Sexy sex on lovely legs, shearing sheep bare-chested. Tell us how you picture the good folk of Ambridge (and feel free to discuss anything else rural soap-related).

For me, that describes Ed. Some strange people think that it describes Jazzer.
Does it matter what they look like? We know and love their voices (except you Pip)

Borchester echo headline

'Country house burnt down by static electricity from polyester trousers'

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 22/07/2014 15:01

PetulaGordino · 22/07/2014 15:43

Elizabeth could easily find herself with no childcare and no manager all of a sudden

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 15:45

I thought Freddie was a bright boy. Are we really to believe he hasn't told lily?

Hakluyt · 22/07/2014 15:54

Of all the ridiculous, unbelievable plot lines- the Roy /Lizzie one is the worst. It just pisses me off.

Hakluyt · 22/07/2014 15:54

Petula - she doesn't need child care!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 22/07/2014 16:04

Country house burnt down by static electricity from polyester trousers

You take that back BYOS!

Look what you did to Helen's lovely dinner party.....

JohnFarleysRuskin · 22/07/2014 16:07

But how much did Freddie really see? Could be passed off as a hug, no?

I want Elizabeth to confide in someone who will be as shocked as we all are!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 16:10

How about

'Country manor matriarch fleeced at tribunal by toy boy love rat employee who seduced her shortly after her husbands death'

Plus lizzie and the twins doing sad face photos. Liz and lil in pretty dresses of course

I'm also going to predict Susan firebombing the new kitchen the night before the soirée as revenge for not being invited

R4 · 22/07/2014 18:16

Remind me again who (apart from Krusty) was shocked at Hellin and her married man.

I got very confused when I wasn't listening closely last night and they were talking about Kirsty/ Kirstie. It took a while to click that they were talking about Ms Allsop.

PetulaGordino · 22/07/2014 18:34

Sorry I misread earlier comments re Hayley being the nanny but no longer. Had forgotten L and F are older now. Elizabeth would still be screwed of they both quit in terms of running the place (as well as potential for constructive sismissal)

unitarian · 22/07/2014 18:48

R4. Pat was shocked for a while but Helen wore her down. 'Can't you just be happy for me?'

The whole Roy/Elizabeth thing makes me tired but I have high hopes that Susan twittering will bring a plotline or two to the boil.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 19:16

'Ive never done anything this big'

I thought lizzie was skinny?

ppeatfruit · 22/07/2014 19:29

i laughed a lot at yesterday's this aft. good to hear linda on form again, it was funny maybe I'm easily amused.

IIRC some of us were not particularly shocked by the lizroy or the Hellrob storylines as these things (and worse) go on in RL

JohnFarleysRuskin · 22/07/2014 19:33

I didn't mean shocked as in "disgraceful" I meant shocked as "that's too weird" ;)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 19:34

I wasn't shocked by hellrob

I was shocked at the lack of gossip around it and the swift departure of Jess

Lizrota doesn't work for me.

I find the SWs are being a bit predictable.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 19:37

I can just imagine Shula recoiling in horror a the thought of rotaliz rumpy pumpying in the tent. 'What the hell were you thinking - you like bad boys not polyester wearing rota nerds! God I need to be sick. Sorry, help your self to a biscuit'

Selks · 22/07/2014 20:12

Getting increasingly bored by Adam atm. He sounds so wooden.

He could redeem himself though by flipping out and running over the annoying Charlie with a harrow...

GypsyFloss · 22/07/2014 20:32

Nooooo! Not the handsome Charlie!

BasketzatDawn · 22/07/2014 23:25

IMO Adam's always been quite wooden-voiced.

CuttedUpPear · 23/07/2014 07:14

Can we have an agreement now that if there is no mention of the non-divorce by the time this thread is full, the next thread title mentions it?

Something along the lines of "AIBU to get engaged to a married man? Please make topical insert" (Or something more catchy).

I think it's the only way we will be able to get the sensationalist character skewing SWs attention.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 23/07/2014 08:28

I do suspect that "Quinten Smith" were precipitately formed after people pointed out that every headlining band in the world would have been booked up ages ago....

It's odd; I used to scoff when they brought in RL celebs, but this is even worse.

Caught my annual Emmerdale episode last night. Comedy wedding ended with a hidden husband turning up - and both he and the "bride" being carted off by plod. Bet Jess was watching...

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 23/07/2014 08:55

I can't bear an overly soap storyline. Tom and Kirsty's wedding that wasn't was bad enough. The story writing is very daily mail

So we now have stereotypes about rock bands

Oh, and I'm half expecting ifty to have secretly indoctrinated Freddie who runs away to fight in syria. I mean ifty is a Muslim and a teacher adn the daily mail tells us that's completely plausible right? Gotta get some current affairs in

R4 · 23/07/2014 09:45

Can I backtrack and harrumph about something that happened the other day.
I was very anti-AmEx. TA is a programme on Radio4, it shouldn't have offshoots in other places. It shouldn't have things going on elsewhere. I was very pleased when Mr New Editor killed off AmEx.
Except, are we going to get offair stuff on Facebook and Twitter instead? Is it even within BBC guidelines? I totally get that campaigns these days use the internet but shouldn't it be some made-up-name/other-platforms-are-also-available medium?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 23/07/2014 10:23

R4, what have I missed?
