I started the below thread last year and have had so many people find it useful I thought it might be worth doing it again.

I have had a number of messages asking if I have any spaces in my classes. I'm really sorry but I have been at full capacity for some time now.

However, I do appreciate that this is a very stressful time of year for parents who have children sitting these private school assessments in January. So, I'm hoping that by setting up this support group thread I can help by answering some questions you have about these assessments.

Hopefully this thread will also contain some useful insight from the experiences of parents who have already been through the process.

mumteacher. I thought habs and NLCS are sending letters out on Monday the 2nd Feb for 7+ results. Where have you heard that they are already out?

examnewbie · 31/01/2015 22:28

She was talking about CC which I assume is Colet Court.

7plusMum · 31/01/2015 22:33

Thanks for clarifying examnewbie

Only4Child · 01/02/2015 12:13

We should all take it easy. These are moody toddlers we're talking about and even the schools see them as such, I hope! At Habs 4+ second round, the Head of the Junior School thanked our daughter for coming to see him. In a loud and clear voice she pipes up with "you're welcome,". He burst out laughing while we hauled her out before any more faux pas!!!

letsplayscrabble · 01/02/2015 21:29

My daughter refused to say goodbye to Mrs Charlesworth (the then head) at her Habs second assessment and just grunted. I nearly had a fit but of course didn't feel that telling her off would help. She got a place. Who knows that they are looking for.

hertsmummy1979 · 02/02/2015 19:46

I am also waiting to hear from habs 4+. I thought we heard today but it must be tomorrow? does anyone know? desperate for my DD to get in as my eldest is there and the teacher is great. Fingers crossed for everyone

Brightideas · 02/02/2015 20:23

I agree. So obvious. I'm a tutor and parent (this year). I've been appalled at the obvious phishing - and, moreover, of the lack of helpful support in parents' time of need. Shameful.

Ilovemykids33 · 03/02/2015 09:46

Good luck to those waiting on 4+ today..

london2015mum · 03/02/2015 10:16

Anyone heard anything yet on the London girls schools 4+? Don't get our post until late so I'm wondering if any emails have gone out too?

hello23 · 03/02/2015 10:19

Emails are out

london2015mum · 03/02/2015 10:35

Oh, is that for all schools? Waiting on Channing, SHHS and NLCS

CB2009 · 03/02/2015 10:39

Rarely ever post but understand the anxiety so anything that might help those waiting. Our good friends have heard this morning already from NLCS (sadly a no) but not yet heard from SHHS for 4+

Neena15 · 03/02/2015 10:46

Is NLCS emailing everyone as well as sending the letter?

hello23 · 03/02/2015 11:03

Yes we got an email and letter. Sadly a 'no'

hello23 · 03/02/2015 11:04

That was for NLCS

Only4Child · 03/02/2015 11:09

We got a letter from Habs this morning. Reserve list :|

hertsmummy1979 · 03/02/2015 11:21

we got a 'yes' from habs but also NLCS. Will be choosing habs :)

hertsmummy1979 · 03/02/2015 11:21

good luck everyone

AmIIndecisive · 03/02/2015 11:37

Well done Hertsmummy, we did the same and are extremely happy with our decision! Grin

CB2009 · 03/02/2015 11:45

Our good friends just got an offer at 4+ from SHHS. Hard copy letter through door rather than e-mail. Needless to say they are very relieved and happy

Only4Child · 03/02/2015 12:22

Well done Hertsmummy and AmIIndecisive! What year - 4+/7+?

vvnsmum · 03/02/2015 12:25

Yes from Habs, no from NLCS. Good luck everyone!

dpmum73 · 03/02/2015 12:43

We got letters (but no email) from SHHS, St Christopher's and Channing this morning. 'Yes' from SHHS and St Christopher's, waitlist from Channing.

Only4Child · 03/02/2015 12:50

Does anyone know how the wait/reserve lists work at these schools? Do they call one by one as they get offer rejections or wait for the last day for acceptance and then open up the second list? Also, for those who have offers, what is the date for acceptance? Thanks!

dpmum73 · 03/02/2015 12:54

Date for acceptance of offers is Wednesday 11th of Feb. Not sure how the wait list offers are made sorry.
