Just logged in for eadmissions for Surrey and we were given our first choice Smile
The number of siblings has been increasing year after year, so no guarantee for our first born. Now I can relaxCake

longestlurkerever · 16/04/2015 17:17

You too! xx

Itshouldntmatter · 16/04/2015 17:17

Bromley here and so I guess we are waiting till tomorrow! We 'should' be a sure thing (sibling), but I want it in writing. Big sympathy to all those bromley first-timers! It is so cruel to promise a date and then to fail to meet it (even if it isn't their fault).

icclemunchy · 16/04/2015 17:19

No email here (Ealing) but logged on and we got our 2nd choice which was the first one that we had any real chance of getting Ito so we're thrilled (first choice was a faith school which we put as is our closest - although not catchment -!so would have been daft not too)

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/04/2015 17:20

boo hiss @ the more bad news Sad

still hugely happy and excited for the others though glad your all happy

AnnieLewis · 16/04/2015 17:22

MTWTFSS · 16/04/2015 17:23

Don't know if I'm being stupid but I can't see anywhere on the Birmingham eadmissions to accept or even where it says we've been offered. All I can see is my name, address and DS details. I've had the email confirming where we've got but just making sure I'm not missing an accept button online and missing out on our place.

AnnieLewis · 16/04/2015 17:24

Oh my god we got first chopice!!!!!!!!! Has everyone else found out?????

marryinhaste · 16/04/2015 17:25

I'm in Bromley - a friend of a friend has had an offer from them, so we might hear yet tonight! Fingers crossed!

MTWTFSS · 16/04/2015 17:26

GreatBigHoo86 In my experience councils LOVE hiding things! Hopefully someone will be able to navigate you soon :)

No Email or message on the app thing but have found it on the website. We got our first choice here in Surrey. It was expected as we are close and have a sibling priority, but it is starting a relief to know for sure.

fluffymouse · 16/04/2015 17:35

In London. Didn't get first choice (our local school). I'm gutted. I put all 6 choices down as I was being realistic but had my heart set on the first choice. The school we have been offered is a bus ride away.

I will call tomorrow to see about the waiting list.

WhyBeHappyWhenYouCouldBeNormal · 16/04/2015 17:39

Fluffymouse Fingers crossed that they have a short waiting list and in the scuffle for places someone frees one up for you.

My council has published a list of all the applications they had, and has a little list of schools that still have places or short waiting lists - you could see if yours has similar so you know if there's any hope?

Getdownfromtherethisinstant · 16/04/2015 17:40

Got first choice, Woo hoo!

Hulababy · 16/04/2015 17:41

hillyhilly - sorry to hear you didn't get your Sheffield junior preferences. Parents of the y2s I teach will be finding out today too - will be interesting to her more tomorrow morning as some are not in catchment for our infants but got places 3 years ago, but may affect if they were hoping for the junior school next door.

WhyBeHappyWhenYouCouldBeNormal · 16/04/2015 17:41

There are a lot of first choices on this thread - which is a good sign!

TheEndOfTheWorldAsIKnowIt · 16/04/2015 17:42

Not sure if anyone will know but we got an offer for our second choice which I am happy with but I have read that you go on the waiting list for your first choice. If I accept our second choice will we still go on the waiting list for the first or do I need to not accept the offered school in order to be put on the waiting list?
Thanks

theyoniwayisnorthwards · 16/04/2015 17:43

1st choice! Phew.

WhyBeHappyWhenYouCouldBeNormal · 16/04/2015 17:45

TheEndOfTheWorldAsIKnowIt The only time you decline the offer is basically if you are moving out the area or have decided to homeschool, so you accept but tick the box to go on the waiting list/ call to go on the waiting list

Hulababy · 16/04/2015 17:54

hillyhilly - don't kno if this is useful to you re looking at how you might get on re waiting lists for your preferred Sheffield schools: www.sheffield.gov.uk/education/information-for-parentscarers/pupil-admissions/primary-school/oversubscribed-schools.html

englishbreakfast · 16/04/2015 17:56

I'm in Bromley, can't believe we might not find out today - its beyond frustrating! Congrats to all who got their first/second choices...

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/04/2015 17:59

They knew this day was coming you'd think they'd check the systems first before today Sad

really sorry you won't find out

beecrazy · 16/04/2015 17:59

My grandson is Bromley too and in a 'desert' area, not in any of last years catchment areas. So frustrating having to wait, rubbish council.
