What does £350k buy in your area?

That is our current budget. Love the area we are in and we tied down to it for now but sometimes I feel frustrated with the size of our house. Its small.

So just been nosy (and sort of daydreaming where we could move to when we are older and freer) what would £350k get you were you live?

Advantages of being up north!

forevergreek · 03/01/2013 18:21

A small 1 bed flat

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/01/2013 18:22

this very very small one bedroom apartment

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/01/2013 18:22

Are we neighbours, Forevergreek? Grin

castlesintheair · 03/01/2013 18:27

A tiny 1 bed flat/studio. Possibly.

closerthanclose · 03/01/2013 18:28

One bed flat here, 440 sq ft and above a shop but 5 mins to a zone 1 station in London. Could also get a 2 bed if willing to go ex-council. No garden, no good schools, but great for getting into central London, nightlife, fringe/arty events and quirky shopping!

GinghamChic · 03/01/2013 18:29

4 beds but small garden.
North east. Good area. Wink

amck5700 · 03/01/2013 18:29

This 5 bed new build:

BeaWheesht · 03/01/2013 18:32

A 4 bed detached house if going for a non new build - if you want a new build probbly a 5/6 bed detached.

TuttoRhino · 03/01/2013 18:38

Generally a two bed or a small three bed. If the road is particularly nice then only a one bed. We're moving slightly further out in order to buy a 4 bed house.

the listing for this is hilarious.

I love that Georgian townhouse.

forevergreek · 03/01/2013 18:40

Mrs- I'm not sure, but we are London, zone 1. We live in a cardboard box equivalent

BackforGood · 03/01/2013 18:44

Here you go.

It really is in a "much sought after area" - that's not just EA speak Grin

lalalonglegs · 03/01/2013 18:44

One bedroom flat, possibly some garden or outside space Hmm.

lynniep · 03/01/2013 18:46

4 bed detached with conservatory and garage, possibly double garage. Decent sized garden. Simple enough commute to London but not much fun.

BackforGood · 03/01/2013 18:47

Or www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-37787450.htmlHere. elegantly done, but on a busy road, although convenient for everywhere

Or www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-38079251.html?premiumA=true here - bit more 'lived in' inside, but a quieter road, and masses of space.

Angelfootprints · 03/01/2013 19:11

Interesting to see the huge amount of differences in floorspace. Having seen these maybe ours isn't so small after all, more average really for the price.

Still, it feels too small!

RalphGnu · 03/01/2013 19:57

We're practically neighbours it seems, EddieIzzard! Is that guesthouse the one on Caton Rd?

EddieIzzardIsOrange · 03/01/2013 20:09

Yea, I think it is, on the way out of town past the TA grounds?

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 03/01/2013 20:10

This lovely 4 bed

6 bed

AKissIsNotAContract · 03/01/2013 20:15

this is nearest to me for that price. Our house was 190k less than that though.
