It's at the rail junction or smth. Of course it will put ppl off. It's probably ex-council, people were supposed to live for free in such location.

What do you mean, live for free?

If you could live with 1 bed OP , this is lovely, nice interior, shared freehold, ground floor, pretty garden, attractive house and street. It’s also quite a lot less money - in all honesty I think this would hold its money probably better- although in all fairness we don’t know the one you are buying - can only guess it’s similar the ones you posted - it’s also really quick to loads of facilities on doorstep

It’s really horrible. You could buy somewhere really nice for that amount of money in a different part of the UK.

I think it's a maisonette if it has its own ground floor entrance. I lived in one and having its own front door onto the street made it much more private and secure than sharing a front door, hallway, stairs etc with other flats.

I still think a maisonette has to have stairs inside it. Ie be two storeys plus. But be in a building that also contains at least one flat.

Else it's just a flat with an outside door or door up external steps.

Does anyone know if these were houses back in the day? They look like they were built in the 70s and then carved up at a later date to make flats, just wondering!

I’ve asked chat gbt for the history and it says they were built in the 1930s and they’re purpose built flats
