New posters welcome - with your fresh views and burning questions.

Old posters welcome - with your jaded views and knowledgeable answers.

But new posters feel free to be jaded, and old posters feel free to ask questions!

How is the Pip storyline going to play out and do you care?

As usual, if you want to mention the advertised storylines for future episodes, there's a separate thread for that - no spoilers here, please.

Just imagine we're all sitting round a table at The Bull --> Archers

There is no way that news of the ambulance turning up at Lower Loxley and taking Noluthando to hospital wouldn't have been all round the village, with a frantic Elizabeth questioning Freddie.

RockNRollNerd · 20/01/2018 11:31

Presumably Lexi is going to manage Spiritual Home conveniently keeping her in Ambridge...

Looks like Brine created that partnership just in time as everyone is going to have to cough up towards the clean up and fines etc. Presumably though it's joint and several liability so he and Jenny will still end up taking the bulk of the cost? Does Ruari have assets from Siobhan?

JessieMcJessie · 20/01/2018 12:01

I thought it was a bit odd that Noluthando went from “pills are illegal and dangerous Freddie” to knocking back a whole E in the space of a few seconds when Kate turned up and before she had even spoken to her. Seemed very out of character and a bit too plot-driven.

I too was waiting for the storyline where the police questioned N about where she got it and Freddie either got arrested or Nokuthando insisted on lying to protect him.

Are we going to see a contrite Jennifer apologising to Justin I wonder?

Re Lexie: I still don’t understand her job position. I’ve asked on here twice now if anyone knows why the GG job is temporary and nobody has answered, so I don’t think that is clear at all. It’s not a seasonal position and their last maitre’d stormed out. If she wants to stay so much, why not just get another job locally in hospitality now she has the experience and the references? If they do end up with her managing SH how is that different from any other job she could have gone for? It makes no sense that the options are either go back to Bulgaria or be a surrogate.

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2018 12:35

Lexie and the job make no sense. They obviously need someone in the role and will have a permanent job on offer - as she's done a really good job it would be odd not to offer it to her.

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2018 12:36

Although she may not want a perm position as she may want to take months off to go home

R4 · 20/01/2018 12:53

If they do end up with her managing SH how is that different from any other job she could have gone for?

Oh come on, Jessie, you know the rules. Unless you work in Ambridge you are fated to be silent and/or the subject of ridicule (eg the Thwaites). We can't have that for Roy's squeeze!

BertrandRussell · 20/01/2018 13:02

Would there be any problems with Lexie's visa for a permanent job?

MikeUniformMike · 20/01/2018 13:16

It's Lynda not Linda.

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2018 13:26

Isn't she from an eu member state?

birdsdestiny · 20/01/2018 13:42

Even if there is an issue with employment why don't Roy and lexi just get married. Surely less of an ordeal than being pregnant to someone you once had a take away with.

viques · 20/01/2018 13:44

Re a manager for Kate's thriving business. Surely Emma is the obvious candidate to run Spiritual Home? She can easily fit it in between her other little jobs like cleaning, cafe work, party planning, cake making, chicken gutting, childcare . Is she still doing furniture up cycling as well, I find it hard to keep up. the bonus would be that they could move into Kate's cottage, so solving their housing problem. I am pretty sure Kate would be flexible over only asking for a below market value rent, and would give them at least a weeks notice when she wants to come home again.

BTW Did Kate buy her own ticket to SA? That's a first!

TheAntiBoop · 20/01/2018 13:45

Does Lexie actually want to settle in the uk?

And they've not been dating very long so marriage seems a stretch. Is he even divorced yet?

JessieMcJessie · 20/01/2018 14:11

Ironically though, R4, Kathy got a job outside Ambridge when she was still speaking and then as soon as she left that job and came back to manage GG she went silent! 😀

R4 · 20/01/2018 14:27

Maybe Kathy is the exception that proves the rule?Grin
I'm happy for her to remain silent - I can't stand her whiny voice.

CeciledeVolanges · 20/01/2018 14:37

It sounds like Kate is going to have to buy her own ticket or go by bicycle at the rate Brian’s finances are going...

MikeUniformMike · 20/01/2018 14:41

Em'n'Ed don't have a housing problem and like many Ambridge residents have on tap free childcare. Emma wants to be a homeowner so a holiday cottage would not cut it.

CaraBosse1 · 20/01/2018 14:46

Relative newbie that I am, one thing about Jennifer and Lilian that I don't get ... how come they're so posh? I thought they grew up in a pub. Was it a posh one?

MikeUniformMike · 20/01/2018 14:56

It was The Bull. Jennifer was the clever one and Lillian the pretty one. Lillian married money, he died, then she married more money and lived in Guernsey for a long time.
Jennifer was a single mother to Adam and she married someone else, Roger Travers-Macy and Adam took Macy as his surname. Jenny & Roger had Debbie and then split up. Jenny met and married rich newcomer Brian, and for some reason Debbie became an Aldridge. Debbie married and divorced Simon Gerrard.
Tony isn't posh and married a welsh lass, Pat, who lost her Welsh accent very quickly.

Phoebe was an Aldridge but mysteriously became a Tucker when she applied to Oxford.
Only Debbie, Brine and Jennydarling are now called Aldridge.

MikeUniformMike · 20/01/2018 15:04

Peggy Woolley is the mother of Jennifer, Lillian and Tony. She is often mistakenly referred to as Jill in Radio Addicts.
Peggy was married to Jack Woolley but her first husband was Jack Archer, father of Jenny, Lil & Tone.
Jack Archer was an alcoholic and he and Peggy ran the pub.

Jack Archer was the brother of Dan Archer and Christine Archer (now Aunty Chris/Christine Barford) , Chris now lives with Peggy.
Dan was the father of Phil, who was married to the saintly Grace Fairbrother who died in a toothpaste war, before he married Jill.
Jill and Phil had 4 children - Shula & Kenton, David Snowball and Lizardbreath.
Jack Archer is also the name of the baby previously know as Gideon Titchener.

MikeUniformMike · 20/01/2018 15:07

Phoebe is the daughter of Katherine Victoria Aldridge and Roy Tucker.
Toebe Phucker is not to be confused with Toe-Bee Fairbrother.

choccyp1g · 20/01/2018 15:11

Dan Archer was the father of Jack, Phil, and Christine.

MikeUniformMike · 20/01/2018 15:26

Oh. I stand corrected. Thanks. I have been listening for years and you are absolutely right.

MikeUniformMike · 20/01/2018 15:27

I remember before Alice was born. Now that makes me feel old.

Mootsie · 20/01/2018 16:37

Grin Love the names.

Do we know who is living in Kate's cottage?

DoctorTwo · 20/01/2018 18:34

Didn't Kate's Cottage run in the Grand National?
