Fully expecting my DD to come home saying "nothing" or "I can't remember", she has actually reported back on her first two days:

DAY 1
She had assembly. She had to sit crossed-legged. The bigger children clapped in time with the piano and sang a song.
She had to sit on the carpet.
She didn't get to play with the bead toy even though she wanted to, because it was tidy-up time.
She sat next to Rebecca.
They explained about a bell, but she doesn't know when it rings or why.

DAY 2
They explained again about the bell, but she still doesn't know when it rings or why.
They didn't have assembly.
She drew a picture of herself, including a nose.
They all sang "heads, shoulders, knees and toes", and then did it fast.
Rebecca cried but she didn't know why.
They had playtime for the first time and she rode around on a mini trike, which was brilliant.
No one played on the pirate ship.
She had some milk, which means she will grow up big and strong.

Anyone else had a report back?!

I'm so jealous - DS2 can't remember and DS1 is in Y2 and still can't be bothered to remember!

CapuccinoCannoliLover · 06/09/2012 14:11

According to DS1;

They had to sit cross-legged on a carpet
Daniel was 'cross of everyone and naughty'
the teacher had a star wars sticker on
Freya took the bike and he was 'very cross of her'
Edward was in his class, but not in his class(?!?)
'We had a picnic of milk and I ate a bit of carrot'
DS told teacher that 'we went on the plane to the Italy house, what about you, do you go to Italy?'
'There is a big see-saw, did you sit on it Mummy when you was smaller?'
and 'I went to the toilet twice Mummy, Ollie was there'

HipHopOpotomus · 06/09/2012 14:12

First day today - DD skipped to school singing "I'm a school girl, I'm a school girl", was bright as a button in the HT's office and chatted away confidently & greeted her teacher (and HT) by name.
No tears and we left her playing happily with a girl she knew from nursery.

Can't wait to find out all about it this evening!!

naturalbaby · 06/09/2012 14:13

There are pencil sharpeners. No rubbers.

He found his friend at playtime, who is in the other class, but he can't remember who he sat next to in the classroom.

dontcallmehon · 06/09/2012 14:18

dd said that there were some friends. Then they went away and there were some other friends. And she doesn't know their names [loud wails].

Despite the meltdowns, she does seem to like school. She comes home exhausted and covered in chalk and paint.

cryhavoc · 06/09/2012 14:21

DD's first morning today.

She got a sticker for tidying really well, which is good because it's got a bunny on it and bunnies go hop hop hop. (Cue lots of hopping.)
She had raisins for snack, and do you know some people had tomatoes? But not DD though because tomatoes are sometimes a bit yucky.
She played with her friend I, but do you know S from nursery was there too? Not S with the curly hair who came to her birthday party, but S with the black hair.
They sat on a circle to have a story, which was the zoo one when they get a puppy at the end like we read at bedtime sometimes.
And they looked in the big playground and do you know you mustn't play on the blue climbing frame that is for big children only on the red one that is for the little children.

NCForNow · 06/09/2012 14:22

DD says she played "wiv nobody"...then "wiv somebody but don't know her name" she played in sand, she saw the gerbils and in the reading corner there is a green door and a red door..."they're new and they have numbers on them"

She ate fruit in a bag for snack and she saw her sister!

twinky · 06/09/2012 14:33

When asked what he did at school DS said "nuffing". When pressed he said he had a wee snooze in his chair. This has been the case for the last week.

NCForNow · 06/09/2012 15:11

That;s as bad as my older DD who told me "I sat in a corner and looked at a wall...then I had dust for lunch"

Confused

I thought I'd sent her to a nice school...not The Workhouse!

kweggie · 06/09/2012 15:27

lol 'dust for lunch'
when my dd1 started school I asked what she had done on her first day. she couldn't remember. So I asked her what she had for lunch. She couldn't remember. I pressed her, and after a lot of agonised thought she said 'meat'.
Desperate for feedback of any sort, I asked her 'What SORT of meat?
After a lot more solemn thought she said, 'I don't know what it was called but you had to go mwergh mwergh mwergh(mimes vigorous chewing motion )then put it on the side of your plate'.

(She is now a primary school teacher..I must ask if the dinners have improved..)

MrsCarriePooter · 06/09/2012 15:42

DD starts on Monday but these are making me Grin, she's so excited and now I can't wait to hear her reports! I can however tell you what I told my parents when I started primary school:

Day 1
Sharon cried.

