Thread II.......Oh dear

OP posts:
suzie38 · 30/06/2011 08:35

I'm lucky in that i've generally got footmuffs/seat liners that already match though made an exception with the Flyer...Thinking of just turning up at the Parcelforce office today as i have the tracking number and have ID and proof of address...Save them the hassle of wasted delivery because we're out a lot of the time.

suzie38 · 30/06/2011 08:39

Oooh...Buggy snuggle do a giraffe one as well.

suzie38 · 30/06/2011 08:39

Like Uppababy, Bumbleride are bringing out fabric sets later in the year so may go for my Ruby choice then.

suzie38 · 30/06/2011 08:43

Ask your DS what he likes best, it's what i tend to do with DD at the moment though she got it spectaculary wrong with the Oyster apple pack though...Think i might sell that soon even though i've only just bought it...Got it for £170 with extras so will sell extras off seperately so may make a little bit.

Guildfordnanny · 30/06/2011 10:54

Monkey I would be inclined to go for plain black fleece and let the yellow show through. Just watch the charcoal pompoms. It looks great on screen but something like your my granny would have knitted. It's really rough and bitty as if a white cat sat on it. I wish they did it in furry fleece though. I think the sheep designs are the same woolly feel. I personally would choose anything in the furry fleece but it's a personal choice - you may love the rough look Wink

MonkeysPunk · 30/06/2011 11:25

Going to have another look later at buggysnuggles ... won't go for the pompoms then. Thanks for the advice.
I'm also thinking something like the black.. or possibly zebra, not sure.
The yellow fabric really shines in the sun. Quite a metallic effect!
I did a huge shop today, fitted it all into the basket beneath.

mumtoaandj · 30/06/2011 11:43

i am a lurker! needing help- am wanting a list of old or cheap in money rear facing pushchairs suitable for a 21 month old who is tall but skinny- not matter if it folds in 2 but ideally better if it fits in a ford Ka boot (grandads car).

Guildfordnanny · 30/06/2011 11:48

Try a Quinny Zapp Xtra. It may be cheaper to buy an old chassis (which will be easier to fold) and a separate seat unit to convert it.

Tabitha8 · 30/06/2011 18:04

The Zapp Xtra doesn't rear-face in an upright position, sadly.
How about the M&P Sola? Mind you, the hood doesn't give much protection from the sun.

Suzie glad you are pleased with your Flyer. I am going to press that buy button any day now! Grin

MonkeysPunk · 30/06/2011 20:50

My vista is so light to push! I am definately. Feeling the suspension working too. That aspect is even better than i had anticipated.
I didn't get a snuggle bag sorted as our internets been rubbish all day.

FriggFRIGG · 30/06/2011 21:15

ooooh i really want one!!Envy

MonkeysPunk · 01/07/2011 06:37

Finally ordered the ganoosh from winstanleys using my Android! I figured is get the proper one as it will accomodate the recline lever at the top of the seat in its hookover. Bought in grey/silver. Kind of hoping for old version with fuzzy lining but don't mind too much.
This big basket is definately something to like. Especially with a child doing cookery at school today, and sports day and picnics and the summer fayre all coming up soon.
Praying some eBay stuff I have listed sells soon though!

MonkeysPunk · 01/07/2011 10:33

Uploaded some videos to youtube of our vista today. Can't link here from my Android. If u want to see search "uppababy vista Maya park" sorry they're not demos. Just Ds pushing it along... and into a ditch at one point too. Lol

suzie38 · 01/07/2011 16:30

I've got one of those bags though probably a different design...Might get a second as i get fed up of swapping them around...Cool videos Smile

Guildfordnanny · 01/07/2011 18:07

What are the bottle holders on your frame? They look ace! Cute video.

MonkeysPunk · 01/07/2011 20:30

The bottle holders are made by bagabottle, they have their own website or they also sell on eBay. I got the handlebar bag off them too. Its so useful!
This afternoon I cut a grey shorthaired fleece rug (ikea) to fit the vista. Looks nice and protects the seat. Nice for Ds to sit on in this hot weather too.

suzie38 · 01/07/2011 20:56

I managed to collect my Indie from the depot yesterday without any hassle...Had to pay £25 VAT plus £8 PO charge...I'm pretty sure it's no MB quality wise...DH took it out last night and i used it this evening...Pushes fine but not as nice as the Donkey but then it's less than 1/3 of the price...Plus i'm not a 3 wheeler fan but need the Indie to use if we have bad weather this Winter...DD loves hanging off the bumper bar which has a variety of settings...Seat lies almost flat and pretty upright for a strap system...Like the adjustable footrest...Hoods massive when open so makes a great sunshade...Handle is too high on one setting and an inch too low on the next settling though i use the lower one...My giraffe footmuff fits perfectly and looks great so we're set for a cold Winter though hoping that means we have a mild one...It's wider than the Donkey but doesn't look it because of the handle...The fold is a little messy looking and i know i'll miss the freestanding of the Swift...Though once i get the house sorted and pushchairs sold off, hopefully it'll fit in a cupboard out of the way.

suzie38 · 01/07/2011 20:59

I've listed my last Vigour tonight...One lady was interested in my other two but faffed so other people got them...So emailed to say she was upset...Said i had another Vigour to list once i'd fully cleaned it...Great she replied only to then say when i gone to the hassle of a massive text and photo, did i have another 3 wheeler??? Does she think i'm a seller of unlimited Vigours!!! Wink Smile

FriggFRIGG · 01/07/2011 21:46

yes suzie, she probably thinks you've got hundreds stashed away!!Grin

i listed my MB urban double two days ago,and i think ive screwed up the listing because ive got 50+ views, but only 3 watchers and no offers at all Sad

i need it to sell!! i WANT A VISTA!!!!

MonkeysPunk · 01/07/2011 22:07

I'm contemplating which other pram to sell to pay (some of) my cc bill... I have the bj summit, and the swift.
Vista is staying as my everyday buggy, due to light easy push, enourmous basket and parent facing mode.
I might have to sell the swift! [Shock]
It's not that I don't love it, but the bj may be needed this winter, has loads of growing room in it, handbrake and all wheel suspension. It's also the best for the beach.
I would love to keep the swift too, but haven't Storage space for 3 prams. Also I need some money so it will have to go!

MonkeysPunk · 01/07/2011 22:11

Suzie38 I'm glad you got your indie safely without too much tax to pay.
I'm still not sure how to work out if my vista had customs charges or not... will probably email amazon next week and enquire.

Guildfordnanny · 01/07/2011 22:40

Glad you got your Indie ok although it's a bit Grr having to pay. Monkeys...you can't sell your Swift :( I was relying on you to convince me we need one!

suzie38 · 02/07/2011 09:20

I think the reason why Bumbleride couldn't sell products directly over here is neither of mine have secondary locking devices.

Guildfordnanny · 02/07/2011 11:20

I have just bought a Pear! It's purely to have a play with though because I need to know more about it. A bit mad I know but hubby said it was ok. I am watching some other doubles too.

aswellasyou · 02/07/2011 11:38

Guildford, have you ever tried one of these? It looks a bit like a game oof pick up sricks but I've read that it's 12kg so fairly good for a double.
