3+ 4+ 5+ 7+ support thread 2018

In previous years I have started these threads to help and support all those involved in the independent school admissions process.

I wasn't going to start one this year as I know I would not be able to check back on it as regularly as I would like, which then defeats the purpose of the thread.

However, after numerous positive PM's about the threads I think it would be a shame not to start one where at least the hand holding can continue.

There are many many people who have been through the process and 'live to tell the tale' . There are also other tutors I know who read this thread and it would be great if you all could help and support and share your ideas👏🏼

I think the second round parent interview is a new process started 1 or 2 years ago.

My guess is, they have their top girls and waitlist ones pretty much sorted. Just checking out the parents are fairly normal people who aren't...neurotic or ... you know.

They will offer perhaps 45-50 and waitlist 20-25?

Anyway, don't worry too much and just be yourself, you know, like we tell the girls!

We didn’t receive an email from Habs yesterday so assuming it’s a no-go for us. We still have NLCS but again not hopeful - I think we just did not appreciate the landscape and how prepared some of the girls can be, and were a bit too laid back about things or it may be that these schools aren’t not right for DD at this stage .. hey ho.

In the spirit of being optimistic - what should we be looking out for if we did get through to Round 2 NLCS?

May I know if anyone applied to channing and has heard from them regarding round 2?

We have applied to Channing, but have not heard anything yet. Have also applied to St Helen's. Anyone heard from them?

Thanks for that, lovemybabies2much. Good to know we are alone. Just was getting anxious because round 2 is next Monday. Was wondering whether a rejection is likely to come later.

@lotrmummy channing are still doing round 1 assessments today so perhaps news from tomorrow , good luck x

My earlier comments apply to Habs boys & not girls- sorry for confusion

Any tips ladies on St Albans High School for Girls 4+ assessments, what to prepare for? Also in anticipation (highly optimistic!) any tips for NLCS 2nd round?

I know of 4 siblings that have been called back for round 2 at habs

I know of at least three siblings who haven't had the call back at habs

But have no idea how many get offered places

@habsmummy is that just habs girls siblings or both habs boys and girls? X

@fitnessfanatic I am talking about habs girls. I am hearing that quite a few siblings have not been called back this year

They said at assessment that they call back 80.
