I placed my order with them a week ago using the code(thank you to stealthsquiggle for posting it!)and got my order yesterday.I only got a few toys for my dd2 birthday and I am very happy with them,everything I ordered is there.

letsdoittogether - definitely 'phone tomorrow and see what they say. Reading between the lines I think something might have happened to their IT but as of Friday they appeared to be back in control of the situation - and it sounds as though parcels are now going out again (she admitted that nothing had gone out at all last week!).

That said, I am waiting until my order (first one - so placed just before I started the thread - second one arrived fine) actually turns up before I decide whether to stock up a bit more - I will take my chances on the stock levels rather than risk any more money right now.

yay! parcel arrived, with everything they sid on Friday would be in it (only missing one item form original order)

all lovely stuff (as I knew it would be).

it really does look like they had the complete systems crash they described last week.

Sincere apologies to all who have had problems with their orders. The Holz Spring Clean sale has been incredibly successful so far. However, due to a few technical glitches with our system some orders have been delayed and customers have had trouble contacting us, which we understand must be frustrating. We are happy to say we have now caught up with all orders as of Monday 15th March.

We are working at top speed to remove out of stock items from the site to avoid any
disappointment when ordering. If an item that has just gone out of stock is ordered we will contact you to offer an alternative or process your refund as soon as possible.

My parcel arrived today, but only two items that I ordered the rest were out of stock. Holz, can you look at changing your website for the future, so it updates out of stock items in real time?? I would have ordered other things instead if I'd known.

Nice to hear from you Holztoys - it would have been even better to hear from you when we were mid-panic .

My parcel has arrived, but since I may not have entirely admitted to DH how much stuff I ordered I have yet to unpack it.

I am off to browse to see what is left and to try and fail to resist the temptation!

OK - so, based on what people have already received, what should I not be looking at ?

@TheBuggerofSuburbia Sorry to hear some of your items were out of stock. We really appreciate how much of a pain this must be and it is definitely a factor of our site we are looking to improve in the near future.

@stealthsquiggle I'm sure your DH won't mind when they see how nice the toys are .

With regards, to the forum panic last week - the person in charge of Holz social media (me)was away on a course for the second part of last week so it was a bit of bad timing.

The site was updated yesterday so everything on there should be in stock. However, as mentioned previously, if an item that has just gone out of stock is ordered we will contact you to offer an alternative or process your refund as soon as possible.

Oh, DH isn't going to see them, Holztoys - they have now disappeared into my magic cupboard and presents for various children's birthdays will appear without any effort from DH, as usual. Follow-up order now placed!

Now - would DD's 4yo friend like a cuddly triceratops or a baseball glove for his birthday, do you think? My DS would have chosen (would still choose) the triceratops, but I am never sure whether other little boys feel quite the same about cuddly animals.

my dss would have gone for the triceratops, if that's any help (in fact, he still chose a cuddly as part of his 10th birthday present - although I'm not sure he shared that fact with his friends )

I had good success ordering games and pzzles, if that helps you at all, stealth

Thanks, silverfrog - not just my DS then - I have just ordered triceratops #2 as I am not sure I can bear to give the one and only one away - he is gorgeous, and probably destined for me my DS (who is 7)

he is a gorgeous triceratops - I had to resist ordering for me the dds as they really do have far too many cuddlies already (inc 3 triceratops!)

He is even nicer in person [tempting]

I am sticking to our current house policy, which is that dd2 is allowed small toys. she has the biggest collection of small cuddlies ever, and they are her faves by far as she is allowed to take them out and about with her (one at a time!) as she can carry them (dd2 is only 3) or they fit in a pocket...

so now all the dinos (and the range is extensive - she has loads of the wild republic ones, which are also gorgeous) are being re-stocked in miniature

Glad you made your choice, I agree with silverfrog - I would have said the triceratops as well (easy to say that now )

Holztoys - we ordered on Monday, do you think we'll get our order (only one item) by Thursday? It's for DS2's birthday and a bit worried it won't get to me on time.....?

Thanks. Next day delivery (school time) was £15 so I decided to take a chance assuming it wouldn't take more than 2 or 3 days anyway so hopefully it'll be here in time! (will probably arrive while I'm out no doubt) will leave note on door to leave with neighbour

• I am really disappointed now. After all the "honest, we've updated our website" my final order turned up - with no triceratops. I am going to sulk for ever for a while. Now I have to come up with another plan for the party DD is going to on Saturday because there is no way the one and only triceratops is going to a small boy whom I hardly know and who may or may not appreciate him.
