Like the new photos !

much better

Still would have lost those teddies though

FriskyBivalves · 20/01/2012 20:36

Yy I remember the great dinosaurs, the fab shower and the bathroom with all those diddly fiddly mosaics that must have been a bugger to tile. And space for four cars and all that Envy. Can't remember why you're moving though. Is it a space thing or an area thing or a schools thing??

mumatron · 20/01/2012 20:37

why on earth are you moving? your house is beautiful!

loopydoo · 20/01/2012 20:37

Love your own house - beautiful and I think the dino wallpaper is fab!

So you must be near the secret nuclear bunker if you're in Kelvedon?
We love it there.

Can you say your reason for moving?

moaninlisa · 20/01/2012 20:38

Don't like the metal framed sliding patio doors
Like the outside

saturdayescape · 20/01/2012 20:41

This looks nice.

Is this your neighbour?

But this is lovely - modern but not boxy.

You must have been round them all. What's wrong with them? Hmm

CaroleMiddleton · 20/01/2012 22:53

Hi there, I happen to know someone who was interested in the first one but there is going to be a housing development built on the land next to it.

QuiStorn · 20/01/2012 23:02

I dont like either Madam.

The first has a very industrial looking exterior, well it is a barn, eh? I dont like the small windows. And what is with the central part with massive window, and a sort of half patio with nothing?

The master bedroom, from my perspective, is the biggest bedroom with the bed in the middle and the bathroom behind ?? Nice enough. But many very small bedrooms. Lots of living space though. But not very nice.

The second, well, better layout, but the KITCHEN, oh, my. Hate the floor tiles and the "pillars" on the units.

Quint.

MrsSeanBean · 21/01/2012 10:31

Don't like the wired panelling in the sitting room, but lovely views and looks like a nice kitchen / dining area.
btw...Sorry if the discussion has wandered on - haven't read whole thread.

MrsSeanBean · 21/01/2012 10:36

sorry weird not wired(!) and 'twas hallway not sitting room. But I see now that you've already decided against!

loopydoo · 21/01/2012 11:08

Love that Messing House auntie - beautifully finished and lots of space.

libelulle · 21/01/2012 11:13

Your current house is utterly gorgeous and neither of the other two come close to it IMO. Sorry:)

MollieO · 21/01/2012 11:15

Typical barn conversion - lovely space downstairs but a small and pokey upstairs. Prefer the second one. Can't believe how much house you get for your money. Where we are that would buy you a semi!

MollieO · 21/01/2012 11:16

Forgot to add the worry for the second one would be how busy the road is, but I suppose you are used to road noise in your current house.

FollowTheVan · 21/01/2012 11:18

I'm personally not a fan of barn conversions or rural settings. But thats just personal taste. Objectively, its a spacious, lovely family home.

Rindercella · 21/01/2012 11:46

Don't like the first one - really odd downstairs layout. Quite like the 2nd house - it sits in a really nice plot. But I really don't like the windows and think you would need to do a lot of work to get it even closely comparable to your current, very beautiful, house.

oldenoughtowearpurple · 21/01/2012 12:00

I don't like the layout of the second one - especially the way the 'utility' room faces on to the garden, complete waste of one of the best spots. And the garden faces north, a deal breaker for me.

I think the first is better.

But mostly I think you get a LOT of house for your money in Essex.

Heswall · 21/01/2012 12:05

I like it alot. It's an eye opener and shows how massively over priced the North West is with less jobs, crap weather and more space apparently.

Rindercella · 21/01/2012 12:10

Oh yes, north facing garden an absolute deal breaker. Also looking at the street view, that road has a real hotch potch of houses. And it is very close to the road too.

FannyPriceless · 21/01/2012 12:15

The second one is nicer but I really think you can do better than either of those.

FoofFighter · 21/01/2012 12:19

The second home is totally gorgeous and I want it Envy it seems more your kind of thing now have seen your current home. Can't see you in the first one.

Zoelda · 26/01/2012 15:44

CAsta - i have no idea how mumsnet works so cant find a way to msg you! i'm the one who said i had considered buying your current house but disclounted it for XYZ reasons, if you remember?

anyway, things have changed and i would now love to come and have a look. it might be better for us to arrange it rather than for me to come along on saturday tho, as we can cut out the agent if anything were to progress.

btw - that stisted barn? really bad idea. if we meet i can tell you why!

anyway, can you msg me or something? i'll check back on this thread (if i can find it again)...

Underthemountain · 26/01/2012 16:46
