What does £350k buy in your area?

That is our current budget. Love the area we are in and we tied down to it for now but sometimes I feel frustrated with the size of our house. Its small.

So just been nosy (and sort of daydreaming where we could move to when we are older and freer) what would £350k get you were you live?

I don't live here yet, but will later this year. It's just darling.

the Old Hall, or maybe Nursery Cottage.

BigSpork · 03/01/2013 17:55

Here, it would get you loads of space and greenery and completely residential.

Like this 4 beds, two with ensuites, massive big thing

Another but with 5 beds

We're in a suburb of Manchester and you get a three bed for £350k here. You'd be looking at half a million for a nice four bed sadly. But I will console myself with the fact my London friend has just bought a one bedroom attic flat for exactly £350k in London. Grin

idococktailshedoesbeer · 03/01/2013 17:56

Dont know why I put London twice there... work has addled my brain.

Inclusionist · 03/01/2013 17:56

This in my area.

Not very inspiring is it? Some of the things on here make me want to weep. The train station will be a Crossrail stop though so it would be a good time to buy it.

In the city probably a done up 3 bed semi or terrace or a bigger doer upper, in the community belt a nice detached 4/5 bed house in immaculate condition (NE Scotland)

Angelfootprints · 03/01/2013 18:01

Thanks for all the links so far! Im swinging between thinking "my goodness you fit our entire house into that on 1 and half times" to "thats tiny, our house is a palace compared to that! "

2 bed flat here in ascot - which is why we have to rent! I do often look wistfully at properties near my friend up north that seem to have 5 beds and room to swing a cat for less.

DottyandSpottyWot · 03/01/2013 18:12

Will get you this in my area

Hulababy · 03/01/2013 18:14

On our estate there is the middle gap too.
3 bed townhouses for £250-300 depending on location/size
Then the next jump is to the smaller 4 bed detached houses which would be about £450.

This is what you get near us. We're North Lincs but it's a Doncaster postcode which is a bit misleading.

ChristmasIsAcumenin · 03/01/2013 18:20

Hahah, isn't it marvellous? If only!

No, we'll be over the road a bit. Or we will be, when there's a roof and floors and all those other tiresome requirements.
