Remember, please do not post anything you read on this thread on The Archers discussion thread. That is wrong, bad, naughty!

Previous thread.

Yes. With Nic out of the way Emmur could decide she prefers Will. Again.

GnotherGnu · 22/02/2018 13:30

Why is the decision about the milking parlour for Pip to take? I know she's the Future of Brookfield and all, but as Ruth pointed out it's she and David who will be working there for the foreseeable future.

Jennifer keeping quiet or risk getting a loved one in serious trouble - Alice having an accident whilst pissed?

I fear Roy feeling frustrated relates to no nookie whilst Lexie TTCs. I don't think that's a scene I really want to hear.

Swannykazoo · 22/02/2018 13:57

Oh Gnu, thank you for that warning. Hopefully there will be a continuity warning saying "and now, and episode that some listeners may find disturbing" and I can have my ear defenders and sick bucket on standby at the thought of a rebuffed Roy.

Bekabeech · 22/02/2018 14:37

Why is the decision about the milking parlour for Pip to take?
Because Ruth and David gave it to her as her project (but I think that was before they knew about the baby).

SheepySheepy · 22/02/2018 15:40

Also concerned about the Roy rebuttal. Envy

Gruach · 22/02/2018 16:02

Remind us - somebody knowledgeable - exactly when the editor swapping happens?

I mean - when the outgoing editor’s final (edited) episodes will be.

PseudoBadger · 22/02/2018 22:27

So I predict Nic in a coma and Will has to decide to switch off life support

BikingBeatrix · 22/02/2018 22:38

Huge Canoe was still being mentioned as Ed by the continuity people last week; this week he‘s not - it‘s the woman as before when soc left, presumably as interim Ed? I think. To be truthful l don’t think l’ve heard her name uttered, just seen it printed somewhere.

In a decent relationship you‘d expect a woman being a surrogate would explain the no nookie thing to her regular partner - well before he‘s removed his crimplene slacks and has his - hopes up.

Bettyfood · 23/02/2018 05:10

I bet Alice causes an accident while drink driving or something. It has certainly been foreshadowed. GOOD at an uncomfortable storyline for Shula and Alistair. Can't stand them.

Gumpendorf · 23/02/2018 09:35

Hugh KJ is listed as editor for this week's episodes and Alison Hindell is listed as editor for (from?) next week. AH was interim editor when SoC left. She is listed as Head of Audio Drama and joined BBC from RSC in 1988.

Hah!

Vango · 23/02/2018 13:12

Here’s what happened last time she took over. Though it’s worth remembering that half the cast had been missing for the previous year or more so the difference was marked..

So ... Yes, pretty sure Jake and Mia will be heading back to their bio-parent. ‘Cos otherwise the BBC would have to pay actors to play them.

In other news. Looks as if Neil is going to offer pig-husbandry to Rex. Though I hope not putting Jazzer’s nose out of joint.

And I guess Jim will be caught between his son and his daughter in law.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/02/2018 14:43

OK, what do we think to this?

Joe had a deathbed confession from Nic. We don't know what she said but Joe was shocked to his core.

13th March - Joe makes a shocking admission.
14th March - Alistair's world falls apart.

That suggests to me that either Shula or Alistair ran Matt over and Nic saw it but didn't tell the police.

Thoughts? I can't now remember what Alistair was doing that night. Shula should have been in the thick of things at the ball, unexplained absence for a few minutes very conspicuous, but this is Ambridge and nothing can be ruled out.

dairyfarmerswife · 24/02/2018 15:00

I like your thinking... I think Alistair was at the hunt ball - he was looking for Shula when she was chatting to Phillip wasn't he? And hadn't there been some pre ball palaver over a dated dinner jacket (and endless discussion on the thread about the correct term for the attire?)

I do wonder about Alice being the culprit though. Or maybe it's all red herrings and it was Nice...

dairyfarmerswife · 24/02/2018 15:01

Nic

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/02/2018 15:42

*Gasp0deTheW0nderD0gg I was thinking the exact same thing and that Drunken Alice could be a red herring.

Mind you, Smugula could be a red herring too. Philip has a confession...?

Then there was Justin, of course...

ADarkandStormyKnight · 24/02/2018 21:36

There would have had to be a reason Nic didn't say anything before, but decided to day something now.

Might be nothing to do with Matt.

TheMadGardener · 24/02/2018 22:05

If Alistair or Shula ran over Matt, I think it's more likely to be Alistair than Shula, because Shula is an Archer and having just had all the Helen-on-trial stuff they aren't likely to go for Shula-on-trial. Shula and Alistair's marriage has been rocky for ages so maybe they could write Alistair out.

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/02/2018 00:33

I wonder if Nic confessed to nicking the money that we all think George stole?

MikeUniformMike · 25/02/2018 12:43

Ooh!

LassWiADelicateAir · 25/02/2018 15:17

That suggests to me that either Shula or Alistair ran Matt over and Nic saw it but didn't tell the police

That seems the most plausible rather than it was Nic who run him over. I can't see Nic being capable of containing it within herself if she had done it. Also I would guess Nic drove a small, cheap car a Kia or Seat where if you hit someone it will likely show damage but Shula and Alistair will drive 4 x4 tanks.

MereDintofPandiculation · 25/02/2018 22:30

LassWiADlicateAiR Did you not say exactly the same thing over on the other thread? It's a good point

LassWiADelicateAir · 25/02/2018 22:56

I did indeed ! I assume that Harrison must have inspected vehicles at the time, but who knows?

MeltingSnowflake · 26/02/2018 19:53

I thought at the time it was Shula! She was behaving really strangely around that point and she did disappear for a bit during the ball. All this Nic/Alice talk threw me, but yes, could be a red herring...
