I've just discovered I am 5.5 weeks pregnant.

In the last 2 years I have had 2 mcs and our dd2 was stillborn at term.

So I don't feel like I fit into the antenatal threads, and don't want to frighten anyone with my experiences.

Anyone else out there who needs a gentle thread?

Just an update; had my scan today, all was fine. It was so nice to finally see my baby at this stage, it was wriggling around my edd is 4th August.

Excellent news KCoffin! Very pleased for you.

Off to Rome at the weekend for a few days then got my scan on Friday 5th when I get back - feeling quite anxious, hope all's ok. Still can't decide whether to find out the sex or not - think we will just make a snap decision when we're in there!
Work's crazy & trying to sort a new mortgage, buy a new property etc whilst working full time & juggling 5 million other things is hard going - looking forward to a nice break from it all next week!

Hope everyone else is doing well - where is everyone?? Hope all's good xx

woollyjo · 26/01/2010 20:25

Still here Onebaby, trying to avoid the demons

  • I'm very jealous of your trip, have a wonderful time. Have you found somewhere to buy yet?

OneBabyPlease · 27/01/2010 18:18

Yes Woolly! Had an offer accepted on a new place this week, got a solicitor, mortgage arranged, survey pending etc - it's all systems go! Really hope it all goes smoothly & we get in there soon. I'll keep you updated! I am beyond exhausted, work's busy, I'm not sleeping as my mind can't switch off & I've got SO much to do every day. DH is a bit useless as he's foreign & can't sort much of this stuff out so it's all on my shoulders which is the last thing I could do with really! But we'll get there in the end I hope!!
Really getting scared about my scan next week - SO hope everything's ok. Got this far which is fab (I'm 20 wks on Saturday), just really hope it's good news all the way now wood!.
Hope those demons are being kept at bay! xx

woollyjo · 29/01/2010 14:39

Great news Onebaby, we moved into this place 4 weeks before dd was born - don't underestimate how much energy it takes to get up and down the stairs at that stage! recruit any help you can!

My dh is rubbish at that sort of stuff too and he is from the UK so doesn't even have a good excuse!

You won't be reading this yet so as you are off in Rome - it is alternately blizzard and sunshine here today - really odd.

Take carexx

Morning all - how are you this week?

OP posts:
kcoffin27 · 01/02/2010 11:23

Hi woolyjo I am ok thanks however had a bad headache all week, went to the docs and my bp was 135/79 which he said was normal. However at my booking in the midwife said 111/80 was high. I still have the headache How are you doing? I was hoping the sickness would ease off by now, but it's getting worse.

woollyjo · 01/02/2010 12:04

I get stonking headaches in early pg - it may be the raging hormones, possibly caffine withdrawl if you are a tea addict like me and trying to cut back. I try drinking loads of fruit tea but then I need to wee (even) more!

A good excuse for a rest if you get the chance.

Take carexx

Hi All,
Sorry I've been away for a while. Sometimes I just don't seem to have any words. I think this pregnancy is more emotionally draining than I had even expected it to be. I have had lots of appointments and met the consultant who will be doing my section and we have a set date (its all booked which is quite scarey) for the 7th May. So 13 weeks on friday, all being well.
I am praying that time will speed up until then. I just want this baby out here and screaming...

Woolly, see that you have found out that you are having another little girl. I'm really pleased for you.

Anyway, will try to pop on a bit more regularly.

rx

woollyjo · 02/02/2010 09:19

Hi Mrs - nice to hear from you - I had a little flutter of excitement when I saw you had a date!

I won't see my consultant again until 18th March (28wks) but hoping to have an induction date then - likely to be the last week of May I think.

I've been planning little trips and things to pad out these last 17 weeks to give myself something else to focus on.

Had another no-movement panic on Sunday and ended up at maternity so they could listen in. They are all very good but I do feel like a bit of a numpty when the hb is there and fine.

Hello ladies,

Hope you're all keeping well?

So, here I am again, got my BFP yesterday after having a MC in December.

