First choice here, thank goodness!

Still no email though!

Coldcabbagestew · 16/04/2015 20:43

Another first choice here. Very relieved. Lots of very stressed mums on my local Facebook page. Sounds like the distance for our school was tiny this year.

Getdownfromtherethisinstant · 16/04/2015 20:45

Quick question: I logged into Surrey, got our result and accepted it at about 5.15pm. I've still not had an email or parentcomms message - is that because I've effectively preempted the notification or are they really taking this long to arrive?

AliceAnneB · 16/04/2015 20:52

Haringey folks do you mind sharing if you were inside the last years published distances? I'm wondering if they got bigger or smaller.

festivehopeandfrolicks · 16/04/2015 21:18

Also interested in Haringey distances

mickeyfartpants · 16/04/2015 21:18

First choice! Massively oversubscribed! Next door neighbour didn't get in last year! We've been very lucky Grin

I am London - in the borough next to Haringey. I am 0.01 mile inside the catchment area for first choice but it also has a priority zone so chances were so slim!

BigBroIsWatching · 16/04/2015 21:19

I am Surrey too, and also accepted the same time. Still no email so I guess they are just taking time filtering through.
Shall be receiving a letter from school confirming within next few weeks, I guess.

surreygirl · 16/04/2015 21:31

I'm in Surrey too. Grin Logged in at 5 to accept first choice place...email then came through at 8.30pm....

BlackCanary · 16/04/2015 21:57

I'm in Haringey and we got our 4th choice....from talk on local parent sites, it seems catchment distances did shrink this year. Means lots of parents (myself included) will be taking their chanes on waiting lists.

MrsGrimes · 16/04/2015 22:15

Spoken with my LEA and because our preferred school is an academy I'll have to appeal or go on the waiting list through the school not through the LEA. Going to pop in on Monday morning when dropping DS off at the nursery and get the ball rolling. Otherwise I'm facing over an hour walk to school in September or four train journeys a day (plus more walking!)

IceBeing · 16/04/2015 22:15

gutted for my Dsis and Dnephew. Getting their 4th choice out of 5 and they didn't even bother listing the two closest schools to them as they didn't fancy faking faith, or the amazing science oriented place as it was stupidly oversubscribed.

Its a bit shit to get your 7th choice of school. In fact the word choice is completely inappropriate.

Hersetta427 · 16/04/2015 23:08

Got the email just before we stepped on a plane to fly to Spain for the weekend. DS got 1st choice but not surprising as he has an elder sibling.

Lots of people is his nursery class didn't get places so lots of unhappy people.

hillyhilly · 16/04/2015 23:11

thank you Hula baby, I had that info though from what I'm finding out, it appears to be inaccurate (or just plain wrong to put it more bluntly)

Getdownfromtherethisinstant · 16/04/2015 23:13

Good job I didn't wait for the email as it still hasn't arrived!

Getdownfromtherethisinstant · 16/04/2015 23:14

I have taken a screen shot of my acceptance though - paranoid!

longestlurkerever · 16/04/2015 23:19

Sorry to those disappointed. I am outside last year's catchment for first choice school and actually most years, so was very surprised. I am actually 0.2 miles away but last year was something silly like 0.12. Friends on the ladder seem to have benefited from the expansion of st Mary's which seems to have had a knock on effect on surrounding schools. Don't know about the rest of the borough though, sorry. Think they normally publish the stats quite soon after results day though.

longestlurkerever · 16/04/2015 23:20

Sorry that was in answer to the qs about Haringey. Good luck with waiting lists everyone.

mickeyfartpants · 16/04/2015 23:27

My boroughs stats are already up. We only made it in because of 3 fewer siblings this year!

Getdownfromtherethisinstant · 16/04/2015 23:34

I was looking at the stats and am intrigued - what is a 'divert '? Anyone know?

PrettyLittleMitty · 17/04/2015 07:11

Where do we get these stats? I can't find any info anywhere.

DebbieFiderer · 17/04/2015 07:16

Glad I didn't wait for my email, it came through at 3am, 3 hours after the email confirming my acceptance!

Not all areas will have published their stats yet; Surrey don't until 1st May.

PrettyLittleMitty · 17/04/2015 07:22

Anyone know if London publish these stats?

fluffymouse · 17/04/2015 07:36

Anyone know how I can find the exact distance between my home and a school?

I'm hoping to get a waiting list place at my first choice.

wormshuffled · 17/04/2015 07:49

Hello, does anyone know how the waiting list works please? If someone doesn't accept their place does it go automatically to the next person on the list or would you still need to appeal? Thanks

Almostapril · 17/04/2015 08:01

Worm it goes to the next person on the list. Your place on a wait list can go up and down - it's done by admissions criteria. In our LA the stats appear on the web site around 4pm on offer day
