For me, that describes Ed. Some strange people think that it describes Jazzer.
Does it matter what they look like? We know and love their voices (except you Pip)

But he was drunk too

And in a professional scenario being drunk isn't an excuse either. She is his enployer and there are responsibilities that come with that role.

The last place I worked a senior maha a ONS with a PA at the work Xmas party. To him it was a fling but she became very stalker ish and was eventually sacked and got a pay off before it hit tribunal.

I feel the phrase 'don't shit on your own doorstep' is very apt here (or 'don't shit in the entrance of your tent')

Bluestocking · 21/07/2014 22:19

Some great lines from Piggoi and Jennifer, musing about poor Rob's dysfunctional family ... of course, neither of them could begin to imagine what a dysfunctional family might look like.
Bri-nylon Roy is becoming really creepy. I don't like The Lizzard one little bit but I wouldn't like to be in her kitten heels (which are definitely backless, judging from the clicky slappy noises) with him alternately sliming around and getting aggressive. They have both behaved appallingly and it can't end well, unless the Ambridge Job Fairy finds that Grey Gables is suddenly in need of Roy's genius with a rota. And Hayley is sure to put two and two together, she's not daft (although she is being written pretty daft at the moment - "remember me, I'm the funny one"? Does anyone remember Hayley being funny?)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/07/2014 22:26

Didn't she mean the funny one in her marriage? That's not a hard title to win when te only other contender is Roy!

Bluestocking · 21/07/2014 22:31

I bet you're right, BuildYourOwn - that's quite sad really. So we hve the tragically dreary one and the not-quite-so-tragic one. And Feebs and Babby Abby.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/07/2014 22:36

Feebs needs to spend more time with Brian

Who is funny in ambridge? I know hey set Kenton up as the joker but I always see him as a bit naff. The kind of man who wears a comedy tie and is overly loud because he thinks he's so funny

Bluestocking · 21/07/2014 22:42

Matt has some wonderful dry one-liners. No-one else is even remotely funny, intentionally.

Kenton has a "you don't have to be mad to work here but it helps" sign hanging over his head; he has been encouraged by his rather dim family to think he's funny, and perhaps he was the funny one when he was a member of a Merchant Navy crew, but he isn't actually funny at all.

I did like Lizzie's line about trying to stop Bert Froi from making a blockage on the stairs!

BasketzatDawn · 21/07/2014 22:43

The impression I got on Sunday is that Peggy has assumed Knob and Jess are already divorced. After all, in her neat world nobody would promise to marry another till it's all tidy from the previous one.

I think with Hayley there will be a few more incidents, then Hayley will guess what is happening. She may be dull but she isn't daft IMO.

Isn't the situation with JD and the funeral of JT a bit contrived? Would a grown woman 'in her position' behave like that? I think Peggy knows fine what is going on, but finds it quite tiresome. As do I.

I missed tonight's epi. I fell asleep!! Mr B has given me a rundown. I hasten to point out I fell asleep before, not during. Smile

With the 'guru' typo, maybe it's an omen that it's time Ambridge had a gurdwara. Can you imagine the talk. Grin

stilllearnin · 21/07/2014 22:45

I am still chuckling from Susan on twitter. It's too funny for me even to comment on!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/07/2014 22:46

Ah yes, matt. Maybe feebs should get an internship there. Lillian can be quite funny at times.

stilllearnin · 21/07/2014 22:47

In fact I was musing on stopping listening (quite so regularly for a while) and endless possibilities of that drew me right back in!!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/07/2014 22:48

I missed it tonight! What were the highlights?

BasketzatDawn · 22/07/2014 00:11

The only detail I can now recall is that Moike has a hurting back. It must be infectious/something in the water as didn't Brian have sciatica a few weeks ago? Confused I'm sure he could have had a different body part hurt, his foot or leg or summat. I refuse to listen to what I missed. It will all happen whether I hear or not ......

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 22/07/2014 07:07

Susan set up a Twitter account. Lynda is on there already and so is Emma, so Emma coached Susan through it. I liked that bit. Susan also took the opportunity to tell Emma all about Jennifer's extramarital adventures with John T and Roger Travers-Macy. That was good too as we don't hear nearly enough gossip in Ambridge. I want to hear Susan on the subject of Rob Titchmarsh. Ed has double booked himself with both Adam and Mike and is fretting about it. I think that's it.

Brian has some wonderful dry one-liners too. Long ago, Nelson Gabriel was highly amusing.

Bluestocking · 22/07/2014 07:36

Yes, Mimsy, you're right - dear old Brine does have some cracking one-liners. And now I think of it, Jazzer sometimes says something funny.

Re Radio Carter on twitter and the JD/JT story, are we being set up for a gossip-tastrophe where she thinks she's sending a private message and ends up telling the entire twittersphere that they DTD in the archives of the Borsetshire Records Office?

stilllearnin · 22/07/2014 07:51

So who's volunteering to set up a fake Susan carter twitter account- bet someone's beat me to it!

Hakluyt · 22/07/2014 07:57

And Kirsty Allsop is opening the fete.

She will obviously see Fallon's scumbleglazing and give her a job on telly.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 08:50

That explains the crappy upcycling storyline then

I'dbe pissed of if I were Kirstie that that's the best they could come up with.

Read the synopsis on low field - looks like Susan's lost invite could lead to some bitchy revenge gossiping!

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/07/2014 09:07

Just popping in (have visitors, which seriously disrupts the amout of time I can give to TA and MN) with my latest prediction...

Tichknob will tell Hellin that his divorce from Jess has come through and the Ambridge Wedding of The Year will be planned...

But will Hellin learn the truth in time? dun dun DUN!

R4 · 22/07/2014 10:01

Another Wedding of the Year at Bridge Farm?Hmm

My theory (?or have I nicked someone else's theory?) is that Knob is waiting for Jess to inherit from her father's estate so he can claim 50% of it.

unitarian · 22/07/2014 10:07

My brain tells me that Lizzie is seriously in the wrong as an employer having a ONS with an employee but my gut tells me that Roy took the lead and set out to seduce her. As he's a married man, I think he's more morally compromised than Lizzie.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 10:21

I think lizzie is more morally corrupt as the employer!

And I just can't see Roy as capable of successfully executing a seduction plan!! I mean Hayley was still gettibg over dangerous and bad John so I can see she craved boring and safe. Lizzie has no excuse.

I would have thought that Jess could successfully argue that the inheritance should be kept out of play given the circumstances

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 10:22

Bigamy would be a bit too eastenders surely?

R4 · 22/07/2014 11:31

Rob won't commit bigamy - surely the whole idea is to get his claws into Helen's inheritances (Bridge Farm, The Lodge, etc).

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/07/2014 11:44

I just hope they don't go down the 'will they, won't they' track again with Helen fleeing the church as she realises what an abusive knob he is.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 22/07/2014 14:55

Lizzie is the employer of both Roy and Hayley. Hayley was her children's nanny and they are still very fond of her. This makes her actions utterly reprehensible.

However, Roy as a married person and a father has an absolute duty to put his spouse and family first and ignore all the funny feelings he has in the polyester trouser area every time he sees his boss.
