Thread II.......Oh dear

OP posts:
OuchFriggingBludger · 14/07/2011 22:32

even the zip on the foot muff is watertight!

aswellasyou · 14/07/2011 22:39

JL only sell black and red and only the dark grey seat units. There are actually loads of colours for the comfort packs so it's a shame they don't do any others.

aswellasyou · 14/07/2011 22:41

I want one! SadEnvy

OuchFriggingBludger · 14/07/2011 22:50

if you're ever in hampshire, you can come and play with mine Grin

Guildfordnanny · 14/07/2011 23:04

I would love the foot muffs..but there's no point me buying them :( Like you say it's the attention to detail. The carrycot has a magnetic flap so you can stand the folded piece up or fold it back. I love the shiny elbow joint the best :) The insect net has a cover over the zip to stop bugs getting through any tiny gap that the zip makes! I like the changing box although I wish it fitted underneath in double mode. I like the rubber on the tyres. I love the armadillo hoods even if they aren't entirely practical and need taking off to stack the seats etc. The Kobi is truly an experience......and that's what you get...more than simply a pushchair. I never ever thought I would be a fan, but having used one, I love it.

OuchFriggingBludger · 14/07/2011 23:23

im the same,i saw pictures of it,with a toddler in (winters day,kid wearing a BIG coat, looks v v squashed) and thought it was awful, just a showy pushchair.

but its not,not at all.
it's beautiful, and practical, comfortable for adult and child ,i LOVE the handle bar,(a lot of handlebars annoy meGrin)
and i love it in single mode just as much (if not more)

blimey, this might actually be 'The One' Shock

Guildfordnanny · 15/07/2011 00:03

Ditto, ditto, ditto. I thought I was crazy writing about how perfect the handlebar was....but it's clearly not just me! It is perfect! I am glad you are happy :)

OuchFriggingBludger · 15/07/2011 08:15

right, the seller doent have a harness, never did apparently Confused
so what do i do,do i have to go in to john lewis to order it? and then wait for it to turn up??? Confused

Guildfordnanny · 15/07/2011 09:37

I guess so. Would they not take an order over the phone?

aswellasyou · 15/07/2011 11:03

Frigging hell Frigg! The One?!Shock Surely not!Grin
Why didn't he say the harness was missing in his listing? Hmm It's times like this when having paid by PayPal might have helped getting some money returned. Not that I ever tried when the basket of my Gecko had a massive hole in it-I didn't want them to tell me to send it back!Grin

Try calling John Lewis. This is their customer service number: 08456 049 049 But this is the number they say to call from abroad which is a landline so should be cheaper: +44 (0)1698 54 54 54

saoirse86 · 15/07/2011 11:55

Oh dear I need a mima! Sad Envy

frigg will you let me know 9 months in advance of when you'll want to sell it so I can get DP drunk and then I'll get ride of or hide all the doubles aswell keeps buying so that I need a kobi?! Wink

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon · 15/07/2011 13:21

Does any one else do this?

Dh I have decided to sell my Cam, I am happy with this as I am still very happy with the combo of the Bee+ and Babboe especially the Babboe in the Winter.

But with all my prams, once I've cleaned them (which I do regularly as I'm sad), and take the photos. I look at the photos and think ooooooh its so nice I want it! Even though I don't anymore.

Please please tell me it's not just me Blush

Frigg JL got spares for my friends Sivler Cross when MC whom she bought it from said she'd have to buy a new accessory pack, they have ties to the manufacturer so are more willing to help.

Tabitha8 · 15/07/2011 14:04

Suzie Thanks for the info about the Oyster apron on the Flyer.
I have my Flyer and I think it is perfect. Just what I should have bought 18 mths ago! Grin

MonkeysPunk · 15/07/2011 14:32

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon - I do exactly the same when polishing up a pram to sell - I have to remind myself that there's a reason I'm selling it (ie - it's not working well for us - or, I need the funds!).... Blush
Good luck with your sales!

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon · 15/07/2011 15:02

Oh I'm so glad it's not me......that's why I'm not getting a flyer despite the temptation, as I know I couldn't go through with selling the Bee +, infact if they invented an option to have all terrain wheels on it (wishes really hard), my buggy addiction would probably end. I'm even taking it on holiday, normally by now I'd have bought a new stroller for the trip, but I'm taking the Bee and a Mei Tai and nothing else.

If I had needed a double I think I'd pick the Kobi though, the Donkeys too wide for me.

MonkeysPunk · 15/07/2011 15:30

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon you should stop wishing for all terrain wheels for your bee and take a look at the Uppababy vista - you still have the nippyness - and ease of pushing - but the wheels do a lot better off road! (plus you get the enormous basket beneath - which would be handy on holiday)! The suspension isn't quite the same - but it's not far off. It's definately easier up and down kerbs than the bee too.

I ordered mine from www.amazon.com - it came 3.5 days after I ordered - that's pretty awesome! (I think kiddicare had one or two in stock also recently).

Sorry - I'm not really helping am I.....

Did I mention that uppababy should be releasing the colour change fabric sets in the UK soon too.... and the snack tray.

MonkeysPunk · 15/07/2011 15:38

Did I mention the large pull out UV shade on the Vista.....or the rear hood flap that toggles back to turn the hood "breezy"..... very useful in the warm weather - and these features are always to hand - not add-on things you have to remember to carry with you!

suzie38 · 15/07/2011 15:53

Tabitha8...The Oyster apron works best with the footrest up for your info...I'm still loving my Flyer...Going to get a Flite as well but can't decide on the color.

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon · 15/07/2011 17:08

Noooooo! The Uppababy is too big!

What I want it the Bee with four big rear cam wheels. Like a mini fitted with monster truck tyres Grin

MonkeysPunk · 15/07/2011 17:14

Sadly I don't think the bee wheels could be pimped - as the rear ones don't come off!

Your next best bet IS the Vista! [hgrin]

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon · 15/07/2011 17:15

I know that Monkey

but I want the Bee + 4X4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

saoirse86 · 15/07/2011 22:05

I think every pushchair should come with 4 spare big tyres. That's not too much to ask, surely!

And easily adjustable straps like you get on a car seat so you push the button and pull the straps to release, and pull the one strap at the bottom to tighten. Easy! And then you don't need to fiddle so much when putting different children in the same seat.

saoirse86 · 15/07/2011 22:06

Oh dear, I should save these ideas for our pushchair company! Wink

OuchFriggingBludger · 15/07/2011 22:14

i really need to sort this harness....im putting it off as i hate phoning people, but i really have to as i cant get to JL any time soon!Sad

i always wanted big wheels for the bee too honey tis annoying....the Kobi's wheels are lovely Grin

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon · 15/07/2011 22:23

In the Bees defence I'm rather rural and it's coped admirably so far ...... but it could be perfecto Grin

I keep looking at the kobi now Blush
