Holds hands with other Londoners. Long day ahead.

JemFinch · 16/04/2015 09:26

Arghh says 5pm here, but lots of friends who have done it before say it often goes up earlier.

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/04/2015 09:26

I'm sooooo nervous an hour and a half to go til emails start going out so could be hours still. how are we going to get through this

MTWTFSS · 16/04/2015 09:28

I have coffee I'm going to chuck dinner in the slow cooker then grab a bath. I feel sick

ilovesmarties · 16/04/2015 09:33

I'm in oxford and received my email at 04.46am today and very thankful that we got our first choice. Good luck the Londoners!!

gallicgirl · 16/04/2015 09:35

We got first choice. Out of catchment but under subscribed so DD had a reasonable chance of admission. Put our catchment school as 2nd place and would have been happy with either.

Also in Essex and it seems most people are happy with results. From a Facebook group I use, it would seem most problems are around Basildon.

longestlurkerever · 16/04/2015 09:36

Anyone in London? When you log in it's not even clear where the info will be posted - just says you can view your application. I've downloaded the app but not banking on it alerting me.

Good luck everyone still waiting. Congratulations and comiserations in equal measure to everyone else. Wine all round.

Longest - I'm assuming the screen will refresh or have another 'view offer' type button?

WhyBeHappyWhenYouCouldBeNormal · 16/04/2015 09:40

I'm London! Eek! Merton borough says they won't email till this evening - after 5pm i think, I logged onto the online thing but there's no info there as yet.

MTWTFSS · 16/04/2015 09:40

I've been on MN since 2010 and I still have no idea what "marking place" is Blush anyone care to explain while waiting please

In North Herts and not due to hear until after 6pm. The waiting is torture. I'm going out in a bit with DS2 for a long walk and to meet a friend, anything to take my mind off it..... We are by no means guaranteed a place in our local town (depends very much on sibling numbers I think) and the implications for the whole family if we get a school elsewhere are huge - practical, logistical, even financial.... shudder.

WhyBeHappyWhenYouCouldBeNormal · 16/04/2015 09:42

Why would they be so cruel??? Is it to make it fairer for people getting results posted?

WhyBeHappyWhenYouCouldBeNormal · 16/04/2015 09:44

Thats the problem isn't it confused - not just that we want little hugo/huggette to go to the best school, but its all of those other family choices that rely on it like affordable practical childcare, work... if renting where the family lives for the next few years...

I keep moaning that 6 months isn't enough notice!

coppertop · 16/04/2015 09:48

MTWTFSS - Marking place just means posting on a thread so that it appears in your 'Threads I'm on'.

I got my first choice so I'm very relieved!

Best of luck to anyone still waiting.

Sorry to those of you with bad news. Flowers

chickensandbees · 16/04/2015 09:49

DD2 got the first and only choice, but its a village school and DD1 is already there so no surprise. I'm surprised I was so nervous waiting to find out.

I'm now ridiculously a little emotional that my baby is going to start school in September!

We got our first (and only) choice :) But we are another lot who live in the middle of nowhere with a village school attended by older siblings.

Kittykatzen · 16/04/2015 10:04

Third choice here. Gutted does not even begin to describe how I feel. We will have to drive past our first choice (where we are in catchment) 2.4 miles to recently downgraded school, and the kick to the teeth is that the wrap around care is provided at our first choice so will have to get minibus back there every day. Praying for waiting list but frantically considering alternatives

MrsChocolateBrownie · 16/04/2015 10:05

Confused - Herts said the same thing last year, I know emails went out earlier (ours for example was just before 4pm) so fx it's not as long a wait for you

whattodooo · 16/04/2015 10:08

Got our first choice this morning so very happy about that, but at the same time..... youngest is officially off to big school Sad

MTWTFSS · 16/04/2015 10:08

Still another 5-8 hours wait Shock
