Do you love your dishwasher?

I need a new one and a decent one. Large family so need it to work hard and be robust. Messed up the last choice and it only lasted 18 months and I don't want to make to same mistake again.

We can see this thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best dishwasher page with plenty of great options that are loved by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

I have a Bosch. It's worked well for over 10 years. I love it!

LemonRoses · 13/04/2021 19:58

I wouldn’t say I loved it. It’s functional and we’ve had it a long time. It does the job. It’s a Miele and came with the house. Must be 15 years old.

mogtheexcellent · 13/04/2021 19:58

Yes but you can't have him.

FindingMeno · 13/04/2021 20:00

I just wash up.
No expensive decisions that way.

Oly4 · 13/04/2021 20:01

Miele, we’ve been through a few and this is the best

PMcGintysGoat · 13/04/2021 20:01

Bosch dishwasher here, can't fault it, last one lasted about 8 or 9 years.

Decide if you want a cutlery basket in the bottom, or a cutlery tray at the top, you get either version. The trays are great from the perspective of cutlery and give good room in the bottom, but you lose a little height in the other two trays, which can be less good if you have very tall glasses that need to be fitted into the top tray.

MoMuntervary · 13/04/2021 20:02

I'd marry mine. It's a Bosch, 13 years old and going strong despite constant abuse with sweetcorn, porridge and sticky labels. I also never put salt in it or rinse aid. Marvellous thing.

notagainmummy · 13/04/2021 20:02

Bosch is ancient but still going strong

Floralnomad · 13/04/2021 20:03

I’ve got a Bosch , very happy with it .

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 13/04/2021 20:03

I am currently washing up but I'm a childminder too and it's taking too much time out of the working day. Plus I would have a massive gap in my kitchen once the old one is dumped 😂

I love my Bosch dishwasher.

Roselilly36 · 13/04/2021 20:04

We have recently brought a Bosch, performs well, quiet, pleased with it so far. I have had a dishwasher for years I couldn’t be without one, I think the latest one, is the 5th dw I have purchased.

showmethegin · 13/04/2021 20:04

Please buy one, your life will change. Overnight.

harriethoyle · 13/04/2021 20:08

Oh I love my dishwasher. Love it. Was 3 months without one when the kitchen was redone. It was the longest three months of my life Grin

harriethoyle · 13/04/2021 20:11

Oh! It's AEG btw. Excellent cleaning even on the 30 minute setting...

FlouncingBabooshka · 13/04/2021 20:18

Echoing all the PP have recommended Bosch - had one in my last house and it was great. So quiet I had to check I’d remembered to switch it on.

Don’t love the one I inherited in this house (not even sure what it is) and I’m not considering anything other than a Bosch when we replace it.

NewYearNewTwatName · 13/04/2021 20:29

not sure I should even post in case it now decides to stop working...

Its ancient, 20+ years maybe. it's big, fits loads in will clean off anything eg dried on weetabix ect. glasses are sparkling.

it's a NEFF

Lavendersquare · 13/04/2021 20:30

I like mine, but recently stayed in a holiday let with a Bosch dishwasher that really impressed me.

4amWitchingHour · 13/04/2021 20:39

My DH adores our Bosch dishwasher. We've had it 6 months and he still gives it a loving pat every so often. Serie 8, although to me the 7 looked just as good (and was a lot cheaper...)

Muststopeating · 13/04/2021 21:02

Always had Bosch. Swear by Bosch. Love them! Nothing irritates me more than a dishwasher fail so I am hard to please. Just had to replace one in the flat I own (Bosch and 13 years old in a rented flat), planned to buy cheapest Bosch but the cheaper 3 or 4 Bosch models were sold out everywhere.

There had been a thread on here about Beko applicances about a week ago where most people raved about them. Reviews were great so went for it. Not delivered yet and I won't be using it so can't speak to its effectiveness but might be worth exploring.

My friend just bought the AEG with the bottom tray that lifts up so you don't have to bend to empty it and she loves it.

Had 3 months without a dishwasher and it was a terrible terrible time in my life. Freaking hate washing up!

Beebumble2 · 13/04/2021 21:12

Another Bosch fan here.

Whatpaint · 13/04/2021 21:18

We have a 5/6 year old Neff dishwasher and it is crap, regularly breaks down and I wouldn’t buy another one. I know they vary so much by model though according to the which reviews but I am disappointed in it.

We have several other Bosch appliances and they have been fine although Neff and Bosch are the same company now.

SciFiScream · 13/04/2021 21:23

Yes. I LOVE my dishwasher. It's a Bosch. Going great so far. Replaced a Bosch that came with the house when we moved in. Was 24 years old when we replaced it.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 13/04/2021 21:23

No, but DH does. He has a pet name for it. He doesn't have one for me...🤨
