I've just discovered I am 5.5 weeks pregnant.

In the last 2 years I have had 2 mcs and our dd2 was stillborn at term.

So I don't feel like I fit into the antenatal threads, and don't want to frighten anyone with my experiences.

Anyone else out there who needs a gentle thread?

OneBaby - They should be able to hear the heart today. It is pretty overwhelming when you have so much care and then it dwindles off.

Just to let you all know. My booking in was lovely. I could hear the midwives discussing me before they called me through. When I was finally called they had obviously read my notes and were really sympathetic to what has happened. It was great to have such a non-judgemental listener who genuinely was concerned for DH and I. Next step is Sunday.

Slowly but surely ladies eh!?

woollyjo · 08/01/2010 12:48

HI allstar, glad your booking in went well my MW also delivered Niamh so it was nice but also hard to be able to discuss the impacts of her birth with this one with someone who was actually there. This time round I've found most HCPs have been very good with the exception of the practice nurse who was giving me flaky advice on morning sickness (hello, this is my 5th pregnancy)and the sonographer who commented ' you look a bit worried' when we walked in for our dating scan - even I could see the red lettered stillbirth warning directly under my name on the computer screen!

Onebaby - Understand completely what you mean. I saw a GP at 6 weeks, had a ruck of scans and then nothing for 2 months - won't see the GP again until 24 weeks.

Not feeling pg at the moment - should I be relieved that I am not exhausted & nauseous or worried? I mentioned it to a friend who told me I certainly looked pg - thanks, think that's mostly down to chocolate.

my pains have gone now, was told it was probably indigestion. Cant wait for my 12 week scan when are you all due? I am unsure as not sure on dates as didn't get a period after erpc, but i was 9 weeks and 6 days on tuesdays scan.

OneBabyPlease · 08/01/2010 16:06

Allstar - pleased mw was lovely & booking in went ok, good luck with the rest of the week.

Woolly - I don't feel pg at the moment either which was why I was fretting a bit - just got back from GP & heard the heartbeat loud & clear so feeling quite reassured. 4 weeks today until next my next scan so heartbeat should keep me going for a while I hope! Are you going to find out the sex at your next one or wait? At times of fretting eat more chocolate!

KCoffin - so pleased your pains turned out to be nothing to worry about - such a panicky time isn't it?

I'm due 19th June but will be having a C-section on the 12th probably (my Mum's b'day - she's very excited!).

mrsrvc · 08/01/2010 17:35

Hi All,
Woolly glad you are feeling movements now - not long now til your next scan.
Kcoffin - welcome - glad the pains have all gone.
Allstars - Glad that your booking was good, It makes such a difference.
One baby - I would definatley get a good guide book ( we had the lonely plannet guide to rome) as otherwise you will get TOTALLY lost! Totally understand that feeling at about 16- 18w where you feel better, but feel anxious because you feel better. Thats why we paid for an extra scan!

Well consultant this morning was a bit of a shambles. Firstly I was sent in to see the registrar who didn't have a clue why I was there. When I told her she organised for me to see the actual consultant.
However the stand in for my original consultant is not going to continue care once the original is back and as such she thinks it would be best for me to have a different consultant altogether, based on a specified date for my section so that we can avoid all of Bertie's dates. SO I am going to see the new consultant on the 20th January. I also have a tentative date for my section which will be May 7th. Suddenly seems quite scary.

kcoffin27 · 08/01/2010 18:22

HI all,
glad to see everyone is ok.
ONEBABYPLEASE - it is such a panicky time for all of us, wish the 12 weeks would just go so quickly, hate the 12 weeks of worrying over the slightest pain. Im also having a c-section as I have already had 2, so have to have another. Im due the end of july beginning of august.

MRSRVC- I hate it when you get messed about by consultants, I waited nearly 2 hours to see mine (due to having all the m/cs) only for her to then say as im 10 weeks she will discharge me. So I was in and out within a minute.

OneBabyPlease · 11/01/2010 22:16

Hey all - just checking in to say Hello - nothing really to report.

