We just replaced ours and now have a Woodwarm stove. Not the cheapest option but beautiful to look at as it has a large clear window so you can really see the fire going and an airwash system that keeps the glass clean.

We really love it, easier to light, cleaner and warmer than our ancient old stove. And the cats approve too!

I’ve got a Woodwarm brochure here, they look lovely and they’re British made which is appealing. I liked the look of the parkray aspect 5 because of the large window but our installer has said they’re not great quality.

I haven’t heard of Contura Creme. I’ll check it out, thanks :)

We've got two Charnwood log burners. We had then installed about 10 years ago and they're superb. They look the same size as ihatethecold has and a similar design.

I’ve got my eye on a Chilli Penguin.

Woodwarm Fireview, love it. Huge window, very efficient, and the easiest fire I've ever had to light/adjust.

My husband is a Hetas registered fitter. He says the best he fits are made by Clearview and Stovax.

We have a Parkray which I love - so easy to light, control and clean and a Morso Squirrel which I find really hard to light.
