Is there an anxiously awaiting primary school places thread yet?
One week to go and it’s all I can think about. We are on Easter holidays from pre school and it’s going so so slow waiting.
Does anyone know what time we find out?

Our email came through at 00.27. It is a huge relief we got our first choice which whilst it may not have the best ofsted of the three, it is the one that works best for us being smaller

SheStoodInTheStorm · 16/04/2018 07:24

@JZ1987 Warwickshire here too...website is down. Emails from 8:30am apparently.

Ohb0llocks · 16/04/2018 07:25

2nd choice here, which was almost first and I'd been having doubts about the 1st so very happy!

JZ1987 · 16/04/2018 07:26

Herja what catchment are you

Glowbug59 · 16/04/2018 07:31

Managed to log on at 12.20 after much refreshing, got first choice with sibling. Was very relieved, still didn’t sleep well! Brew

MrsPussinBoots · 16/04/2018 07:34

Well I still haven't had an email but logged into the website at midnight and DD got into our first choice. It was very close on distance so am very relieved.

Childrenofthesun · 16/04/2018 07:42

Probably a stupid a question but how do you accept a place?

Check with your LEA. In some places acceptance is automatic so you don't need to do anything.

Ohb0llocks · 16/04/2018 07:46

@mommathatwearspink I'm Lancashire the email came at 06:59 am

QueenOfMyWorld · 16/04/2018 07:52

I got the place I wanted! .logged onto the council to view.havent received e mail yet

Elementtree · 16/04/2018 07:56

First place, as expected with a sibling link but still a relief with bumper crop of kids locally.

thatwhichwecallarose · 16/04/2018 08:04

Such relief here - same school as DD1! Email came through 1am, but I was asleep then having frantically refreshing the portal from 12. Think it finally updated at 12.10!

thatwhichwecallarose · 16/04/2018 08:05

Can’t belive it’s possible to have no place 😱 that’s atrocious!

FemaleDilbert · 16/04/2018 08:14

First choice here, catchment with sibling so pretty much a dead cert but glad to have it confirmed

BonjourMinou · 16/04/2018 08:21

I managed to log into the admissions site and saw we got first choice - great - but I don't know next steps... do I just wait for an email? How do I accept the place?

JZ1987 · 16/04/2018 08:22

Let me know is anyone gets into WARWIRCKSHIRE COUNCIL’S SCHOOL PORTAL Confused

1Potato2 · 16/04/2018 08:23

Thanks hotchips. I'll try that

QueenOfMyWorld · 16/04/2018 08:24

Bonjour you don't have to do anything the school contacts you I believe

drspouse · 16/04/2018 08:43

First choice but again sibling and v close so not too surprising.
Wait to hear from the school now!

QueenofWhisperz · 16/04/2018 08:43

In London, haven't heard. Shitting myself with anxiety.

hotchips · 16/04/2018 08:49

We’ve had the email now too @1Potato2 Good luck. 🍀

GeekyWombat · 16/04/2018 08:50

Queen I don’t think you’ll hear until 5pm. Hope it’s not a terrible day waiting.

QueenofWhisperz · 16/04/2018 09:06

@geekywombat

I'm always a ball of nerves anyway. Sweatily rocking in corners imagining the worst is my speciality.

DrDreReturns · 16/04/2018 09:11

I'm in Worcestershire and we had an e-mail first thing this morning. DD has got a place at her first choice middle school so we're happy!

Soph88 · 16/04/2018 09:13

My DD has an offer for our 3rd choice. 1st choice was catchment and is about 0.5 miles away from our house. I'm gutted, I can't quite believe how many other children there must have been that were catchment and sibling or catchment and closer. I'm hoping following rejections she will get a place. Does anyone have experience of that is it something that is likely or am I just getting my hopes up for nothing?

drspouse · 16/04/2018 09:20

DrDre gosh I'm so happy we are in a primary/secondary area not first/middle/upper or infant/junior/secondary as I'd hate to have to go through this more than twice per child!

And I bet you have a much lower chance of getting a sibling place with a 3-level system too as even with a 3 year gap children would be moving on to juniors the same year their younger sibling is moving in to infants - my DCs are 2 1/2 years apart and are two school years apart but with different birthdays I'd have one entering infants at the same time as one entering juniors Confused
