Ideas for this pink bathroom suite

Please be kind Wink

I'm moving into a new place which requires renovating. But there are rooms that are first in line. Apart from ripping up the carpet, I'd like ideas how to brighten this bathroom up temporarily. Tia

I am loving the love for your pink suite, we also had those tiles, BUT we called them ‘penguin on a rock’ tiles!

Love the palm-fronds shower curtain someone posted.

Northernsoullover · 02/05/2020 19:50

My nan had that bathroom suite. I loved it.

DC3dilemma · 02/05/2020 20:04

I have a black, white and pink themed bathroom...kind of Victorian style. I absolutely love it. White and black checked tiles on the floor (actually vinyl tiles rather than porcelain) white units and pink walls. Some mirrored decorative things -clock etc. Black bathmats.

Would something like that work?

Absolutely, they are penguins (always upside down) what is this about chickens?

My parents are green (yes they remain with the avacodo bath and sink) I would go and check but they live 175miles away, and, you know, lockdown.

But they are penguins.

Embrace it OP.

DC3dilemma · 02/05/2020 20:09

Ok, all of these have the ubiquitous white suite, but you get the idea, you could still work to a similar them?

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 02/05/2020 20:09

I love it. I would prefer that to a modern one any day!

DENMAN03 · 02/05/2020 20:10

Loving the wallpaper! I think it looks fab and you just need to embrace it.
Pinterest will have loads of ideas .. you can make it look brilliant and it won't cost a lot at all..

Pieceofpurplesky · 02/05/2020 21:12

I love it - vamp it up until you can have a new one! Frills, flowers, mood lighting!!

YippieKayakOtherBuckets · 02/05/2020 21:16

I love it too! I like the idea upthread of cork tiles on the floor. I would paint the walls white and have lots of lush green plants.

Bollss · 02/05/2020 21:20

I love it. I'd go tropical. Paint the walls white get some wood effect lino down a d get some green leafy plants in there. I might personally even wallpaper somewhere with palm leaf print tbh! I'm jealous. Our doer upper bathroom is nowhere near as fabulous as that!

SwedishEdith · 02/05/2020 21:26

I'd do black and white checkerboard flooring.

daisyjgrey · 02/05/2020 21:30

Oh god I love it. I would LOVE to put a pink suite in, nobody else in the house is on board though.

StormCiara · 02/05/2020 21:56

I’d go all out powderbox. Something like F+B calamine. Very 60s Chanel.

Secondsop · 03/05/2020 00:17

I love it! Gold taps, black/white geometric patterned tile floor (eg the one that looks like stars that’s everywhere, and there are also nice Lino versions of it), add plants, a botanical wallpaper, this could be absolutely gorgeous.

MovinOnUp · 03/05/2020 00:37

I would go pink and green wallpaper and gold taps, Retro glam.

MrsMoastyToasty · 03/05/2020 00:45

My parents had those tiles in yellow and white to match their primrose yellow bathroom suite.

Movinghouseatlast · 03/05/2020 09:42

I have just done this with a vile bathroom in my holiday cottage I rent out. This is what I did

Painted the floor- but lino is cheap and you could do that instead. I put lino in our bathroom at home and I love it.

Put on a new bath panel and toilet seat. Grey would look nice on pink. They have a nice grey set at Victoria Plumb.

Bought a really good quality blind but from ebay.

Put in a good quality bathroom cabinet.

New light fitting.

Tiled the wall above the existing tiles with plain metro tiles so I could have a shower in the bath. Bought a plain shower curtain.

Most things, including the tiling, will be reused when we finally have enough money to replace the suite.

Dressed it with some ritzy plants in pots which are not really my taste.

It looks SO much better. I think it is quite nice now.

I'd repaint I'm dark gray and add a blind and towels to match. Or even dark blue, be bold!

DaphneduM · 03/05/2020 10:41

Have a look at Missoni towels (I got mine from T K Maxx) - they're very multi-coloured including pink. You could pick out one of the other colours as an accent. My bathroom and downstairs loo are boring - beige bathroom tiles throughout, downstairs loo walls mauvey-pink, but also limited by that pink silver and mauve mosaic splash back type thing. The various different (I mix them up) Missoni towels have 'lifted' both to looking, dare I say it, pretty classy!!!!

PurpleCrowbarWhereIsLangCleg · 03/05/2020 10:55

Chickens? Penguins? Those tiles are poos. My brother spotted this when he was 8ish & none of us could ever see anything but turds in the pattern ever again...

I'd definitely go kitsch flamingo style in there. It's really cute!

Peonyonpoint · 03/05/2020 12:46

Also I love, love, love the ceramic soap holder, so useful!

cittigirl · 03/05/2020 13:43

Thankyou all for your positive feedback. I shall definitely try to work with it. I will need good lighting as that isnt an external window. It faces into the main bedroom. I was going to change that wall but it lets light in and wont bother me too much.

cittigirl I know!!!! - ridiculous if you pay full price - but I got mine from T K Maxx over several months. I even managed to get a matching bathrobe from them too!!! My little touch of Italian designer at TK prices!!! I don't share my bathroom with anyone - it's my little sanctuary - I also have lots of lovely Italian soaps in there too - again from TK. I think you'll have great fun with your pink bathroom - it will be lovely.
