Yeah I'm sure that not right. To me it's a building that contains a two storey dwelling (maisonette) that has flats above or below it.

Anything on one floor that isn't a bungalow is a flat. In my view.

Agreed

It looks about as cheap, basic and grim as I can imagine.

There is nothing at all appealing about this flat, I can't see a single redeeming feature.

Oasisinthearea · 18/05/2026 09:39

It’s usually the ground rent and service charges (?) that make people think twice.

HoldItAllTogether · 18/05/2026 09:41

Not sure why the replies are so negative. I can’t comment on price as I don’t know the area but I could have that flat looking lovely in a week. The rooms are good sizes and they are nice and bright. The kitchen is ok.

ButterYellowFlowers · 18/05/2026 09:42

Dirty, garden is a mess, looks like a retirement home and is right at the end of the tube line.

summersolsticesoon · 18/05/2026 09:46

hie many years are left on the lease?
How much in the service charge ?

good size bedrooms and reception rooms.

Lots of positives but suspect overpriced depending on condition of the bathroom and length of the lease, otherwise cosmetic improvements would make a huge difference.

Are you ok? Why so angry?

because you claimed I had not done something which was patently untrue.
I note you still fail to acknowledge that error.

250 left on the lease and £145 service charge. Peppercorn ground rent.

I think it’s probably a lot worse in person lol

I said I could only find one of them on right move…I didn’t say you didn’t provide links

perhaps you’d like to apologise to me for accusing me of something I haven’t done and being angry at me for absolutely no reason.
if you want to argue with someone, please go and high jack someone else’s thread.

And also if I’ve missed something, perhaps that was a mistake? No need to be so angry.

This is on the same road - is it better do you think?

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/87572097

Hell yeah.
All though the current grey white combo it is clean and fresh the other is a beige bland mess
The backyard is depressing on the first

Yes agreed. The second one is a lot nicer

This too worth a look Op if you could go as far as Enfield - very tidy interior, own door, shared freehold, zero service charges, garden etc and looks a very tidy area on street view.

it’s the private garden aspect that is more restricting as it mainly means conversions it slightly older very small blocks - some fantastic choices I haven’t given you in that range if you could live with ground floor, communal gardens and nearby park and in nicer overall areas- am happy to look for you if you feel you ‘might ‘ be making the wrong pick. Never too late if you haven’t exchanged to change your mind - I enjoy doing it!!

Check out this 2 bedroom maisonette for sale on Rightmove

2 bedroom maisonette for sale in Lyndhurst Gardens, Enfield, EN1 for £350,000. Marketed by Equity Estate Agents, Enfield Town

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 18/05/2026 14:51

@Curly12345 I would say these are ex council maisonettes built off the larger road. There’s another close that’s very similar just up the road. They have concrete roads and are clearly not the same quality as houses on the larger road, Westpole avenue. So the area is ok but they are almost certainly ex council.

Happyhappyday · 18/05/2026 17:14

Location. Willing to compromise on some things but if it’s a shit location due to train lines, you can’t change that and it will 100% put future buyers off. And that’s not a flat you want to live in longer than absolutely necessary.

i really appreciate this but it’s a bit too far. Barnet and Cockfosters are the only areas I can go to.

No issue - is Southgate too out of range ?

Unfortunately. It needs to be on or close to the 384 route or 184

End of the Piccadilly line I think...

Does anyone know if these were houses back in the day? They look like they were built in the 70s and then carved up at a later date to make flats, just wondering!
