I remember reading a thread this time last year about this but my searches have proved fruitless.

About 7 or 8 of us mums will be clubbing together. Last year we bought M&S vouchers and a bunch of flowers.

What would you most like to receive from your pupils and their parents?

TIA

Our school has just brought out a new code of conduct that says teachers can't accept gifts from pupils worth over £10. Trouble is, no-one's told the parents - could get a little embarrassing on the last day of term......

Vouchers for shops such as M&S, John Lewis, Lush, etc.
Spa voucher
Wine/champagne
Meal out voucher
etc.

I was thinking of giving dd teacher as well as the teaching assistants a little box of chocolates and then a present for the school, perhaps some of the well done certificates that I buy for my own classes that the teacher could use next year.

had not thought of us all clubing togethr, I may ask at the school gates tomorrow what others are doing.

Blandmum · 01/07/2007 21:03

I'm giving my kids' teachers/ Tas a big box of M and S biscuits that they can share through the last manic week of term!

peachygirl · 01/07/2007 21:04

Nice smellies, wine or chocolates or even a nice mug for the staffroom.
Flowers are nice but remember some of us might be jetting off on our hols the very next day and then we have to give them away.

Whatever you do DO NOT buy things,e.g. photo frames that say 'the best teacher' etc - where do you think we are going to put them????

cece · 01/07/2007 21:04

Alcohol of any sort but preferably red wine. Personally I would prefer not to get chocolates or scented candles.

Whizzz · 01/07/2007 21:05

Yes, don't forget the TAs (I'd like a big wad of cash please )

mckenzie · 01/07/2007 21:05

lunch year I did it for the whole class (with another mum) and it was flipping hard work. So this year a smaller group of us have decided to club together.
And we do always buy for the TA aswell.
But what about the 'floating' teacher (sure they have a proper title but I dont know what it is) who takes the class for one day a week?

DH always ends up eating them all as I am not keen on choc.

mckenzie · 01/07/2007 21:07

'lunch year'???????
I meant of course 'last year'.
My late night last night has caught up with me.