Am a little apprehensive, haven't told anyone yet as was only 6 weeks last time.

I have no idea really how far I am as haven't had AF since the MC (silly not to wait I know!). Clearblue tells me I'm 2-3 weeks, so I'm guessing I am 4-5 weeks by what should have been LMP.

I hope this one sticks............

Just been looking through the thread (not much of interest on telly tonight). I've realised that some ladies who posted at the start of this thread may have had their babies by now - hope all went ok.

Hi all - back from Rome after a fab trip - it was really lovely. Forgot to take your restaurant recommendations though Mrs - was gutted as we struggled to find anywhere decent to eat that wasn't stupidly expensive. Paid 8 euros for a coffee in one place! Was wicked though, the sights are SO impressive, loved it.
On to slightly more important things - had my scan yesterday - all fine & it's a boy!! Didn't mind either way as long as it's ok but at least we can plan what we're gonna buy a bit better now - we nearly didn't find out! All feels pretty real now!
Hope you're all doing well xx

woollyjo · 06/02/2010 19:23

Glad you had a great time Onebaby - a boy!now to start haggling over names.

OP posts:
OneBabyPlease · 10/02/2010 17:47

Luckily we'd already agrred to call him after my husband's Dad if it was a boy - it was girls names we were fighting over so one less thing to worry about!

It's gone really quiet on here lately, hasn't it? I really hope everyone else is doing ok & have just felt confident enough to b*gger off to an ante-natal thread! That will never be me - just won't believe this actually happening for real until he's breathing in my arms.
I hope you're doing ok too Woolly - my hormones are all over the place & I'm so emotional, I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you, Mrs, Lunatic & others who've suffered such devastating loss. Hope you're in a good place at the moment xx

allstarsprincess · 10/02/2010 18:16

Hello all,

Just to let you know things are fine with me. I have been lurking but not posting. Had an anomoly scan last week (at 14.5 weeks, not 20) early due to other issues with previous pregnancies. Also found out it is a boy! We have another anomoly lined up for a couple of weeks but I am starting to feel that these are a formality now rather than a requirement.

I am really excited. All starting to seem real. Still nervous but much less so.

Glad you are all well.

whirleywoo72 · 10/02/2010 18:34

i am 37, and 8 wks pregnant, i have 3 children already, all teenagers, and after my youngest who is 14, i had 4 consecutive misscariages, and really not enjoying this bit of the pregnancy, im not sleeping, and when i go the loo i expect to see blood, i dont do any heavy lifting anymore cos of my job, and rest with my feet up as much as pos.I had 2 of my children in warrington, 1 in the old unit and 1 in the new unit, i found them happy, and always go for a normal delivery and what you want.am i being stupid, or just enjoy it, if it happens it happens. Phew! thought it was just me here for a while .... Hi Whirleywoo welcome aboard.

We've got our names sorted too, we are using them at home as dd was getting this baby mixed up with Niamh, however today she told me that until she comes out she is just a baby!

Big hugs Lunatic think I've shaken my cloud off for now hope you are getting on ok.

Great news about a little boy allstar hope you start to feel some wriggles before too long - I love that bit (feel free to remind me of this when I am complaining of being up all night with a dancing baby later on).

ALH28 & Kcoffin how are you both getting on?

Take care everyone

Hurrah - some posts! How exciting! Thought it was just me & you here for a while Woolly!! Whirly - welcome - just roll with it - all very difficult & confusing after miscarriages & even now at almost 22 weeks I have never once been to the toilet without checking for blood. It's just automatic. I do believe if it's meant to be it's meant to be - all you can do is look after yourself & nature will do the rest. Good luck.

Allstar - great news, congratulations - hope it all goes smoothly. I am also feeling such a mixture of nerves & excitement. Am feeling lots of movements now & the last couple of days I can see my tummy move a bit as he's wriggling around - it's an amazing feeling that I never thought I'd have to be honest.

Lunatic - great to hear from you & pleased you've got a referral. Keep your chin up - sending you lots of positive sticky bean vibes! Good luck xx
