I'm 39 and 4+4 at the minute. I have only been with my bf 5 weeks and unfortunately got pregnant the first time we slept together. He knows and is being supportive as he can be. I'm booked in on 29th for 1st pill and back on 30th for 2nd lot. I'm so scared of the pain and bleeding . So many horror stories online. I know this is the right decision ut im so so terrified. Can anyone help shed some light on this..... help me settle my mind. X

Would u eat in morning or not

Yes you can eat, I was told little and often rather than big meals. I wouldn't worry about being by yourself for three hours, just make sure you've got what you need in easy reach. Will be thinking of you today.

scotl66 · 30/12/2014 09:01

I'm not. Just the travel back

scotl66 · 30/12/2014 15:43

Thank u. On 2nd train. Um going to get taxi from station home to get home quicker. Either that or I have to wait another 30 min for train. It's about 80 mins since I took pills. Gums and throat hurt and burping a lot. Pain has ramped up a bit every now n then. Almost like when you skin gets nipped but from the inside. Not constantly but definitely there.

I didn't start bleeding for several hours, so fingers crossed you are fine to get home too. I remember the gums burning, that was just horrible.

One tip for tonight, as the bleeding may be heavy while you're trying to sleep. Put towels under your bedsheet, as they move around less like that. But also fold a hand towel or tea towel into about quarters and tuck it between your knickers and your shorts/PJs so there is quite a lot of towel going down your thighs. It feels weird but I felt a lot more comfortable like that, as I knew I had a lot of padding there to soak up any heavy bleeding during the night.

Also, did you get given antibiotics to take in a day or so? They made me feel really rubbish, so it might be worth getting some probiotics for that.

Hope you feel ok x

Will do. If this is all it comes to......I may be speaking to early but if this is it then this is just like a really bad period.

How are you getting on Scott?? Been reading the thread with interest - im booked in for surgical option in 2 weeks time. Absolutely petrified. Hope tonight isn't too bad for you. Keep us posted. Thinking of you x

scotl66 · 31/12/2014 00:03

Hey mummy. The surgical option scared the life out of me more than medical. This has been nothing like ANYONE has put on the forums. Yes you can feel the clots coming out but no more than the ones I get each month. Yes it hurts but no more than the bad periods. Have I been sick....nope not once. I'd recommend travelling in car instead of train. I was fine till I stood up and I felt it come out. That was initial clot and it was biggest so prob the sac but at just over 5 weeks .... It was just a big bloody blob. Marie stopes clinic were amazing. Very friendly. They saw me fast cause my situation.... half an hour before my appointment time so I could get better train connections. They have provided me with a new mini pill for myself too. Anti biotic. ..... 2 pregnancy tests. You aLl saw how much I've worried over the last while and I swear on my heart of hearts.... don't worry ever about the medical option. It doesn't taste amazing.....worst part about it is how sore my mouth is. Still bleeding but I feel euphoric

I am glad you made it home safely, hope the rest of your first night was ok.

thisisnow · 31/12/2014 10:45

Glad your okay Scot look after yourself the next few days.

For what it's worth I had the surgical option (asleep) and I was fine, just incase anyone gets scared reading this Sad

scotl66 · 31/12/2014 10:55

Yeah im hardly bleeding. Had to get up once in night but again no more than a first night period. Legs a bit sore n tum but I'm fine.

scotl66 · 03/01/2015 02:39

Well bless that I wasn't bleeding g a lot 31st and 1st but today I was n now in quite a bit of pain. Breast pain has changed fro. On fire to normal tenderness and no sices. I think all symptoms have changed but won't know for another 3 n half weeks when take pregnancy test.

OP posts:
RandomBob · 03/01/2015 19:45

How are you feeling now Scot? The wait to take a pregnancy test is definitely frustrating, I've got another 10 days before I can take my test, am really hoping for a negative result.

LotsaDots · 03/01/2015 19:54

I had one many years ago, I had a lot of pain but the girl in the next bay was fine, so we're all different. I had pethidine for the pain and anti sickness injection. I slept through it after the medication, it took 6 hours in all and after it was over I felt fine physically. Good luck with it and just take it as it comes. The nurses will sort out any pain type problems as they happen
