Please give me hints and tips as to what we can do to at least get some more viewings Smile

One since Christmas is not too good I think and we swapped EA about a month ago.

Thank you Grin

Bit bland maybe? Stick some plants in, flesh flowers, etc?

edamsavestheday · 16/05/2014 19:07

No I

Brittapieandchips · 16/05/2014 19:07

FRESH. Not flesh. Hmm

fukkigucci · 16/05/2014 19:08

First impression is that you have too few photos. You need more of the rooms. Also looks a little cold, some flowers, cushions to brighten up the rooms.

Floralnomad · 16/05/2014 19:09

Are other properties around the area moving because TBH I can't see the problem .i would get some bedding plants in pots in the garden to brighten it up a bit and inside I think you've probably made it too depersonalised IYSWIM. For example the bathroom looks like nobody lives there .

LaurieFairyCake · 16/05/2014 19:09

Does anything sell in your street?

It looks quite new, is it priced right?

Is it quite expensive for Mansfield?

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 16/05/2014 19:09

Agree with Brit. It's too minimal, doesn't look homely enough.

Mintyy · 16/05/2014 19:09

Does anyone actually live there?

I'm afraid it looks bare and soulless.

You now need some updated pictures for pring, hopefully with some shrubs or greenery in the garden.

Get rid of the plastic bags in the kitchen and make sure washing machine is empty.

You need some rugs/soft furnishings/signs of life!

orangepudding · 16/05/2014 19:10

Looks fine to me, maybe a table and chairs in the garden. Is it priced right?

edamsavestheday · 16/05/2014 19:10

Oops meant to say no idea what's wrong, house looks ok and not overpriced according to the similar properties button. Sorry not very helpful. Pics not especially inspiring, maybe that's an issue. What does the agent say?

Pastperfect · 16/05/2014 19:10

Be honest are you over priced? If the price is competitive anything will sell regardless of aesthetic details.

Your place looks fine - lacking in personal touches but shouldn't put anyone off.

KayVerinder · 16/05/2014 19:10

I'll call lady Gaga about some flowers!

We were anxious to make sure it looked nice and tidy hence the sparse look, so I think we overdid it!

The EA took loads of photos so I have no idea why she only put those 6 on.

Firstly, I'm no professional at this!

The picture of the kitchen would look better if the carrier bags weren't stuffed in the gap by the washing machine.

Also, to me the rooms look really blank. The bathroom picture has a bath/basin/toilet. No coloured towels, or jar of fancy bubble bath on the window sill.

I know that to sell a house it is good to de-personalise it, but now it has absolutely no character. Perhaps a fruit bowl, or vase of flowers or a plant somewhere?

Also, there is only a photo of one bedroom. What about the other 2? I'd be wondering why there aren't more pictures.

MuttonCadet · 16/05/2014 19:12

You can't see which house is yours from the first view, no plan of the house. Other than that it looks lovely.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/05/2014 19:12

Id get the front photo redone from the other side, so you cant see the bricked up window. I wondered why such a new build would have had a window and now not have one.

Get a photo if the shower

Not a lot of people read particulars thoroughly and may skim past your house of the opinion that it doesnt have a shower.

AuditAngel · 16/05/2014 19:12

There isn't a floor plan. They are really helpful.

KayVerinder · 16/05/2014 19:13

I don't think we are overpriced, there is a similar one round the corner for 15k more, one literally across the road from us has just sold. We can afford to sell a bit lower as we bought at a good time.

There are brand new builds similar to us selling for a lot more locally, this house is 6 years old.

Toospotty · 16/05/2014 19:13

OK. First, I have no idea about the price but I assume you feel it's right for the market?

Where is your floor plan?! I don't look online at houses without floor plans. There's just no way to tell how big anything is.

The photos don't flow. They dot around the house. I see from the details you've got a kitchen diner - you'd never know it from the photo. Your house is obviously a slightly unusual shape and that seems to have foxed the photographer a bit. You need a photo showing the size of your kitchen; presumably you can fit a table in?

The bathroom and living room are admirably uncluttered but lack personality in my opinion. Again it's hard to tell how big your living room is.

Get new photos taken of the garden in better weather. Do you normally have a bit of garden furniture out there? It looks a bit bleak in your current photo.

More photos needed in general. At least one other bedroom for one thing. I'm always interested in en suites although I know some aren't.

Good luck! I hope you get some interest soon.

KayVerinder · 16/05/2014 19:14

Ha ah, the window.

Believe it or not, that was the actual design of the house...

OP posts:
Greywacke · 16/05/2014 19:14

Get the agent to put a floorplan on there, it may be putting people off that there isn't one.

Good luck

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/05/2014 19:15

Also have a play around with the living room furniture.

If the only sofa option was two facing each other I really couldnt live there.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/05/2014 19:15

Grin barmy!!

nancy75 · 16/05/2014 19:17

Agree with others, you need more pictures - my parents just sold their house - they had over 40 photos (it was a bigger house :) )

From the outside i'm not sure which house it is - I think you need some pot plants & colour. Same inside really, the bathroom looks good but sparse it needs a bit more life/colour

jellyandsoup · 16/05/2014 19:17

You need a floor plan and more pictures. Like someone else said I assumed there wasn't a shower which lots of people would find a problem.

Owllady · 16/05/2014 19:19

You need a floor plan and I am sorry to be blunt but it look like a single bloke lives there, an engineer