Day 2
Sharon cried.

Day 3
Teacher said that if Sharon didn't stop crying she'd give her something to cry about.

Glad to see things have got better...

hugandroll · 06/09/2012 16:12

Well as predicted ds can't remember what he did. I asked if he made some friends and he said yes but can't remember their names.

He did come out with a drawing so I know they did that and he told me they played. He also has his first birthday party invite! Must be hard for September children starting reception, the teacher or assistants must have done the invites.

skyebluesapphire · 06/09/2012 16:48

What did you do today DD??

I did nothing. It was pants, which means everything is ruined. Everybody was naughty but not me and XXXX. I looked after XXXX. I ate my lunch. I told the teacher that my bedroom floor is covered in crap. (wonder where she got that word) ... Blush Blush We sang Hickory Dickory Dock and Wind The Bobbin Up. Then we sat on the carpet and went home.

Viewofthehills · 06/09/2012 16:56

This has reminded me.
When DS started he came home to tell me very seriously" Did i know? A knife is for guiding food gently on to your fork"

beanandspud · 06/09/2012 17:06

Day 2 of Reception:

'I had a music lesson and I learned to play the trombone'.

Should I be moving over to Gifted & Talented yet? GrinGrinGrin

bethjoanne · 06/09/2012 18:24

anna26anna · 06/09/2012 18:30

I am madly jealous of all this detail - and half laughing, half teary-eyed reading through the posts. I get one sentence if I'm lucky from my two DS's :) Ah well, still have DD (aged 2.5) to come, she should be good for a bit of chat about school!

fivegomadindorset · 06/09/2012 19:00

DS was very proud he didn't hit anyone Hmm disclaimer he only hits his sister.

avivabeaver · 06/09/2012 19:07

dd3 told me she blew bubbles and learned about teeth. some teeth talk and some teeth fall out. she had lunch but cant remember what and she didnt like the pudding. nobody else told her their name. she didnt play with anyone but liked playing with the things.

weblette · 06/09/2012 19:14

Ds had two playtimes, beyond that, nada!

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 06/09/2012 19:20

"I was a bit bored today mummy so I told my new teacher that I already know what she is talking so I'm just going outside to have a ittle play. If you shout me though I'll come back"

Grin
IWantAnotherBaby · 06/09/2012 19:36

Yesterday: DD did a drawing of her face and it was better than anyone elses. She also drew a castle and a panda. She ate all her packed lunch and it wasn't enough (frowning at mummy). She played with 2 big girls but didn't find out their names, and cried when 2 children in her class told her she didn't know everything, but stopped crying when they said she probably knew lots of things. She got a blue sticker with a smiley face which she put on a piece of paper and folded it up small in her bookbag so she wouldn't lose it. She thinks it is silly that she has to change her shoes every time they go inside and outside (which they seem to do a lot). She got sand in her socks.

Today: It was someone called Emily's birthday and she is FIVE. So DD got some sweets to bring home. All the girls got a pad with guinea pigs on it and a pencil for doing such good writing, and all the boys got a alien cuddly. She did lots of poos. She didn't eat everything in her packed lunch because she didn't have time (but it was enough - good mummy). She wishes people could go to school for ever and ever. She cried when I picked her up because she didn't want to leave school, but also because her brand new cardigan had left fluff all over her dress which was 'stupid'.

Dozer · 06/09/2012 20:33

DD (day 2) reports that she played, made a necklace, learned about superheroes and went to assembly but didn't listen to the talking. There are good and bad superheroes and the cleverest ones can blow fire and lift cars, like Granny!

yummytummy · 06/09/2012 21:13

aww these are so sweet! i really hope ds will be like this in a few weeks. he had 2nd day today and was crying when daddy dropped him off and then cried when i picked him up too. keeps saying "i dont like school" "do i have to be a big boy" really hope he settles in time.

he did say he ate pasta and garlic bread though and he wants to be a hot lunch person not a packed lunch person as the lunch boxes arent very cool and i should have found him a ben 10 lunchbox not a spiderman one!

ShutTheFrontDoor · 06/09/2012 21:21

He got told off 3 times for not listening and had cake and custard for pudding.
He has told me each day what he had for pudding but can't remember what he had for mains !
