Or vice versa?

Which would you rather?

So basically, MrsWembley, Helen is going to turn into Carrie. I'd love that! :)

applesandcider · 23/12/2010 02:36

I think that Will Grundy is going to crack, go off the rails and run amock with a shotgun. There's been hints of his terrible temper for weeks......

fishie · 23/12/2010 08:26

well now we know that will and ed will be together on xmas day...

Merryhohohomammoth · 23/12/2010 08:57

Maybe they will have a celeb appearance. Perhaps Cheryl will drop in to the Bull, or the pope might be diverted and land on the village green in his helicopter to deliver his blessing.

HarlotOTara · 23/12/2010 10:05

I think a Will and Ed showdown is a red herring, although Ed'n'Em deserve to be punished severely. I reckon something will happen at Lower Loxley but don't think death will come into it - there have been two this year, can we cope with any more? I would love Helen to be sectioned and never hear from her again - she makes my nose itch.

Maybe a mine shaft will appear under Lower Loxley and Ruth, Pip, Lizzie, Shula, Kathy, Susan and Jennifer will fall into it, also Ruth's mum and Kate will stay in SA and we never need to hear from her again either.

God I hate the lot of them but still listen everyday

Fibilou · 23/12/2010 10:13

Marion, this may help, it does all the way through from the show's inception to 2000

Fibilou · 23/12/2010 10:14

I can think of something that will rock the whole village - if Jill dies, where on earth will they get their emergency casseroles ?

WintervalPansy · 23/12/2010 10:27

I'd like a nineteenth-century inheritance plot in the style of the Quincunx, which would see the Grundys revealed as rightful heirs to Lower Loxley and the Pargetters thrown on the mercies of the Parish.

GrendelsMum · 23/12/2010 11:04

I Listened Again to the episode where Nigel mentions insurance, and it was only insurance of the skating rink, not of Lower Loxley itself. So I think that the chances of Lower Loxley burning down have just gone down, rather.

carocaro · 23/12/2010 11:30

If the yoghurt mislabelling drama is anything to go by we are in for a corker!

HarlotOTara · 23/12/2010 11:47

Winterval wouldn't that be one in the eye for Elizabeth!
Carocaro - agree, bit like the jolly japes associated with the Grundies and the God awful panto every sodding year.

WintervalPansy · 23/12/2010 12:33

Ferrets roaming the treetop walk, gnomes in the orangery and a pole barn beyond the ha-ha Grin.

Acekicker · 23/12/2010 13:13

The youghurt mislabelling summed up everything I love about the Archers, they have 14 minutes a day, they're clearly building up to a major plot and they still managed to devote a huge chunk of Tuesday's episode to yoghurt (and hold my attention!)...

MrsWembley · 23/12/2010 15:18

earwicga You know, Carrie never even occured to me, but now... oh yes. Helen in a rage with a mix of pregnancy hormones and just sheer bloody-mindedness. She's taken against her father and that leads her to take against the rest of the clan. With the whole family under one roof it's the ideal time for vengenceShock!!!

zisforzebra · 23/12/2010 19:17

Well, as the mobile's tinkly tune fades away this evening, I'm deffo putting money on something happening to either Hell or the baby or both.

That was the cheerful tinkle of doom.

ragged · 23/12/2010 19:23

Neah, that's the warning bells that H + Tony will have a tearjerker rappochement tomorrow eve.

Jazzer topping Harry for getting it off with Fallon, now that I could well see :).

duvetdays · 23/12/2010 22:33

arentfanny - are you one of the scriptwriters? you suggested something that almost happened tonight. (although it wasn't totally unpredictable as men in fancy dress are given to idiocy).

My first TA shock was hearing Polly Perks Sid's first wife) getting run over by the milk float or something. Also Shula turning down her future hubby, Mark Hebden the first time when she was about 18 on top of Lakey Hill. Did i dream that? If so, can somebody put me right?

DuffyMoon · 23/12/2010 22:59

on tonights someone asked what was up with Emma - she looked fed up....and the reply was "oh she just sick of Nick being the blue eyed girl" hmmmmmmmm

WintervalPansy · 23/12/2010 23:40

Ohh my Rick Turnip theory is warming up!

WintervalPansy · 24/12/2010 00:01

...except I hadn't listened to the end and it turned out to be just Lower Loxley sex play. Darn.

arentfanny · 24/12/2010 08:05

Thank you for that but no I am not, wish I was though.

I dind't listne last night, must catch up today.

SpringHeeledJack · 24/12/2010 13:35

Acekicker I, too, loved the mislabled yogurt saga

...when dp came in that night and asked me what had happened in TA (he asks about TA before he asks about the kids, generally) I found myself repeating the whole sorry tale at length, finishing off with "...apart from the yogurts, not much"

Grin
SpringHeeledJack · 24/12/2010 14:14

...evil aaaands swap Kenton's pistol for a real one, with hilarious consequences at LL

comeonbishbosh · 24/12/2010 14:57

Enjoying this thread immensely. This is an audition for script-writing duties right?

I'm going for hay rustling emergency has Pip run over and kill Ruth and therefore has to take over joint running of the farm with David while coping with Enormous Guilt. My outside bet is something involving Linda Snell but hope not... Harry isn't quite ready to step into her shoes yet.

If we have a non-aged death (satisfying SATTC) then it needs to be a woman as we've already had two husbands die this year.

Or, needs to be destruction of some Thing integral to the village i.e. LL, church, the bull. Of which LL seems most likely given the recent plotlines.

bea · 24/12/2010 19:17

my money is on Lizzie croaking it... they've had a prominent storyline so far... freddy and lilly etc... and nigel keeps going on at lizzie to take it easy etc... think her heart will give out and then nigel will reassess the whole freddy and lilly thing and let them go to... horror of horrors... the local school! Shock
