Only a few days left until we hear the outcome/offer for primary admissions (to reception). Anyone else finding the wait tricky?!

I was a wreck when it's was 1st dc turn to be offered a school. We didn't get our first choice and I was so upset. Much more chilled now and only put the one place down for my 3rd dc.

@purplecup Gosh that does sound more chilled!
I'm waiting to find out the place for my first (& only) dd. It's a tricky process - good that it's become easier for you over time 😊

I’ve just checked mine again and it still just says LA received application. I hope it changes in 40mins!

I forgot until I saw this 🙈. It’s been a stressful year and as someone else mentioned panicking that I have forgotten to apply for dc3’s school place. Only applied for one school our village primary where her sister is in reception and brother is in yr1. It is a good school and has a lot of out of catchment applications. I know a few are concerned as this year has a lot of siblings already at school and live closer so fingers crossed all get what they want. Really hoping her good friend from preschool gets in as she lives out of catchment and has no siblings.

@Mokaloli the first time is a horrible waiting game but there is often wiggle room and I know many people who have eventually been offered the first choice.
We moved area and it's just been a given my dc would get in to our chosen school. It certainly wasn't the case in the area I use to live in!

I wondered if there was a thread on this! I'm hoping DS2 has got a place at our village primary school. 6 years ago DS1 didn't get in and we lost our appeal as well. It was a hugely stressful time, so I'm feeling quite nervous as the waiting is bringing it all back! Hope you all get your first choice school.

Can’t sleep so will check after midnight, although the portal says after 8:30am. Just hoping it’s so everyone doesn’t crash the site!

Our portal updated bang on midnight, DS2 has been offered a place at our village primary which was our first choice. So relieved. Good luck to all.

Portal updated. 1st choice as expected. Third child. Less of a concern tbh.

If you don’t get your choices please don’t be too disheartened.

@PremiumRoll, same here. I've applied for 6 but we're not in catchment area for any and neither do we fit the first 4 criteria....next 18 odd hours are going to be painful!

School is always under subscribed so should be fine, but it's always a worry until it's confirmed isn't if!

My son started reception last year. On the 15th April last I remember I felt so nervous, I couldn't relax at all and I had knots in my stomach all day that got worse as the day went on. I just desperately wanted him to get the place at the school we wanted, out of 3 options it was the only 1 we loved or even liked and the only 1 we would have been happy for him to go to.
Fortunately he got his place there, I was shaking as I opened that email, then I cried my eyes out because I was so happy.
