Thought I'd better start a new thread... :)

Pendulum - I know what you mean. I know moving is the right thing & I love the new house but I love our current house & neighbours and if I could pick them up and transfer them closer to DHs job I'd do it in a heartbeat. Fear of the unknown I guess.

Insurance schedules do that to everyone. At least you got one, our IFA went off to get life & critical care for DH & I to cover the mortgage. DH got his, mine I can get premium loaded life but not critical care as I'm too risky. They wouldn't even charge me higher premiums it's just an outright no! Sad Apparently it's not my arthritis thats the risk it's the drugs I take for it. I know they are nasty stuff and I suspected they'd affect any premiums but it's harsh seeing it on paper. Still wouldn't swap them for the world they are bloody miracle workersGrin

Pendulum · 15/05/2013 14:02

Thanks wonkylegs. It's a really strange feeling, one half of me is desperately excited about the move and the other half is clinging to the security of the familiar. It's more than just a new house for me, it's new town, new job and new schools for the DC, all at the same time.

TerrysNo2 · 15/05/2013 14:14

Pendulum I too can't sleep very well atm but I my lack of sleep is because I just want to know what is happening with our buyer and our mortgage. I'm sure, once those things are resolved (either way) I will find something else to lose sleep over!! Grin

Turnipinatutu · 15/05/2013 14:20

I do know exactly what you mean.
That's probably why we've stayed so long (18yrs) and are now bursting at the seams! We bought this house as a wreck and have slowly worked on it over the years as finances allowed and made it our home. All our children were born here, there's such a lot of memories.
I never imagined we would leave, it's been a happy home.

We're just desparate for space!

CuddyMum · 15/05/2013 15:23

It appears we may be exchanging on our purchase tomorrow and completion next Thursday!

Cuddy - yay, fingers firmly crossed that it's plain sailing from here on in

Turnipinatutu · 15/05/2013 15:44

Cuddy- whoo hoo! The end is sight!

CuddyMum · 15/05/2013 16:00

Thank goodness! I'm stressed out to the max! Thankfully we are on holiday 2 days after we move for the half term week. Yay!

Oh yey cuddy, getting there now!

hinkyhonk · 15/05/2013 18:05

Totally agree as well. I love our house but we need more outside space and now we've found somewhere else I just want to get the deal done and get on with the fun stuff.

Our buyer now wants to see the survey from when we bought and he seems to want a cast iron guarantee that it will never need repairs. Starting to wonder whether he is really going to go through with it. Any news terrys ?

Great news, CM! You deserve it after all your fantastic support of so many of us on this thread! Smile

no news, but no news is good news right?? Confused Smile

Tau · 15/05/2013 18:43

Congrats, Cuddy!

Our 'open house' or 'open day' (forgot what it's called)is something the EA organizes with many houses, so they won't be here. It just means that on Saturday and Sunday between 10 and 4 anyone can drop by at any moment to have a look. We could've had more restricted hours for this, but my partner was keen to do the whole thing. I should've just said no of course, but I didn't think it through fast enough and now we've already sorted it with the EA.
I hate the idea of just sitting about and not being able to do anything useful or interesting because people could pop in any minute. What the hell am I going to do all that time??? And you'll see that we polish everything nicely and sit and wait all weekend and then nobody turns up. Ugh.

I've had a bad few weeks, and still lots of fuss and trouble going on - nothing to do with the house sale, but that isn't making it any easier. I'm fed up and tired and stressed out and I just want a quiet homely weekend.

As for the cat: I think she knew that I posted here that she would probably poop in the garden when viewers would come, because this morning she did a massive one on my bed! Shock She never did that before! So all the bedding had to be washed, including the duvet. I wasn't at all pleased this morning, but I now start to see the funny side of it, and I can smile about it. Not yet laugh... just smile. Wink

CuddyMum · 15/05/2013 19:03

Oh Tau - if you don't laugh you'll cry. I hope that someone comes through your door this weekend! Be careful not to leave anything valuable about as I guess you won't have prior knowledge of who is coming. Nice one cat!

OP posts:
Turnipinatutu · 15/05/2013 19:10

Will the cat now be included with the fixtures and fittings Grin

Tau · 15/05/2013 19:58

Cuddymum- I hadn't even thought about not leaving valuable stuff lying around. Now our most valuable things are some fairly massive pieces of antique furniture (guess that won't be an issue), and computer related stuff. The computer stuff shall have to be hidden, then. Or I can just leave it with my son. He is usually merged with his laptop anyway in the weekends.

Turnip... I have uttered many threats to the cat today, but all she did was purr. I'll go test yours on her now!

monkeytennismum · 15/05/2013 22:35

Cuddy - that's fantastic news, congratulations!! It must seem like a marathon to you.

Tau - ha ha ha! That really made me laugh out loud. Cats are buggers aren't they?

TerrysNo2 · 15/05/2013 22:56

Cuddy really pleased for you, its nice to see someone on here getting all the way!

Tau DH wants to leave our cat behind for the next people!! She's never pooed on the bed but she has scratched DS once and that cannot be tolerated!

Hinky are you going to show him the survey, I am not sure any good can come from that, have you already told him you still have it? If not I would say I'd lost it!

Well, Wednesday is nearly over, I am pleased we hadn't had any bad news but I can't believe we are still waiting, and I haven't harassed called our buyer, how strong am I!!! Grin

Tomorrow, pretty please world

TerrysNo2 · 15/05/2013 22:58

I haven't looked at ANY pictures of the house we would buy either but I am going to now, just to torture myself!

CuddyMum · 16/05/2013 07:27

Terry I really hope your buyer gets back to you today.
