In full acknowledgement of PseudoBadger's great achievement in providing the previous 79 threads over the past 4 years (and credit to R4 for this thread's title)...

Discuss TA (The Archers). New posters encouraged - it's not (too) cliquey here and plenty of regulars are happy to answer questions. Archers

One rule: no spoilers (ie no mentioning future plot teasers from Radio Times listings etc) - there's a separate thread for that.

So, is Phoebe pregnant? will Anisha dob in (dobbin - geddit?) Alistair?

PS I don't presume to take on PB's role permanently - hopefully the job of starting new threads will rotate among regulars until she returns

Matt says good-bye to Pusscat. She whispers, good-bye, Tiger, and dissolves in tears. She texts Adam that she is so sorry but she can't make tonight. Oh, Lilian, mutters Adam. What are you doing?
The Lowfield summary - so very uncertain what happened.
and this: Adam admits to Ian that he has been distracted - ever since he saw Lilian sneaking out of Matt's suite and then kiss him

I really don't think there was anything more than a kiss.

ppeat I think we heard her muttering 'where's my phone' as she was rummaging in her bag, so we'd know that it was a text from her that Adam's phone beeped with.

I thought Adam was just jumping to false conclusions after the receptionist told him that Mrs Bellamy had gone up to Mr Crawford's suite & then he received the text from her saying she couldn't make it.

That's all that I thought, too. It wasn't more than a kiss, but setting it up for Lilian to realise that she doesn't feel the same way about Justin, and at some point, she and Matt probably will get back together. And Adam is putting things together based on how he has behaved himself in the past, and also on her past behaviour, so it is quite natural to have jumped to the wrong conclusion. But he still has doubts, and Ian is pushing him to ignore the doubts - which is about Adam and Ian and not Lilian/Matt/Justin.

Obviously it could mostly be resolved by Lilian and Adam having a chat, but it probably won't.

If my best friend was having an affair I wouldn't talk to get husband I would talk to her.

To be fair to Ian, all he's got to go on is Adam's story and, having been cheated on himself, he feels Justin has a right to know.

Of course Adam should talk to Lillian. But whatever she says, she's clearly behaving badly towards her fiancé. If my husband-to-be kissed a significant ex, who I knew wanted him back, (and in the run-up to our wedding) I think I'd be more than a little miffed.

I wish someone could get it through to Pip actress that the emphasis goes on the first syllable of the name Toby, not the second.

Oh absolutely Lillian is behaving badly but that doesn't mean Adam should tell Justin. Lillian is hopeless with men, I have no idea why I like her.

I'd agree but I think its some kind of Radio 4 pronunciation. There was an Afternoon Play a few months ago, and I was sure one of the characters must be played by the same actress as she pronounced Toby the same way throughout. But when I checked, it was someone different.

Irritating though.

Right, I've just LA to Friday's ep. Sorry, I made a few assumptions before. Adam was going to surprise MattnLil so went upstairs. They did NOT dtd. We heard her break down in tears after a goodbye kiss at the door of the room, then running down the corridor after looking in her bag to txt Adam that she can't make dinner with him. The reason was because she was so upset I suppose.

So Adam has reached a few conclusions without any concrete evidence. he should talk to Lilian.

Yes that's the conclusion I came to, they kissed but nothing else. I think Adam or possibly Ian will let something slip and that will be the end of it. They may drag it out till the eve of the wedding of course .

The second syllable emphasis in Pip's pronunciation of "Toby" always makes her sound slightly nagging - e.g. if he were to say "PhilippER" it would sound that way.

No I don't think so, he sounded similar, Pip sounded a bit different. Maybe because they were supposed to be by the river which I didn't hear very clearly at all

Strictly speaking Lilian isn't an adulterer - she wasn't married to Matt and wasn't exactly model partner either. THey did generally work well together though.

I can understand Ian's viewpoint after Helen didn't tell him about Adam but its not consistent with Ian previously wanting to be sure before accusing people (in general rather than specifically). He has generally been the fair one or the mediator.

I quite liked the way Adam confronted Lilian & Lilian tried to explain what had happened to him. He really didn't believe her though, did he?

No he didn't, though he's wrong, I liked her acting last night, she's telling the truth. She's still ambivalent about Matt though.

I was trying to find three different ways to say adulterous/unfaithful/cheating. I almost contemplated using the term 'cuckquean' (horrible-sounding word) but I decided to spare you all.

Well R4 only when we marry do we make VOWs to be faithful . I think that's what Ceto means.
