Hi everyone,

I recieved my pills today and took the first one around 12pm. I've felt physically fine, made no difference. I'm absolutely terrified of taking the next set tomorrow. I've barely slept the last few days. I have been reading alot online and while there has been some positive stories, alot of the horrific ones are on my mind. I know it is different for everyone but I'm so scared.
The trouble I have is I am doing it alone. I live at home and no one knows. I cannot tell my family at all. I'm struggling on deciding when to take the second set of pills to be honest. I'm not sure if I should take it during the day and just brave it and maybe pass it off as bad period pain or at night and just have more peace of mind that no one will worry. It's really quiet sad that's where my head is at. I am 5 weeks and 1 day. I have never been pregnant before and my period pain is usually quiet mild. I was given 2 codine tablets at 30g but I also have co-codamol at home. Should I start with co-codamol (8g codiene) to begin with and then hours later take the codiene if needed. Can I take ibuprofen with co-codamol. I'm so scared

I had one a few years ago and it really wasn't painful at all. I know it's different for everyone and everyone has a different pain threshold, but it was like a normal period for me.

Few cramps and a similar amount of blood to normal period.

Yeah I do feel quiet alone tbh I think that's why I'm so scared. It's a bit tricky cos of my situation atm I defo can't tell family and I don't want to tell friends tbh, it's not so much that I dont want to be judged my my friends so much tbh it's more so for me I think it will be better for me to get passed it once it's over if they dont know. Plus with lockdown it's not like they can come over or anything and I dont wana worry anyone or make it suspicious to family. The father knows and he is supportive but he doesnt really know how to help tbh, hes struggling in his own way I guess and again it's not like he's physcially with me atm

Thinking of you. Thanks
Don't swallow them just let them dissolve in your cheek/teeth.

The first hour or so of bleeding will be the "worse" there will be biggish clots so don't be alarmed it's normal, then things will taper off and be period like x

@Winnie20 I know!! And that's the saddest thing it's what I'm scared about hiding it especially if in alot of pain or something goes wrong. From what everyone has said it should be okay tho! Soon over I hope. I will let u know how it goes and honestly if I get through this all okay def will help u every step of the way I can

@arianwe @ElectricTonight Thank you. Hoping it goes that way for me!
Just like I'm doubting so much but I know it's in my head

I have been reading alot online and while there has been some positive stories, alot of the horrific ones are on my mind.

Good god, woman - get off the Internet! Would you read about freak plane crashes before getting on a flight?

It's not going to help you to know how bad the pain might be or all the rare issues people might have. Everyone has a different pain threshold anyway so there's no point in reading other peoples descriptions of their own pain.

If you must go online, I would google breathing techniques to deal with anxiety and pain relief. You'll experience more pain if you tell yourself it's going to be super painful so get that idea out of your head and start telling yourself you can handle anything.

I would curl up on the bed with a hot water bottle and read a nice book or watch something upbeat. Do some deep breathing. And yes, blame it on period pain and say you need some time alone.

It will hurt, but it's nothing you won't get through. Please remember that loads of women go through this all the time and you'll be ok.

ElectricTonight · 20/05/2020 11:33

@Password17 it's completely normal to be scared, the woman who told you it's like giving birth was wrong to say that. It's more period pain achey. You will be ok, just rest as much as you can x

Hex2020 · 20/05/2020 11:33

Please try not to worry OP. I've had two medical terminations. The first one was more painful but I was further along, I think 8/9 weeks. The second one 6 weeks. Having said that it's honestly nothing you can't cope with and as far as comparing it to actual birth, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!

I would recommend just lying down and resting, don't try to be too active, just give the medication chance to take effect.

The first time I think it started within about two hours, the second time it took more like 8 hours. The second time the pain was moderate, nothing to be worried about at all.

It's the fear of the unknown but honestly you will be fine. Take the painkillers and have a hot water bottle ready Thanks

Password17 · 20/05/2020 11:41

@LonginesPrime so true about the online reading! I think it was just to give some sort of expectation and was looking for some kind of reassurance but defo duly noted. I've downloaded "calm" and a breathing app just to help me to relax!
@ElectricTonight yeah grateful I'm off work during this lockdown so I can properly relax and not stress about taking time off etc. Well I'm actually working from home but it's very different to my usual role and I can catch up with tasks after this is done so that makes me grateful

@Hex2020 I dont know why she told me that it was the nurse from MS so I just took it as fact although she did say she'd never had one

Thank you ladies. Right I'm going to try to relax before these next pills! Xxx

Thinking of you, it's normal to be scared but you can do this! When I had my medical, the cramping started about an hour after I took the tablets. I won't lie, it's painful, but not constant, comes in waves. My bleeding was quite heavy, with a few clots towards the end (tmi -sorry), took a few hours and then light bleeding for a few days afterwards.

My advice is play the bad period card and get a comfy set up in your room, with pain relief and apply heat seems to help.

Good luck, you will get through this Thanks

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 20/05/2020 11:51

No experience op but just wanted to say I hope you are ok, new strong, you can do this, everything crossed for you that it's over quickly Flowers

SunnyDays3 · 20/05/2020 11:59

@password17 good luck, I’m gona be going through this at the weekend and like u I’m petrified 😓

Winnie20 · 20/05/2020 12:13

Thanks @Password17

Hex2020 · 20/05/2020 12:40

No that's terrible that she said that, very misinformed. Especially if she's never actually had a termination!

Password17 · 20/05/2020 13:21

@SunnyDays3 I know hopefully we get through it okay.

@Hex2020 I know she knew I was worried aswell.

Girls I've just taken them around half an hour ago. Took them buccally but I dont feel like they dissolved slot after 30mins were still quiet big. They defo did soften and were a bit chalky tho. I swallowed with water after 30mins as it said to. I dont know if I'm overthinking but is it okay for them to stay quiet big?? I called MS and they were busy only spoke to a man who said he takes bookings and will get someone to call back. I said not to worry I will wait the 3 hours and see if I bleed. Just want to know so if not I can take the last two properly if i dont bleed

OP posts:
Password17 · 20/05/2020 13:21

dissolved alot*

OP posts:
Winnie20 · 20/05/2020 14:15

The information I’ve been given is you are fine to swallow with water if they’ve not dissolved within 30 minutes and to still have the other 2 3-4 hours later. Hope you’re ok Flowers

ElectricTonight · 20/05/2020 14:15

That's ok @Password17 hope all goes well x

QuidcoQueen · 20/05/2020 14:43

Just checking in. Hope you're ok. Xx

Password17 · 20/05/2020 15:12

Yeah I think maybe I'm a bit dehydrated I havent been drinking tooo much to avoid throwing up. I will drink more before taking the next two if I need them (hoping i won't)

Thank you girls so so so much. Like i cannot tell u how touched I am. I have no one around me but u have all made me feel so cared for

OP posts:
SunnyDays3 · 20/05/2020 15:28

Password17 · 20/05/2020 15:34

Not yet, stomach cramps but that's all. Will need to take it again in around 15mins. I've been using the stopwatch on my phone

OP posts:
Password17 · 20/05/2020 15:58

Just taken second set. I am praying these work as my mind is going crazy thinking what if nothing happens. I called MS she said u can keep it longer than 30mins and if no bleeding happens again to call them tomorrow. I just want this process done tbh

OP posts:
SunnyDays3 · 20/05/2020 16:17

SunnyDays3 · 20/05/2020 16:31
