Yes, it may be squashing a few too many SLs in but basically it's better than it was under SOC's ministration.

Ah Gruach surely a good script writer should\could make a good novelist.

RockNRollNerd · 13/07/2017 10:52

Have just sobbed on a sunny balcony (am on holiday) at yesterday's episode and decided to retreat inside to the air con for a soothing G&T luckily everyone else is out diving today so can sit and sniffle on my own.

Finally caught up on threads, ironically since taking a new job in an agri related area I'm more busy than ever before and rarely get on the threads now but am so pleased they are still going strong.

Are the Duxford sisters supposed to be like those dreadful Helmsley witches. They had a compulsively awful show last year I think where they tried to fob a load of kids off with fauxtella made from black beans and fish fingers dipped in coconut flakes but it was all supposed to be marvellous as it had no grains and no refined sugar, never mind they couldn't make anything without a shit ton of agave and coconut oil (bleurgh)

ppeatfruit · 13/07/2017 13:00

No RockNRoll IIRC one of them has worked in an American or Australian? Michelin starred restaurant I can't remember what the other has done , Just into fancy schmancy food, you know; tiny portions on huge plates with spots or smears of gravy around the centre meat or fish.

I quite like the Helmsleys but I agree that coconut and agave are not much more healthy than 'normal' stuff.

ImAFurchester · 13/07/2017 13:03

The Hemsleys are an offence to cooking. One of them said her favourite comfort food was bone broth!!!

They need to fuck right off and eat some spaghetti carbonara.

ppeatfruit · 13/07/2017 13:09

I'mA I'm a veggie so wouldn't eat chicken soup but bones have been used as base for stock making for soups for thousands of years what's the problem?

MrsArthurShappey · 13/07/2017 16:31

For me it's the calling it 'bone broth' - it's fucking stock!

BertrandRussell · 13/07/2017 16:46

Clear chicken broth is an amazing comfort food........

ppeatfruit · 13/07/2017 17:05

It's not necessarily stock though of course is can be used as such, it can also be jellied and served cold, or hot, they are both called consommé,

SealSong · 13/07/2017 19:08

Gah, this whole Matt/Lilian? annoying puppy storyline is really grinding my gears! So irritating! Why can't he slink off back to Panama or wherever, the vile man.

SealSong · 13/07/2017 19:09

? should be a /

R4 · 13/07/2017 19:46

Thank goodness that Lilian fessed up about the dog. I couldn't stand the thought of weeks of evasiveness and lying. Has she finally grown up?

ppeatfruit · 14/07/2017 09:33

R4 You're treat ..Has she finally grown up? hahahaha….! she's only 70 Grin

ppeatfruit · 14/07/2017 17:34

I just LA to yesterday's and think that Ruth is being naive, if there's a strong difference of opinion within the Home Farm family she'll probably find herself agreeing with one person or another, it would be difficult or impossible to remain neutral especially if it was about an issue on which she felt strongly.

That;s the reason Brine seemed so happy to hear her say it.

ppeatfruit · 14/07/2017 17:36

I like the puppy story line! Justin's reaction was very sweet. He's an enigma.

EBearhug · 14/07/2017 19:08

I agree, but I think it's a good starting place - and she was clear to Brian that she wouldn't automatically agree with him.

I know. Boop for telling Lillian not to even think about getting rid of Ruby and another Boop for telling Matt what a great present Ruby is.

ThatsNotMyToddler · 15/07/2017 07:00

Just popping in to float the idea that Lexi will work at Grey Gables in the long term. Didn't she say that she was trained in hospitality? Maybe Linda will finally retire. I think
Lexi and Roy will get married and work together and suddenly the question of EU migrants will be a lot closer to home for Roy.

Imbroglio · 15/07/2017 10:17

Yes I think Lexi is here to stay, and agree it will be a device to plot the fate of the EU migrant worker.

I am wondering where the Happy Friends storyline is going - will Kirsty and Jill save the day? Will David and Ruth have to cook their own dinner?

goodelfallover · 15/07/2017 11:20

Will David and Ruth have to cook their own dinner?Shock

ThatsNotMyToddler · 15/07/2017 11:56

I feel like happy friends will be saved. Either by someone approaching the sisters at the Ambridge fete or something along those lines. I wonder if they'll make the restaurant (or part of it at least - maybe an upstairs that was otherwise going to be storage?) available during the day for happy friends and then do their posh bits elsewhere.

ppeatfruit · 15/07/2017 12:55

Yes you may well be right That'sNot . I hope so .

Ceto · 15/07/2017 14:51

I suspect that Jill will be incredibly rude to the Duxford sisters, only for it to emerge that they have every intention of keeping the Happy Friends café going, and supplying gourmet food to it into the bargain.

JennyWoodentop · 15/07/2017 18:20

Is it just me who wants the Kimchi Kid to be fermented in a vat of his own vegetables then? I wonder if he and Helen are due to fall out soon.

ThatsNotMyToddler · 15/07/2017 18:31

Actually I wonder if Brian will somehow save the happy friends' day, given how rude Jill has been to/about him and Les Soeurs Heureuse

EBearhug · 15/07/2017 23:31

No, definitely not just you.
