My eyes are bleeding. I thought I'd browse trendy Notting Hill pads for inspiration and found this beauty. I'm all for a bit of quirky but this, really who would buy this monstrosity? And if you look at picture 23 it also appears to have a life size Batman in the house

Someone actually got paid to design this??!!!

Oh my eyes! Is it a bit like living in a Barbie house do we think? All plastic and shiny!

And what's with the massive empty rooms with one bit of furniture in them. And the holiday inn style blue carpet?

Truly vile!

Limelight · 29/04/2013 04:43

Shit! I've just shown this to my DH who thinks that apart from the yellow floor which is bit 'over the top', it's really fun and cool.

My eyes have been opened! What have I married?Blush

Meringue33 · 29/04/2013 05:15

"Floor art", lol.

JakeBullet · 29/04/2013 06:44

Just Grin, it is obviously possible to be rich and have no taste at all then?

Trazzletoes · 29/04/2013 06:53

Picture 23 is immensely creepy.

But I would LOVE a slide in my house! I used to live in France and there was a bar we went to that had a slide from the bar down on to the dance floor. It was AWESOME!

NotInventedHere · 29/04/2013 13:14

My Sindy doll had that table and chairs!

slhilly · 29/04/2013 13:28

I would encourage you to enjoy the full glory at Foxton's website, where there are closeups of the Batman and everything.

PacificDogwood · 29/04/2013 13:34

The roof terrace is lovely.

tribpot · 29/04/2013 13:36

My eyes have been permanently scarred by viewing the Foxton's website. Those floors! The rooms with nothing in except a bed in one corner! It's like the nightmare sequence in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

PanpiperAtTheGatesOfYawn · 29/04/2013 13:39

I actually like the staircase. So nurnee nah nah.

But... the floors. THE FLOORS!!!!

It looks like the sort of house someone senior at google or a really trendy start-up would buy, and then never actually be in because they were in the office 20 hours a day, coding and playing fooseball with the other coders.

BuiltForComfort · 29/04/2013 16:32

What I really like from thr foxtons website is the description of the room with the red chair as "reception room/bedroom". Because that would be a relaxing place to sleep.

RooneyMara · 29/04/2013 16:38

That's not a life size model of Batman. That IS Batman. In Batman's HOUSE. [faints]

PacificDogwood · 29/04/2013 17:58

OMG, Rooney, you are right Shock!!
What has he done with Robin??

PacificDogwood · 29/04/2013 17:59

And yes, the staircase is nice and cheery.
Although seems to suggest that a LOT of stairs need to be climbed every day. Unless you are Batman, of course.

Limelight · 29/04/2013 18:18

You know, until I looked at the Foxtons site, I don't think I truly appreciated the plastic hideousness of the soft play / massive sofa thing in the slide room.

HopingItllBeOK · 29/04/2013 18:32

I know where Robin is. Batman has trapped him in the basement. You can see the access hatch on the Foxtons photos, just in front of the red table and chair thing in the room with the blue floor.

RooneyMara · 29/04/2013 18:33

I just realised it's for kids to throw themselves around on - next to huge glass sash windows. With a sizeable drop beneath yes? Hmm

lalalonglegs · 29/04/2013 18:37

I quite like lots of it. I think part of the problem with the photos is that it is very underfurnished and there's nothing on the walls which makes the flooring louder than it needs to be. I love the staircase and the slide. It was designed by Richard Rogers` son who has done some amazing projects.

That's what 4000 sq ft costs in the middle of Nottingham Hill, the decor is besides the point.

Moominsarehippos · 29/04/2013 18:40

I am so looking for that and urging my lunchtime to tomorrow!

Ridersofthestorm · 29/04/2013 18:46

Feckin horrible!

finickypinickity · 29/04/2013 18:51

Whoever invented the phrase 'more money than sense' had obviously visited this house beforeShock

TheRealFellatio · 29/04/2013 19:53

Yes, quite!

ginmakesitallok · 29/04/2013 19:59

I love the slide! I want one!

Heavywheezing · 29/04/2013 20:07

My 5 year old loves it, although he would like a caravan

PacificDogwood · 29/04/2013 20:46

5.000.000 smackeroonies would be one hell of a caravan Grin

Can we start a MN Campaign to Free Robin?
