The Archers - It's not about the money, money, money, think about Jill's honey, honey, honey, Justin wants to farm by satnav, forget about the prize tag.

Will The Dopeys have buggered off by the end of this thread?
Will Tom finally reach home, after weeks of trekking through the tundra?

I'm a Homeland fan too. It really is gripping stuff.

GypsyFloss · 27/11/2014 18:27

They do/did those radio messages on RTE radio in Ireland too. Used to confuse the hell out of me growing up as I couldn't understand how they knew that the person that the message was for would be listening at the right time!

Unitarian if they decide to emulate Homeland we could have John, John, and Phil all coming back Grin

Love this thread title.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/11/2014 18:38

Excellent new thread title, thanks Pseudo

Am Shock Shock Shock at revelation that those messages were for spies!

Am I the only one who thought 'ewwwww' at the bit in the Posh French Restaurong when Adam (or was it Charlie?) said something like 'Sweet little thing' after the waiter served them? Sounded so pervy.

And I still don't think the Dopeys will be leaving Brookfield.

GypsyFloss · 27/11/2014 18:42

I thought that too Bore ...wondered whether it was a male or female he was perving at!

TopazRocks · 27/11/2014 18:42

Nobody will be surprised to hear (my ears being made of cloth n all) that I heard Todd as Tom. I knew it wasn't THAT Tom (I may be deaf, but I AM bright!). I was Confused till I noticed here you were all talking of Todd. Smile How would I manage without the Mumsnet Interpretation Service.

'Fin du Monde' was the restaurant Hayley and Roy didn't go to, the night Freddie went awol, I think. I remember thinking it was quite amusing in that context.

Panzee · 27/11/2014 18:47

Maybe The Archers is just a complicated version of the numbers stations? Those really freak me out.

TopazRocks · 27/11/2014 18:50

I find Adam a bit creepy really. It's partly his posh-ish voice, I think. And all his grumbling, even when he's got something to moan about! He's just not my type obviously. Grin

I remember these messages too, also the more recent programme about the outcomes. It doesn't amaze me that some might have been for spies. Now of course they just use multiple mobiles. Disposables even!

I love the thread title too. Thanks, our fave Badger. Smile

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/11/2014 18:53

Gypsy the waiter sounded male to me!

ErrolTheDragon · 27/11/2014 19:11

Oh dear, I just knew that Henry would ask something like that.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/11/2014 19:14

And George was also somewhat predictable but I would just love Susan to have to care for 'Lucky' Grin

Oh!! The prodigal returns!!

Cabin in the backwoods ...hmphh

GypsyFloss · 27/11/2014 19:15

WrongTom. In a cabin in the woods. Whod'a thunk it.

I hate new Tom.

minklundy · 27/11/2014 19:15

Sounds nothing like him....and is he a better actor. I for one found his cabin story unconvincing

sunnyfrostyday · 27/11/2014 19:16

I normally lurk on here, but I'm going to join in, if that's ok!Smile

capercaillie · 27/11/2014 19:16

Don't like new Tom either. Can't tell him apart from all the random people turning up on episodes these days...

choccyp1g · 27/11/2014 19:16

Uncle Tom!

sunnyfrostyday · 27/11/2014 19:16

and New Tom is not working for me...

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/11/2014 19:17

A cabin in the backwoods.

Yeah, right.

'Cos that's where all Canadian farming types live

ErrolTheDragon · 27/11/2014 19:17

Well at least he twigged quickly that Rob can't do two jobs indefinitely and they'll need to sort something out. I have to like him just for that at the moment.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 27/11/2014 19:17

Yay!!!

He made it!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 27/11/2014 19:19

But yeah - new voice is hardly distinctive. Could be Josh or Charlie or Spenser or anyone.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/11/2014 19:19

Uncle Tom
...and his cabin... maybe there's some sort of bingo game to be played, the SWs are smuggling in literary references and analogies all over the place.

TopazRocks · 27/11/2014 19:20

Clever Tom, he found his way back. Grin His voice will take some getting used to though. Especially for poor Tony who'll be v confused when he becomes more with it. Confused

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 27/11/2014 19:22

Why didn't he rush straight to the hospital?

GypsyFloss · 27/11/2014 19:22

Grin Topaz

ElizaPickford · 27/11/2014 19:24

Tom's back? I need to catch up!
