Holz Toys - 50% off everything

stealthsquiggle · 26/02/2010 18:54

http://www.holz-toys.co.uk/ Holz Toys sell beautiful toys at (IMHO) ludicrously high prices. However, while stocks last - code HTRLW gives you 50% off everything - and now that I have placed my huge modest order I am happy to share that gem.

Enjoy!

Oh shit, Silverfrog - me too. Second order arrived fine, I breathed sigh of relief, but no sign of first order. I did have another email about the offer though, so they are still there...I think/hope

OP posts:
silverfrog · 10/03/2010 21:34

I had a second email too - and thought the same thing.

tomorrow is contact Holz toys day in the silverfrog household... the order confirmation does say orders may take up to 2 weeks to be delivered

stealthsquiggle · 11/03/2010 09:19

And another one this morning - I sent a sarcastic reply!

Are you a twitter person - they have started a twitter account - and are following MNTowers .

Holz Toys - if you are reading this - WHERE IS OUR STUFF?! (or at least an update on where it might be)

Do you think they've gone in to receivership and that's why they were sending out 50% off emails - to get rid of everything? A similar thing happened with Letterbox didn't it?
There's something not right as you don't have 'technical difficulties' on your phoneline for a whole week without fixing them!! The fact that orders are adhoc and there's no response from Customer Service also suggests that something is wrong.
Mummyeme - I wondered what the next step was legally as well. I have looked at the Distance Selling Regs but it is a minefield!!! Does anybody know??!

stealthsquiggle · 11/03/2010 10:47

Mindy I think that is more than likely to be the case - but even if it is a fire sale, that is no excuse for taking orders and not shipping them - if they are actually in receivership they shouldn't still (as in, this morning) be sending emails.

I think the next step is probably going to be via credit card companies, if they don't buck their ideas up soon.

OP posts:
humphrey · 11/03/2010 10:59

I have had the same problems. I have sent 5 emails in the past week to different email addresses and called and left messages and just sent a very curt email in reply to this mornings little email advert alerting them to the fact that their name is mud on Mumsnet.
I have called the credit card company to raise a dispute and suggest you all do the same as it is not looking good.

LentilsRMe · 11/03/2010 13:17

I have run a company report this morning and last set of accounts (to Dec 08 whcih don't look too bad, though filed late) - nothing very exciting but it has the directors names and addresses on - though no phone numbers unfortunately - thought there might be an alternative to 0845.

Not very illuminating but you can have a copy if you want - email me at [email protected]

LentilsRMe · 11/03/2010 13:18

Ah ok, the underscores of course will not work!!

lentil underscore on underscore the underscore web @hotmail.co.uk

stealthsquiggle · 11/03/2010 13:24

I too was hunting to see if I could find an alternative number - no joy.

Are you getting anywhere Silverfrog?

Anyone live near Penzance and fancy dropping by ?

OP posts:
LentilsRMe · 11/03/2010 13:26

The trading address given by the report is in Lostwithiel, as are the directors addresses

silverfrog · 11/03/2010 13:37

sadly not getting anywhere.

I've left a series of increasingly sarcastic messages, though.

have emailed, used the contact form on the website, phoned, but nothing's coming back (as expected, given what I've read here)

I've not come across anything mentioning difficulties, though, and the twitter account mentions tuff coming up over the next few months, so all a bit mysterious really.

most of my missig order still seems to be in stock, so maybe they are just snowed under

doesn't explain why they are'nt getting back to people though.

nigglewiggle · 11/03/2010 14:52

I only placed my order a few days ago so I wasn't concerned, until I read this. I will monitor this thread for a couple more days, then if it's still looking dodgy I'll contact the credit card company.

Thanks to those making enquiries.

blimey what a public relations nightmare. I thought it was too good to be true. Thank goodness I used my credit card.

LaTrucha · 11/03/2010 15:06

Oh no! Ordered ages ago and nothing. I've just seen this. Off to investigate....

misha18 · 11/03/2010 22:41

I too placed a reasonably sized order for several low cost items a fortnight ago, and although Holz took money from my credit card on the 3rd I have still recieved no delivery or correspondence despite sending/leaving numerous e-mails, telephone messages and faxes.

I discovered this thread in desperation to find if anyone else was experiencing the same problem, however prior to a couple of days ago I wasn't overly concerned, because there was a problem last year when I placed a smaller first order with Holz. Then a couple of weeks elapsed and no goods had arrived - on that occasion the company who where answering the phone!!, were very apologetic but said there has been a delay in despatch due to a stock take of their systems and after replacing my choice of one item they no longer had available with another, it arrived a few days later.

However it seem this time around me and lots of other mumsnetters have reason to be more concerned and annoyed and I'll be contacting my credit card company tomorrow.

Good luck - hope everyone manages to at least get their payments refunded.

misha18 · 12/03/2010 08:01

Just though I'd leave a link that might be useful to anyone looking into claiming money back via card companies for non delivered goods:

misha18 · 12/03/2010 09:54

Me again - sorry if it looks like I'm forever on mumsnet (only wish I had the time to be!!) but just to keep everyone updated.
Just rang Holz there answering the phones now!!- but didn't really give a proper explanation for what technical problems they'de been having.
However they said that my order was going out now on an "A service" to be with me no later than Tues 16th - 4 items are missing as they've no stock/have been discontinued - and Holz couldn't be specific about how quickly the refund would be done back to my card?

stealthsquiggle · 12/03/2010 11:37

Many Thanks Misha - inspired by that I have just called and got exactly the same response - but she did have my order in front of her and was able to tell me exactly which items were not available (only one of which I really cared about) so I am feeling a lot more confident now.

Fingers crossed for Tuesday. The order which did arrive is all gorgeous stuff - even nicer than it looked online - so I may now do what I had intended which was to place a further order to stock up my present cupboard.

OP posts:
silverfrog · 12/03/2010 14:57

same here. I got back from school run at lunchtime ready to do battle again, and was very surprised to have the phone answered!

The lady sounded very genuine (if a littel stressed!), and again quickly found my order, as well as all my messages .

So, parcel got sent today, will be here by tues latest, and only 1 item missing - yay!

I don't think there's anything else I wanted, but might be tempted to have another browse...

stealthsquiggle · 12/03/2010 17:23

To be fair, they have now removed the stuff which they told me was out of stock from the website, so the lights are still on and someone is still there.

[phew] I was starting to feel very guilty at having posted the discount code.

OP posts:
letsdoittogether · 14/03/2010 04:46

No parcel and no refund...duped

Mindy73 · 14/03/2010 08:12

letsdoittogether - have you rung them since the phones re-opened? I know you said in a previous post that what you ordered was now out of stock but wondered if you'd chased the refund.
When I got through, I was told that my order had been sent out minus one item and I'd automatically get a refund for that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the parcel and refund appear this week otherwise I'll be back on that phone!!!

letsdoittogether · 14/03/2010 10:05

will ring again Monday. Have sent them an email too as I cannot afford to buy another birthday present without the refund first. I strongly feel that the debit shouldn't activate till the day they send out the merchandise. There is nothing on the internet anywhere that says they are a company in trouble and so I think it is just incredibly poor customer service.

4madboys · 14/03/2010 10:24

oh this isnt good at all, i have used holz toys quite a few times, well i normally point out things i like to mil and she gets them we have never had any problems at all.

hope it gets sorted for you, maybe they just experienced higher demand than they expected or something? they are usually pretty good.

fingers crossed parcels arrive asap for you all.
