RatOnnaStick · 16/04/2015 16:15

Still waiting in Kent

ButterflyUpSoHigh · 16/04/2015 16:15

Great news for those who got the schools they wanted. Those that didn't try not to panic things can change a lot between now and September. Thanks

My council don't give statistics yet. They will be in the online booklet for those applying for September 2016 places in August.

MrsGannicus · 16/04/2015 16:15

Just us then Annie. I am not having a very productive day. How confident are you feeling? I think we have 70% chance of first choice and guaranteed second choice so not too bad compared to others.

meg76uk · 16/04/2015 16:17

AnnieLewis, I've had mine but only because of a bit of a clusterf*ck. He was on 4th school's list as of 6pm last night, so the school sent us an offer letter which arrived this morning. I rang higher choice school thinking to get on wait list asap, and THEY have him on their list. Apparently a place opened last night at higher choice school, so (barring further crisis) he's going there. I rang LEA to confirm. Lesson here is that they all have the info (and were all pretty open about discussing with me) and appear to be just making us wait for fun...

ihearttc · 16/04/2015 16:19

teaching we haven't had an email but you can log in and check with your email and password you used to register online.

AnnieLewis · 16/04/2015 16:20

MrsGannicus I really don;t know anymore, its hard to tell. There have been rumours flying around all week that there are only 16 siblings this intake (which is really good) so IF thats true it bodes well. But who knows. Massively oversubscribed for choice 1 and 2 and choice 3 and 4 are ones that I don't really want...

DS will be going next year so its effectively waiting for both their fate - I can't take the pressure!!!!!

AnnieLewis · 16/04/2015 16:22

Can I just check am I meant to be checking the e-admissions site and logging in there? Its not the actual council site but there doesn't seem to be anything on there anyway!

Helish · 16/04/2015 16:27

We got our first choice. Very surprised as it was massively oversubscribed last year and we would have been out of catchment, so I was convinced we would get our second choice and had been planning accordingly. Very pleased we put it down as our first choice as a bit of a long shot.

AnnieLewis · 16/04/2015 16:27

meg76uk I'm sure theyve all known for a few days. Why they wait us wait til close of business is beyond me! Especially as some people found out at midnight last night! SO unfair!

AnnieLewis · 16/04/2015 16:28

Helish are you London by any chance???

Ok, need to step away from the computer for a bit now and sort dinner. Be back soon. Good luck those still waiting!

MrsGannicus · 16/04/2015 16:29

Annie yes I'm in the eadmissions site too and refreshing every now and then. Nothing yet though. Good luck to you!

PseudoBadger · 16/04/2015 16:34

I'm on the tube now. Maybe by the time I come out the other end I'll have an email?

sethcohen · 16/04/2015 16:34

Come on London! I am getting really fed up of waiting now.

Helish · 16/04/2015 16:34

anne, no sorry, I'm Brighton. Thought they were bad enough keeping us hanging on till this afternoon

longestlurkerever · 16/04/2015 16:36

I heard 5pm for London. 25 mins to go!

sethcohen · 16/04/2015 16:38

This is the longest day ever!

sanam2010 · 16/04/2015 16:40

I thought London was 5.30pm officially?

RatOnnaStick · 16/04/2015 16:40

Got 1st preference hooray. email took an agonising 28mins to be delivered.

AnnieLewis · 16/04/2015 16:41

Dont say that sanam2010 the suspense is killing me!!!

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/04/2015 16:42

Oh god you poor buggers still waiting Sad

I was shaking by 10 I can't imagine how stressed you all are

my thoughts are with you

JemFinch · 16/04/2015 16:43

Bromley says 'after 5pm' - so specific time. ARGHHHHH.

Teaching123 · 16/04/2015 16:44

God none of the 3 choices.

Got one with no before or after school club & I'm a full time working single mum.

Ugh. Promised myself I wouldn't be upset.

Anyone know if we are automatically on the waiting list for the other schools or not?

Thanks.

longestlurkerever · 16/04/2015 16:44

I think we have 90% chance of at least second choice school (well, technically I ranked it fourth but it's second realistic choice). But 10% chance of first choice school (technically second choice but ditto), which I really want. So could be a lot worse but still on tenterhooks - and slightly scared I might get neither and then who knows - there were no other schools I stood a chance of getting in, even the really dire ones are oversubscribed and we're too far away to get a place - I'd have to keep her in nursery till a place comes up. Luckily she is August birthday so I have a while till she HAS to go.

blowinahoolie · 16/04/2015 16:45

This is an eye opener, never heard of all this hype but I am in Scotland, system must be so different. There is nothing stressful about applying for a place, you just walk in to the school, pick up a form, fill it in, return it and get a letter to confirm your DC will attend.

Why is there so much hype??
