Hi
Am looking to move near to Chester and looking for locations. Any local knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
Daily commute will be to Ellesmere Port and looking for detached house up to £640k with at least 3 beds, off street parking and large garden. Don’t need any schools. Any others area suggestions welcome!

Yes - the Wheatsheaf. It's one thing Upton is missing to be honest. It's just a chain pub which is a bit rough. Hoole has lots of nice pubs which isn't far at all.

If you watch the latest series of Location, Location, Location - Chester is on there and they see a house on Upton Lane. It's the new build one by the Wheatsheaf and Village Hall - you'll get a good idea then. That house has since sold.

I'm getting mixed up - it's Heath Rd I'm thinking of, sorry.

Hi
Have watched the Chester LLL and tried to workout where the house was. Wonder if any of the people in the epside ever actually bought a house!

It was on Heath Rd. I always wonder that, too!

Hi
Right visited Mold and Hawarden and although very nice decided the commute is too long.
Really like the look of houses on Tarvin Road in Littleton but the road is so busy! Does anyone know how you manage to get off your driveway during busy times as would still like to view houses there?
Thanks

That is a very busy road - can you hear the A55 from there?

The NHS in this area is under special measures so unless the OP is iron man, superman, or some other immune super hero, I would live over the border in England.

Re the road noise - views a house in Upton Lane and could hear road noise there.
Now looking further east - Northwich, Sandiway, Delamere etc. Any suggestions very welcome!

Definitely avoid Mold, and all the bits of Wales within commuting distance of Chester generally! The hospitals are absolutely awful, real nightmares.

Trying to get my parents treated in Chester hospitals was a massive fight. I’d not trust the Maelor to draw blood. My Dad’s haematologist quietly suggested renting a bedsit in Chester as an address to access the healthcare!

So that alone would swing it for me. Also the commute is a bit far and other than Theatr Clwyd and the Glas Fryn there’s bugger all there. Pretty, good for walkers, awful for kids/teens and those who need he NHS

Thanks for the info.

Gosh - Mold is lovely PP. lots of bars and the market is great.

The district generals are a bit hit and miss but as is the Countess - I used to work there. It's the same across the board.

Manley Moldsworth looks nice in the pictures. Not far from Chester.
My Ds lives in Winsford, wors in Northwich. His inlaws live in Northwich and really like it. Sil lives in Weaverham, just bought a house.
Lots of nice little spots/country homes near the delamere forest. I follwed road detour sgns through there one time, took forever to get back to the road I wanted but was a lovelt drive.

There are many great things about Mold but the best by far is being near the best craft beer brewers in the uk (in my opinion), Polly's Brew Smile

Troels · 13/01/2020 20:37

Jeez sorry I was typing to fast lots of errors there.

priceice · 13/01/2020 21:05

Used to live on Tarvin Road - the beauty of the houses more than makes up for the road! Can get busy at times, but always easy enough to pull out - most of the curbs are really wide so you can pull in / turn around on them. Road is almost empty after 9pm.

As others have said money will go further in N Wales
