I can't see if there is already a thread like this so here goes..

We finally upped our offer enough for it to be accepted on our dream house. It's been stressful so far and this is just the beginning. We have had so many let downs: vendor changing mind, vendor getting higher offer etc and we hope this sale goes through smoothly. We've been looking for years. Come and join me if you're buying and equally stressed....

So bloody stressful I thought I'd had hideous stress the last few years with 3 miscarriages , eventually 2 babies :-) , getting married but selling and moving house really takes the award for most stressful life event .

Thanks so much I'm very philosophical about it all now I have 2 gorgeous baby girls now as well as my older boy and our new house is the icing on the cake, I intend to have no stressful events at all next year, I'm going to sit in my new garden and drink wine :-).

Bakingnovice · 14/09/2013 23:03

We're house hunting at the moment, and have viewed a few properties over the last two weeks - seeing two brilliant ones on Tuesday and we're actually hoping to offer on one if it looks as good in reality as it is on paper.

It's nerve wrecking!

Well my mortgage offer arrived on Thursday, contract arrived on Friday, signed and returned on Saturday, and now I'm nervously awaiting a completion date. and still massively hoping to be in before 1st Oct when the flat notice is up. Is jf even possible? Everything crossed and lots of wine here!

Hi. Can I join the stress-a-thon?
We are only just starting on the journey. We sold our house within 48hrs this weekSmile had the offer we had wanted accepted on the house we love. Now it's seems as if everything has to be done yesterday to get the ball rolling.
So where do we start? Instructing solicitors tomorrow. Dh is sorting out mortgage on tues. ( that won't be a problem as we don't need much)
What will happen next?
And I know this is a stupid question but how long do you think this will take? We are moving to an empty house. So there are four houses in the chain and five parties involved. Do you reckon we will be in for Xmas?

icklekid · 16/09/2013 05:51

AndWhenYouGetThere- you are in exactly the same situation we are now in and are also hoping to move before Oct. I'm ringing solicitors and ea to push for a date this morning!

123rd · 16/09/2013 10:16

Ok stress has begun...had a phone call from our EA just now to say our buyers have lost their buyerHmm so what do we do now? Put ours back on the market? Or speak to the other couple who offered on ours but have problems with their sale? Argh!!!

123 can you go back on market but tell buyer if they sell again you will be open to accepting again? I'd speak to sol and estate agent but I would definitely remarket in case this couple can't find another buyer, also get estate agent to speak to all interested parties, if you got offer in 48 hours you will get snapped up again.

Thanks Lunatic , hope you got your happy ending too :-) here's to new houses to house them x

123rd · 16/09/2013 14:44

The EA is trying to ascertain what the true situation is with the 2nd couple who offered -a higher bid but we decided not to go with them as their chain seemed less secure! How typicalHmm if there is no joy there we will defo go back on market straight away. Just don't want to lose the house we have offered on....god does anyone have an absolutely stress free move? I knew the start of this would be to good to lastSmile

50shadesofmeh · 16/09/2013 15:09

Good luck 123rd sounds like your house is well sought after which makes a difference , our vendor that gave us keys said take as much as we want up to house so we have as we couldn't move in here and I had a complete meltdown.
Stuff piled up around our ears and I can't see how we are getting out of here tomorrow. Been cleaning bathroom in between feeding my 5 month old and its my daughters 3rd birthday today.
Wish me luck everything goes through tomorrow ok and we don't need to go collect lots of stuff from the new house eek

Good luck 50shades

It is two steps forward, one step back, really, really slowly here. Vendors have gone from moving into rented to buying somewhere, the chain is about 5 people long, but complete. However, it will be a lot slower than we thought. We are trying to push as hard as we can. Will have to see what happens. Still love the house, but there are some other nice things on the market

123rd · 16/09/2013 21:01

Oh 50 shades that sounds really unfunny. Fingers and toes crossed for you.
The EA phoned earlier and no more certain of the second party that offered. But has a new chap wanting to view tomorrow morning. So it carries on.....

Good luck 50shades and BogStandard!

Well, we now have an asking price offer on our house (yay!), but can't find anything we want to buy (boo!). I'm glued to Rightmove hoping something good comes up soon.
