Thread II.......Oh dear

OP posts:
MonkeysPunk · 08/07/2011 08:55

So are those hankering after the Mima Kobi going to "customize" with a set of pens then? Wink

saoirse86 · 08/07/2011 10:35

MonkeysPunk My connection's not good enough to watch that. Is that how they did the unicef ones then? Children, pens and a very expensive pushchair don't seem to go in my mind! Hmm

frigg you're wearing the MN equivalent of a false moustache and a hat with hair attached to it. Wink

GN I like that Orbit, I don't think it's ugly, I think it's interesting (am I wrong?), but it's really quite expensive.

Hello again Daisy! Tell us, what have you acquired so far?
As long as I don't look at the Orbit from this angle, it doesn't look like a foetus. I keep changing my mind about it but I think it depends on what position the seat's in. It wouldn't need much tweeking to make it less foetus like more aesthetically pleasing.

Guildfordnanny · 08/07/2011 11:42

Hi Daisybell! What pushchairs are you clutching just out of interest?
That video is great :) I would love to decorate a Mima seat. My favourite is the flower one. I don't think that one got sold in the auction. What amused me about the Kobi instructions is that any marks can be simply rubbed off with an eraser! The material is most odd. I was terrified of damaging it because it feels very luxurious, but it's very robust. At first I would make sure I placed the seats down on a soft surface but after DD's shoes left scrape marks (as kids shoes do on pushchair footwells) and they simply wiped off, I realised how robust the seat material is.
Frigg I understand now lol! I need to play catch up. I saw each of the first films on the day the previews were released but haven't seen any of the ones that have come out since the children were born :(
But it's my birthday today. Sadly there is no wrapped Donkey but I have got a nice shiny bike :) Hubby made a gorgeous card with DD and he has made me a cake. We are off in a minute to see butterflies, meerkats and crocodiles!

Daisybell1 · 08/07/2011 11:51

Well, since you ask......

1 Vintage Urban Detour (for use on the farm where we live)
2 Chicco Traditional pram with carry cot - slightly mouse nibbled - (for my mum to use)
3 Umbrella fold stroller
4 Herqules Raptor 3 Spin (The Love of my Life), with carrycot and car seat adaptors

Would be less embarrassing if I actually had a baby to put in them - am only 30 weeks PG.

The best bit (for me) is the above little haul cost me £65 Grin

saoirse86 · 08/07/2011 12:08

Grin Daisy! It sounds like you could have more by the time the baby actually arrives. Wink

MonkeysPunk · 08/07/2011 13:39

I'm tempted to pop along to JL to see if they have a kobi... how would the hoods fare in rain (without raincover)?
Would the seat be big enough for 3y old?
Can it be folded with seat on?
The kobi looks cool, although obviously inspired by an egg...

MonkeysPunk · 08/07/2011 13:51

Psst! WWW.pramworld.co.UK are getting a handful of the special edition maclaren Volos in dylans candy bar design. Available to preorder from them now.£125

suzie38 · 08/07/2011 16:52

DD is impressed with the Orbit Baby stroller!!!

And is the Dylans candy bar something special???

suzie38 · 08/07/2011 17:03

And the Orbit's suppose to be coming to the UK this year...Any feelers GN

Guildfordnanny · 08/07/2011 18:37

Monkeys - the Kobi really needs a raincover. The water just pools into drops. It wouldn't damage anything apart from getting a bit wet though I wouldn't have thought. We got caught in rain and it simply wiped off. My daughter is very tall (growing out of age 3/4 clothes) and she fits fine with space. She tends to dangle her legs (sometimes rests them) but she now dangles legs off most pushchairs. She looks very comfy in the seat. Have you seen the photos on Best Buggy You can fold the Kobi with one seat on. It's a fairly large fold but not enormous. I can get it and both seats in my car boot with the bumper bars removed. It is gorgeous to push - really easy. I love the design features like the shiny elbow joints and the sexiest fold ever (in hubby's words!).
Suzie - I haven't heard anything about the Orbit but I might do some asking!

MonkeysPunk · 08/07/2011 20:02

Think dylans candy bar must be an American store or something... the volo stroller in "dylans candy bar" is very rainbow like with lollipops on the liner and a special raincover decorated with sweets. I'm not sure but think it could be ltd edition too. More info at pramworld or maclarens fb page.

suzie38 · 08/07/2011 20:25

Yes i had a look at Winstanley's site, where i incidently got my Vista from...Couldn't get a close up look apart from it was highly colored...Will take a gander on the Maclaren site...Not that i'll buy one as i'm getting a Flite at some point...Not a big fan of Maclaren, though i leave a Quest at my parents house.

OuchFriggingBludger · 08/07/2011 22:25
