New posters welcome - with your fresh views and burning questions.

Old posters welcome - with your jaded views and knowledgeable answers.

But new posters feel free to be jaded, and old posters feel free to ask questions!

How is the Pip storyline going to play out and do you care?

As usual, if you want to mention the advertised storylines for future episodes, there's a separate thread for that - no spoilers here, please.

Just imagine we're all sitting round a table at The Bull --> Archers

Re Brian and the land, from solicitor training the normal practice would be for the buyer to get an environmental assessment of the land done - the rule is caveat emptor and his lawyers should have told him that. He may have decided to trust Justin and save money. Legally speaking I think environmental law liability for polluting someone else’s land rests on the owner of the land strictly ( so fault isn’t taken into account) so he would be in line for the statutory penalty - probably a fine.

PS Toby is pathetic.

MrsGrindah · 19/01/2018 19:12

Well Toby’s changed his tune quickly hasn’t he? And Pip hasn’t questioned it..

Also, please God when is Nolutando going back?!

MrsGrindah · 19/01/2018 19:13

Posted too soon! And Kate going too! Is it my birthday?!

ADarkandStormyKnight · 19/01/2018 19:18

Well done Toby.

R4 · 19/01/2018 19:22

Wow. The Ambridge Health Fairy was on fine form tonight but the gossip fairy seems to have gone awol. Surely word will out, or will Kate and Noli be in SA by then?
I wonder who will run Spiritual Home? cough Lexi cough

Stickerrocks · 19/01/2018 19:43

Lynda could look after Spiritual Home with the llamas. Kate has been a little madam her entire life and I don't think she will ever change.(Thanks for filling me in BTW).

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/01/2018 19:54

Oh, Kate will have no trouble finding a short-notice manager for Spiritual Home, I'm sure.

The Ambridge Job Fairy will see to that.

MikeUniformMike · 19/01/2018 20:08

Lexi perhaps

HatingTheBigShow · 19/01/2018 20:13

Hang on, is Pip saying she wants to get back with Toby?

Hang on, is Pip saying she wants to get back with Toby?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 19/01/2018 20:17

No! Pip thinks it's HER baby. Toby is reminding her that the baby is THEIRS.

EsmesBees · 19/01/2018 20:42

I am almost convinced that Pip and Toby will get back together at some point during the pregnancy. Causing tension with David, Jill and Rex, and leading to a short term storyline about Pip trying to go it alone without her family's support.

extinctspecies · 19/01/2018 20:53

Pip's acting just as terrible as always tonight. All .... the ... long pauses ...between....clauses.

Fadingmemory · 19/01/2018 21:04

I wish Pip would grow up and tell David that the baby is hers (and if he suddenly keeps to his newly-declared sense of responsibility, Toby's), not one of David's farm animals.

Kate will magically find someone to take care of Spiritual home at a few days notice (as ludicrous as Elizabeth planning a music festival only two months in advance and Ambridge beginning panto rehearsals only a few weeks before the performances).

And please, please, please would someone stand up to Linda, whose affected voice irritates me no end. I dislike Jill Archer and wish she would bake herself into one of her drizzle cakes. I still listen, though, just in case. I am quite enjoying the Brian the Polluter storyline...

ppeatfruit · 19/01/2018 21:35

Alan did try to stand up to Linda but it's like water off a duck's back.

Interesting that JD didn't notice both Kate and Noli were still in their party clothes

HatingTheBigShow · 19/01/2018 21:59

Gosh, sorry for the big frozen iPad fail!

UterusUterusGhali · 20/01/2018 01:38

I love Linda. There's one in every vilage. The most realistic character imo.

echt · 20/01/2018 06:04

I like Linda too. When the actress who plays her gets hayfever, it's like the first swallow or cuckoo. Hang on, did she get it last summer?

BertrandRussell · 20/01/2018 08:04

It was still all about bloody Kate, wasn't it, even while the Health Faury was doing her stuff and the police not being involved and nobody asking Noli what she had taken and where she got it. All that "Oh forgive me darling" routine. Made me want to slap her even more. And where did she get the money for 2 tickets to SA? And where is she going to stay when she gets there?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/01/2018 08:21

No one else excited to hear that the Aldridges are well on the way to going bust? [hopeful emoticon]

What I am mostly hoping for now is a succession of scenes where Jennifer has to start shopping in Aldi or Lidl and hanging around the reduced section in Asda. She can compare notes with the Horrobins on which of the Borchester pound shops and charity shops have the best stuff. Ruairi will be pulled out of his public school and sent to Borchester Green. No more single malt for Brian - on to White Lightning for him! He can sit on the village green with Joe all day putting the world to rights and yelling at passing traffic. Jennifer, Brian and Ruairi will move into a holiday cottage and a family of nouveaus will move into the farmhouse and patronise them. I can't wait! Grin

ADarkandStormyKnight · 20/01/2018 08:26

Totally agree Bertrand.

Doesn't she rent her cottage out to get some income while she freeloads at Home Farm?

BertrandRussell · 20/01/2018 08:32

The Fall of the House of Aldridge.

Coming up with his share of the millions might put a bit of a downer on Adam’s baby plans........

ppeatfruit · 20/01/2018 09:41

True Bertrand about Kate but there was some self awareness when she apologised for her selfishness while skyping etc. I'm nor sure if the SWs' thought through the scene when Noli collapsed.

How do you keep an ambulance secret?
Where was Lizzie?
Wouldn't the hospital inform the police about the 'e' ?

That's probably what Kate is thinking if they do a quick flit to SA in time before the shxx hits the fan! Stupid woman.

1sttimeunicorn · 20/01/2018 10:34

So many story lines I dislike at the moment! Not sure I can stick with it.
