Sexy sex on lovely legs, shearing sheep bare-chested. Tell us how you picture the good folk of Ambridge (and feel free to discuss anything else rural soap-related).

For me, that describes Ed. Some strange people think that it describes Jazzer.
Does it matter what they look like? We know and love their voices (except you Pip)

BYOS I know it wasn't previously a tearoom, but is Tom's house on the green still vacant? If so, could it be converted as you describe? Or is it the house that Will Grundy owns, and he's not likely to agree to that? (In any case, why's the house still empty if Ambridge is such a desirable place to live?)

PetulaGordino · 29/07/2014 16:12

hmm i have a feeling that jenny's feast will have the opposite effect to babette's where wrongs are forgotten etc. though i suppose old loves might be rekindled Wink

PetulaGordino · 29/07/2014 16:14

yes it's will grundy's property. apparently he isn't too bothered about letting it out again quickly, or maybe that's all happening off-air

ppeatfruit · 29/07/2014 17:07

More like Sleeping Beauty where the uninvited guest Suswitch turns up and curses the new kitchen which implodes and all the invited guest fall down the underfloor heating vents Grin

ppeatfruit · 29/07/2014 17:08

I meant Guests!! of course

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 29/07/2014 18:19

"Oh I wonder what is behind all this ivy? Oh look, an old tea room, frozen in the 1950's so all I need to do is up cycle"

"The village elders remember there being a tea room on the green many years ago but can't remember where it was. This must be it! And oh look, the deeds are in the lovely vintage till and it belongs to Jill archer now who will let me rent it for 10p a week and free tea for life"

Hurrah!

GypsyFloss · 29/07/2014 18:21

I agree Petula , I was just thinking the same listening again today at lunchtime. Significant signposting to the complete opposite of what she desires.

PetulaGordino · 29/07/2014 18:37

gypsy i can't tell you how gratifying it is to look on "threads i'm on" and see the words "i agree petula..." on one of the threads Grin

GypsyFloss · 29/07/2014 18:57

Grin makes me feel all validated when I extremely rarely see that Petula

PetulaGordino · 29/07/2014 19:11

so the local bobby is an expert in event security now is he?

Swannykazoo · 29/07/2014 19:15

Love love love the fact they had Roy listening to Radiohead's "Creep" before he got out to talk to Moike

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 29/07/2014 19:22

Pc plot thinks he's an expert in everything he has an opinion on. He's so getting over involved. Not thoughtful at all!

As for Roy - I've never had him down as a creepy sex pest and this is really starting to veer away from 'reality' for me!

I do think they've been working together in a certain way and now she has pulled back from that and he isn't confident enough to make those decisions on his own. I think lizzie has fucked up royally

Is mike a different actor? He sounded younger than Roy!

PetulaGordino · 29/07/2014 19:27

lol BYOS - like postman pat who does everything but deliver sodding letters

i'm wondering whether Elizabeth refusing to get involved in the boring road stuff is going to bite her on the arse too

ArcheryAnnie · 29/07/2014 19:28

I'm usually all Up The Workers, but if I had someone working for me like Roy, who talked to me in such a bitchy, aggravated tone all the time, and who got in a huff whatever I did, then I'd be casting my eye around for a replacement, pronto.

(Sadly I have neither a country pile nor a slew of staff. I am the staffer-type, not the bestaffed.)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 29/07/2014 19:32

I would agree archery except he wasn't like that before she shagged him

She's put up her tent and now she has to sleep in it

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 29/07/2014 19:45

She's put up her tent and now she has to sleep in it Nice!

But I had the impression Lizzie's head has been a little turned by Plod. Either Fallon has a rival or Lizzie is on a rampage towards any reasonably passable man at the moment....

PetulaGordino · 29/07/2014 19:46

if we need a new thread for loxfest "lizzie's put up her tent and now she has to sleep in it" could be a good contender for the title!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 29/07/2014 19:48

He wasn't, no, but he is now. She owns the business (effectively, not sure of the exact legal position given there's a trust) and she could sack him. Of course there's a risk he could claim constructive dismissal or something of that sort but I would say she should pay him off on the grounds that it just isn't working any more. She could go for the double and make Hayley redundant at the same time on the grounds that her enterprises aren't paying their way any more. Then they could shake the dust of Ambridge off their feet. I wouldn't be particularly surprised if Mike and Vicky took Bethany off to Brum either. I remain convinced that the new Editor is carrying out a cull of surplus characters.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 29/07/2014 19:48

Agree about the title!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 29/07/2014 19:56

I know of a company where the majority owner/md was ousted because of all the pretty young girls he was hiring, shaggibg then sacking when they got 'possessive'. It caused outrage and disgust in te papers/general public and he went because sales suffered.

What lizzie has done is no different and I would be really pissed off if the SWs let her off the hook because she's a woman and 'all men are basically gagging for it'

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 29/07/2014 19:57

Mike's rural idyll does seem to be running out of er... road.

If he retires and his household quits Ambridge where will that leave Ed? And what becomes of Brenda's future half of the house?

Fab title idea!

ArcheryAnnie · 29/07/2014 19:59

Well, what Lizzie did was different. She's not a predatory, serial shagger, but someone who made a stupid mistake under unlikely-to-be-repeated circumstances.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 29/07/2014 20:01

The only difference is in numbers!

I predict her hiring pc plot for security and luring him into her tent....

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 29/07/2014 20:02

I agree, Archery. She made an idiotic mistake and a very implausible one, almost as if somebody was making all this up and now she is paying the price.

PseudoBadger · 29/07/2014 20:02

Yuck yuck yuck - "you've always been happy to be hands on in the past" & "you know I've always been happy to get stuck in" :o

I was hoping for a problem with the licence. Still, there's always tomorrow...

And do you think that Mike has a terrible disease causing back pain and tiredness? It is it going to be a pensioned off with family to support story?
