Joined it recently, but might have to leave - so depressed at the level of incompetence! This weekend I've seen threads from a teacher of 30+ years who says that phonics is to blame for all her non-readers in Y2, a teacher who wants to know how to collect evidence in Y2 for explaining writers' use of figurative language (don't bother - you're reading the Y6 interim framework, love Wink) and a teacher who wants advice on dealing with 'figgity' children. And loads if threads asking to be spoonfed to plan EVERYTHING down to the last detail. Or threads that say 'do we have to teach such and such? Where can I find out? Thanks in advance.' READ THE BLOODY CURRICULUM!

And breathe.

Oh Christ Confused. ... that's all!!!!

IlsaLund · 16/12/2016 19:03

Two making me wince tonight are Twinkl KS2 where people love the non-homework sheet that periodically pops up. The 'spend time with your friends', 'make someone smile'.
How about, just not setting homework, and not wasting a sheet of paper.

On Twinkl KS1 there is the poor soul who cares more then anyone else, is more creative then anyone else etc etc (and she knows that her colleagues don't) and she is hurt because she only got 6 presents

That was the object of my 'oh Christ' ... wtaf!!!!? Really Xmas Confused

RandomDent · 16/12/2016 19:17

That takes the biscuit! Only six presents, poor snowflake. Confused

FabulouslyGlamourousFerret · 16/12/2016 19:22

Someone replied a 'you're so shallow' type comment and I was mentally high 5ing her .. then she wrote 'as long as them children go home with a smile on their lil I may have added the 'lil' faces then I'm happy'

... and I died a little and let my eager high 5 hand drop back down!!

Feenie · 16/12/2016 19:28

I would love her to post on MN that she only got six presents.

There would be carnage, that's for sure.

FabulouslyGlamourousFerret · 16/12/2016 19:41

Yes, it certainly would be carnage!! I reckon at least 500 posts with many, many message deletions GrinGrin

HarrietVane99 · 16/12/2016 19:45

'them children'? Please tell me it wasn't a teacher who wrote that!

mrz · 16/12/2016 19:46

To be fair she had been debating with herself "weather or not to post" Hmm

Saucery · 16/12/2016 19:52

Maybe SMT take away one of her gifts from parents every time she makes a SPaG mistake?

FabulouslyGlamourousFerret · 16/12/2016 19:58

I shit you not Harriet .. I shit you not!

mrz I missed that!!

To be fair, It's probably because she's so exhausted from all the extra touches she's put into making her teaching sparkle!

FabulouslyGlamourousFerret · 16/12/2016 20:01

Pahaha Saucery Xmas Wink

HarrietVane99 · 16/12/2016 20:06

I've always been thankful I'm old enough to have been at school when teachers were capable of speaking, writing and most of all teaching Proper English.

Feenie · 17/12/2016 12:00

Staggering that so many teachers have no idea about safeguarding. A teacher posted a calendar with the names of her entire class on it. A sensible person pointed out the safeguarding issue and within minutes there were loads of 'god, you can't do anything on here without the 999 police' and'ignore them, it's a lovely idea and I'm stealing it'.

Twinkl deleted it, so she put up another post complaining about people who reported it. It was pointed out to her that you could find her school in about two minutes by googling and then there were posters complaining about stalking! That was pulled too. Stupid, stupid people. Scary.

Well I know exactly where she works, and so could anyone else. Stupid, stupid woman.

OP posts:
RandomDent · 17/12/2016 13:02

Not that I feel sorry for only-six-presents woman, but I thought it was a little harsh for so many people to chime in with agreement, but then list the masses of gifts they had received!

Feenie · 17/12/2016 13:24

Presumably they also know her name too. The 999 police could do a lot worse than just reporting her to the group moderators. She should probably count herself lucky she still has a job.

IlsaLund · 17/12/2016 14:57

Random - that did make me laugh.

Although I did once work for a HT who used to insist we all took our presents up to the staffroom at the end of the day so she could see who had the most and redistribute them if she felt fit.

We used to agree on a number (if possible we'd find out how many she had been given) hide the others and take! up the same amount that she had

Feenie · 17/12/2016 15:03

Seriously? Wow. Shock

OP posts:
IlsaLund · 17/12/2016 17:32

Looking back I can't believe it - it was more than 25 years ago when I was an NQT - now I'd tell her where to shove her presents and march out with my own (hoping my pile was really big in order to annoy her)

mrz · 17/12/2016 19:14

The reading intervention thread is really testing my resolve not to post!
