayIDestroyYou · 16/04/2021 10:53

Excitin'! Looks like Harrison blabs to his wife before the christening then.

It'll be good to hear from LL again.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/04/2021 11:35

It is to be hoped he does, otherwise we get the infinitely boring incorrect assumption "You're having an affair!" trope. But I suppose someone (Eddie out poaching?) might have seen Alice and Harrison in the car, and tell Fallon, whereupon she assumes the worst. (yawn)

MayIDestroyYou · 16/04/2021 11:38

Oh. Hadn't thought of that!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/04/2021 11:51

Whatever happens, I think Fallon at least is going to withdraw from being a godparent. A few voices coming up we haven't heard for a while.

Thanks Gasp0de. Yes, many of the older cast members will now have had their second vaccination so will be shuffling back, I imagine.

Joy and Vince back too! I really enjoy them both Smile

ILoveShula · 17/04/2021 12:23

Thanks Gasp.

MayIDestroyYou · 17/04/2021 12:36

I do not love Joy, and wouldn't have minded if the producers had bribed Covid to carry her quietly away ...

ILoveShula · 17/04/2021 12:42

Neither do/would I.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/04/2021 12:56

I didn't say I loved her, I enjoy the character. Same way I did Maurice Horton and Anthea (and I wish they'd bring them back).

I wish wimpy Lee and his bright white trainers had been carried off, and Helen come to that. Unfortunately, it looks like we are stuck with this trminally dull couple for the forseeable.

And how come the entire over 70's population of Ambridge seems to have survived unscathed?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/04/2021 16:52

The BBC spoilers and casts we already have, but here are the Radio Times and the Mail:

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 19th - 22nd April 2021
I’d never have predicted Ben’s time capsule project hanging around for this long, but it’s proving to be unexpectedly dramatic. This week, Lilian rummages through the past to contribute, only for Justin to make it clear he’d rather some memories remain buried.
Mind you, it’s understandable why he’d want to keep a low profile, as when secrets blow in Ambridge, the aftershocks are sizeable. Take Fallon, who’s left reeling when something hush-hush comes to light and a fallout follows.
Elsewhere, plans for Martha’s christening are thrown into chaos, while Rex is wrestling with a pig of a problem. Enter Lily with a rescue plan.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 19th - 22nd April 2021
The past is never too far away in Ambridge. Prehistorical burial sites leave pock marks on Lakey Hill, Nigel’s long scream still echoes around the roofs of Lower Loxley, and photos of Lilian’s unlifted face often come back to haunt her. This week finds the much-married Lilian having a rummage in the Dower House, where she unearths something from Justin’s past that he would rather remain buried.
The past also delivers a blow to Fallon when a shocking secret emerges that sends aftershocks across the village.
Over at Greenacres, they’re on some kind of time loop, with Tracy as a recurring figure in different guises; this week she crops up as Jim’s dinner guest.

################################################################

I don't think it's fair to call Lilian "much-married"; there was Lester "Nick" Nicholson between May 1969 and March 1970, when he died, and then Ralph Bellamy from September 1971 until his death in January 1980. Hardly a vast number of husbands, nor for a large proportion of her life.

MayIDestroyYou · 17/04/2021 17:10

Thanks, Asking, and Gasp0!

So is Lily inviting Rex's soon to be homeless pigs to reside in splendour chez Pargetters?

ILoveShula · 17/04/2021 18:12

Lillian has been married twice, as have her sister and mother, Kenton and Shula, Alistair, Jerlene, Will, Emma, and Oliver.

ILoveShula · 17/04/2021 18:12

Sorry, forgot to say thanks to Asking

MollyButton · 18/04/2021 13:48

Thanks!
I am so excited for Lily's rescue plan for Rex's pigs - maybe this is the first step to Lex?

ILoveShula · 18/04/2021 14:30

Then the Furbrothers will be quite embedded in the Archer family.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/04/2021 15:43

Many thanks, Asking! Lilian has been married twice but has also had two long-term relationships which have not ended in marriage (Matt and Justin). Not excessive at her age, but more than most Ambridgeites have had.

Rex and Lily, eh. Could work. (Lex is good!) Would be delighted to hear Ross given his marching orders.

OP posts:
ILoveShula · 18/04/2021 19:08

Ugh. CMR. We don't hear much of the Russly relationship.

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/04/2021 19:38

Rescue plan for Rex's pig problem has to be rewilding with feral pigs/wild boar, surely?

MayIDestroyYou · 18/04/2021 20:23

If they're feral how does Rex make a living from them? Hunting parties ..?

MayIDestroyYou · 18/04/2021 20:25

Kinda loving the thought of wild pigs rampaging across the village ...

👹 (I don't know what this emoji actually means ...)

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2021 00:19

@MayIDestroyYou

If they're feral how does Rex make a living from them? Hunting parties ..?
Dunno, but Gloucester Services on the M5 sells wild boar sausage rolls at eye-watering prices, so there's money in it somewhere.
Madcats · 19/04/2021 09:01

Before it became overly touristy, we used to holiday in Corsica. The pigs and boar were left to roam free on the wooded mountains (but a quick klaxon of a truck horn and shaking a bucket of pig feed soon had them cantering out of the forest).

I think the NT often use pigs to help improve woodland soil.

MissBarbary · 20/04/2021 00:18

And how come the entire over 70's population of Ambridge seems to have survived unscathed?

Why not? The small town in Aberdeenshire I was born in has had no Covid deaths. There are 18 areas in Aberdeenshire, covering several villages and small towns which have had none.
