Hides in laundry rooms

Didn't Nic do well in the single wickets years ago? Or maybe that was ClarrieLove? I wonder why Nic hasn't wanted to get involved in the cricket team now. I can't imagine Will at home badmouthing any woman who plays cricket. Or even thinks about it. And anyway there'll be child care issues if both want to train on the same night. Hmm

Vango · 28/06/2017 19:52

Hi DDD! I know. I feel bad. Combination of busyness and fear of repeating myself nightly (moaning about Pip) has limited my ability to post. But just to catch up, there seems to be an unusually high number of 'potential' storylines bubbling away, not many of which are entertaining me 😁.

Mootsie · 28/06/2017 20:39

I find it odd that Justin is spending such a huge amount of money on a house that he doesn't own. They're not married yet so what will happen if they split up?

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 28/06/2017 21:39

Just catching up. The "signing the option" scene was like no option agreement I've done in 25 years of doing option agreements.

Alicekeach · 28/06/2017 22:59

Grin Lass, the power of attorney bit with Ruari made no sense either - and I've been doing powers of attorney for fifteen years!

RolfNotRudolf · 29/06/2017 07:01

Lass well I bet you're glad you listened to TA and will know how to do these things properly in the future Wink

Vango · 29/06/2017 07:03

Rudolf that's hilarious! I'm poised here to write that Lass has obviously been doing them WRONG. 😁

RolfNotRudolf · 29/06/2017 08:17

I think we can all learn from TA how to do our own jobs properly Vango - e.g. I'm sure not a day goes past when DairyFarmersWife doesn't offer up a silent prayer to St Pip for all her great ideas on dairy cattle. I'm just hoping for an actuarial storyline to help put DDD on the professional straight and narrow. Grin

Vango · 29/06/2017 08:29

True Rolf (not Rudoph!). Many times I find myself wondering what would Pip do? 😁

RolfNotRudolf · 29/06/2017 08:46

And as a parent to teenagers I often look to the Dopey's exemplary parenting for ideas on how to raise one golden child while the others are shoved in each other's bedrooms and the cereal cupboard.

Vango · 29/06/2017 08:59

Good point. I have 2 boys and a girl so I can extrapolate directly.

DadDadDad · 29/06/2017 11:41

That's something we have in common, Vango, although unlike the Brookfield lot, DD is the youngest. (And, at risk of offering identifiable information, the weirdest thing is that our address contains both the strings "brookfield" and "ambridge" Shock ).

Like Josh, my middle DS is quite entrepreneurial, currently ordering parts to build his own PC....

Rolf - even I struggle a bit to see the potential drama in an actuarial storyline. A docudrama about the downfall of Equitable Life might be watchable, although it wouldn't put actuaries in a very good light. Blush

RubyRoseRing · 29/06/2017 13:03

As a HCP (albeit no longer practising) I've marvelled for years at the very speedy recovery of the Ambridge residents from all sorts of illnesses and ghastly accidents. It makes me think moving to Ambridge to breath the very special air might cure me of the serious chronic illnesses l have developed. Or at least l'd find out how to pull my own socks up and live a long fruitful life. Who knows, maybe when (note when rather than if) I reach the ages of the sprightly Jill and Peggy, l expect l'll be able to get all the dust and old Christmas cards off the tops of our many book cases.

RubyRoseRing · 29/06/2017 13:06

And surely by then l'll be able to contribute grammatically correct sentences on mumsnet. Blush

Vango · 29/06/2017 14:56

DDD I think you mean that's another thing we have in common!

DadDadDad · 29/06/2017 15:26

Vango - that's a bit cryptic. I don't have your memory - what are you referring to? (or do you just mean an interest in TA?)

ppeatfruit · 29/06/2017 16:09

To change the subject, I noticed a very unpleasant hint of knobbishness when Justin was talking to Helen about the Food and Farming Awards she's entered for again; he deliberately sneered at her not being there to accept the award last year and she didn't let him get away with it. Good on yer Helen.

So Lilian is keeping secrets from him too, she'll have to play her cards carefully, with 2 dangerous men around her.

MikeUniformMike · 29/06/2017 16:17

I recommend Ambridge for the escape to the countryers. Low unemployment, few social issues, very few teenage pregnancies, older conceptions a doddle (apart from Bethany), low divorce rates, and rude health in old age are only some of the benefits. Even childcare is easy - you just send the child to boarding school or out on his bike for a few years. You can even get houses that sprout an extra bedroom or floor.

Thesingingtoad · 29/06/2017 16:35

...you forgot the cereal cupboard option for childcare MikeUniform!

I wonder if Joe and Peggy will be celebrating their 100 birthday in a few years.

MikeUniformMike · 29/06/2017 16:47

Never mind the Bank of Mum and Dad, there's always The Bank of Gran or the Pound Sterling to help you out.

MikeUniformMike · 29/06/2017 16:47

Where's Hazel?

Vango · 29/06/2017 17:35

he deliberately sneered at her not being there to accept the award last year and she didn't let him get away with it.

Gosh, I didn't hear it that way at all!

Don't panic DDD - just the Archers (as far as I know) Grin.

RolfNotRudolf · 29/06/2017 17:54

DDD I'm sure if the SWs explored the inner mind of an actuary the SL could get more exciting - MaybeSmile

DadDadDad · 29/06/2017 18:25

In your dreams! (but not in mine...)

Grin
RubyRoseRing · 29/06/2017 19:25

ppeat, I agree. Justin is getting horribly knobbish these days.

Mike, what you haven't taken into account in a life in Ambridge is the exceptionally high pollen count. Lynda's very annoying (to me) seasonal sneeze and sniff was back. I found myself checking the weather there today to confirm it was in fact raining so the pollen count would be down. I find Lynda and her sneeze has gone on long enough. She should just get some antihistamines. A resourceful type like Lynda would not put up with all that year after year
