Swearing in year 3 reading book

babyin2020 · 04/11/2020 17:58

My 7 year old in year 3 came home today with a new book for reading at home he opened the book and handed it to me. The first line of the book opens with swearing. Do you think this is appropriate?

@JohnnyJohnnyYesMama

Seriously still no swear word ?!
No, because the OP is busily trying to locate a printing press in order to mock up a copy of "Biff, Chip and Kipper get fucking rat-arsed and do some bad swears".
cerealkillah · 05/11/2020 18:11

I just scrolled through this whole thread and there's still fuck all!!

yummymushypeas · 05/11/2020 18:12

@YoureAllABunchOfBastards

'Not the magic fucking key again, you little bastards' cried Mum
Don't get me started on the magic fucking key. I'd like to shove it up Biff's arse.
ktp100 · 05/11/2020 18:16

Jeeeezus, has she STILL not come back??!!

It really bugs me when people dangle a Mumsnet carrot then bugger off.

Diva66 · 05/11/2020 18:18

It’s called ‘Why the fuck do twats start a thread and then bugger off’.

(Joke)

ddl1 · 05/11/2020 18:19

It depends on the word or expression. Was it 'Oh for God's sake!' or 'You motherfucking cunt!' There's a difference!

Butterbeeeen · 05/11/2020 18:22

I work in a school. My absolute fave is a book called 'the hairy fairy' including the line why is your fairy so hairy?

Lowkeevslucille · 05/11/2020 18:23

I bet it's fat

Nothing is more offensive these days Grin

Is it one of the Elmer Elephant book by any chance OP?

lilstarr99 · 05/11/2020 18:24

@Findahouse21

Depends what the word is - my swearing is not necessarily yours. Hell is fine, cunt less so
🤣🤣
EdithWeston · 05/11/2020 18:26

Advanced reader, Swallows and Amazons and Titty?

katy1213 · 05/11/2020 18:26

Oh, bums!

PigletJohn · 05/11/2020 18:27

In one of my previous incarnations, I had a letter of complaint from a couple who walked out of the theatre because, in a heavy rainstorm, a character camping on an island looked up at the sky and said "My god, why are you doing this to me?"

They considered it blasphemous.

DryRoastPeanut · 05/11/2020 18:28

Maybe @babyin2020 is in labour. I bet she’s grunting, screaming and swearing like a trooper.

ILikeTrains · 05/11/2020 18:28

Hmmm, 9 pages and still no reveal - what a click tease!

combatbarbie · 05/11/2020 18:29

I reckon a character is called Dick or Fanny.... DD came home with a Dick story

Goslowlysideways · 05/11/2020 18:32

Is it
"Biff fuck off with your magic key said Kipper"
????

yetanothernamitynamechange · 05/11/2020 18:33

My five year old was very upset and told me his dads friend (we are separated) had called him “the C word” 🤭
Imagine my relief when on further questioning it turned out the C word was cute. (My son does not like being considered cute)

yetanothernamitynamechange · 05/11/2020 18:33

Is the swear word Trump?
