Boundary dispute

Bought a bottom flat which is leasehold and it had been empty two years. The upstairs flat (only two flats) are trying to use 3 ft of the concrete yard. They have while it was empty installed an outside tap and a washing line and keep their bins there. I moved in at the beginning of the year and asked them not to use my yard. I want to put a fence up at the edge of my land but they refuse and say it needs to be 3ft in so they can use the tap and the washing line. The plan that is registered with the land registry shows the yard is my flats. There is also shared land around the flat and they are using it for their car and there’s no room for my car and if I leave my bin on the shared land they move them to the yard. I put my car on the shared drive when they were out once and they screamed at me banging the door until I moved it. My lease shows it to be shared land clearly and the yard mine alone. They want to use the first 3 ft of my yard. Can I put a fence up to stop this along the boundary or do I have to let them use my yard? Freeholder not interested and won’t get involved. I just don’t want them in my yard and I want to be secure. Am I wrong?

Bluebird29 · 26/07/2018 00:31

How they park on the drive versus how my car is parked!

They reported my car as abandoned! Had the local council man knock at my door and ask if it was mine as it had been reported. Cheeky fuckers! I’m not usually home during the day but I was that day. He knocked and I told him it was mine and not abandoned and on my shared drive, he said no problem. And then A day later I got a slip saying that I had sold the car! Cheeky fuckers had applied for a v5 in another address so it looked abandoned. Had to reapply with proof. Mad!

Oh they must be furious that they can't get one over you, especially if they've been used to previous neighbours being intimidated and moving. 😂

Stressedoutmamma · 02/08/2018 20:08

Is that even legal with the v5

LlamaPyjamas · 02/08/2018 20:11

I’d contact the police about the fraudulent V5!

little0miss0mac · 02/08/2018 20:29

That sounds fraudulent to me.

Bluebird29 · 02/08/2018 21:04

I have been googling madly to find out if fraudently filling in an application is illegal or not. I spoke to dvla but they won’t say anything about who it’s in the name of now. Data protection they said.

Just told me to send proof of ownership ie picture of car on my drive and service book photo etc.

OP posts:
Bluebird29 · 02/08/2018 21:05

And to reapply so I did.

They also damaged my wing mirror with a box. On cctv! Doh! Waiting for police to ring me about that.

Will mention the v5 fraud too.

Was it deliberate with the box?

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour · 02/08/2018 21:14

They are shockers! You are dealing with them perfectly though, giving them enough rope to hang themselves! Well played OP!

JohnnyKarate · 02/08/2018 21:53

When I first read this a few months ago I really thought they'd end up wearing you down as they seemed relentless. So glad they've met their match in you!

Also really shocked it's that easy to register someones car as your own Shock

Bluebird29 · 02/08/2018 22:00

Apparently all you need is the reg number and the vin number which is on the windscreen!

OP posts:
Bluebird29 · 02/08/2018 22:01

Yes very deliberate and obvious on the cctv. Idiots!

OP posts:
Bluebird29 · 02/08/2018 22:02

I’m not being worn down, it’s making me stronger. I can deal with them easily. And now I can sue for damage to the car.

Just come across this thread, I think you're amazing!!! 🙌🏻

Bluebird29 · 02/08/2018 22:03

They obviously feel got at themselves as they have raised their fences to 8 ft. I laughed as it shows I’m getting to them. Not the other way around.

OP posts:
Bluebird29 · 02/08/2018 22:05

Thanks. I’m not like the many other people they run out. I’m made of stronger stuff!