I'm going to a funeral tomorrow which is pretty cr*p but at least I'll get to see my parents who live about 300 miles away

Hope everyone's doing ok?
I'm alright, got a few days off work which is quite relaxing.

Bump is definitely getting bigger & none of my 'normal' clothes fit anymore - thank god leggings are cool at the moment!! Am living in them & my skinny maternity jeans! (Think the jeans are the only bit of me that can be referred to as skinny! )

Think my little apple pip is at last becoming a Granny Smith! Hurrah!
Take care everyone x

woollyjo · 12/01/2010 10:33

Hi,

After saying I was definately getting movements I then had a few days when I couldn't feel any added to the not feeling very pg anymore I started to get concerned. So on Sat I rang the MWs and went up to the hospital who put a doppler on me and all was fine followed by baby having the wriggliest 24hrs ever!. Wondering if this is how the next 19 weeks are going to be. I'm not a worrier by nature but starting to think that is all changing.

OP posts:
OneBabyPlease · 13/01/2010 19:09

So pleased everything's ok Woolly - I think this whole process is enough to make anyone a worrier but it's so much harder when there's prior trauma involved. The next 19 weeks are going to be full of ups and downs. Good luck with it all & try not to stress - at least you've got some reassurance to keep you going for a little bit xx

duchesse · 14/01/2010 11:35

Just dropping by (from the August 2009 thread, WJ, was very shocked when your little girl was stillborn as had been also lurking on the July thread) to wish you all all the best and to say I hope that your pregnancy/ies will be as peaceful as is possible.

woollyjo · 18/01/2010 09:06

Off for my anomaly scan ... trying to remember to breath....

Good luck today Woolly.
Let us know how it goes

woollyjo · 18/01/2010 13:50

Scan was fine, got a bit freaked out by the ammount of time the consultant spent looking at baby's organs but she was just being thorough. Baby had a great heap of umbilical cord in its lap so no chance of discovering the gender so have booked a private gender scan for sat (we have always found out, I think it helps DH bond a bit before baby is born).

Phew

How are the rest of you doing?

OP posts:
OneBabyPlease · 18/01/2010 17:23

Great news re scan Woolly!!
Pleased it all went well, shame you couldn't see what it was but I guess it doesn't really matter as long as everything looked fine.

I'm ok - looking a pregnant now instead of just fat which is quite nice!

It's all gone very quiet on here lately - is everyone ok?? Hope so xx

kcoffin27 · 18/01/2010 19:07

Hi all, just giving an update. I have my 12 weeks scan next tuesday, but I will be 13 weeks. Cant wait Glad to see that everyone is ok. My clothes are starting to get too tight now, just look fat though.

Thanks for the good wishes ladies.

I hope you are not feeling too rough Kcoffin - I'll be looking forwards to hear how you got on.

Hi Lunatic - still pushing on. Had a grey cloud follow me about for the last week or so, I can't seem to shake it off, find it really exhausting too.

OMG
I'm back ladies.
Have just done a test and got a bfp!!!
I have been feeling grotty for a few days now and my boobs are massive, telltale sign for me is not being able to stomach coffee I usually drink gallons of it.
Feeling a bit daft as we had not planned this and am currently having tests for recurrent miscarriages.
So feeling fairly numb at the moment, have'nt even told dh yet, don't think I will for a little while yet.
Will ring epu tomorrow and get their advice as what to do now.
Glad to read that you are all doing well and bumps are coming along nicely.
tc x

OneBabyPlease · 20/01/2010 18:15

Congratulations Hairy - welcome back!
So pleased for you - it does always happen when you're least expecting it!
Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly for you xx

woollyjo · 20/01/2010 19:03

Congratulations Hairy! great to have you back.

OP posts:
kcoffin27 · 20/01/2010 21:37

woolyjo - im not too bad thanks, been feeling sick all day today. wish it was tuesday already, time goes so slow

congratulations hairy - this pregnancy was also not planned as was waiting on tests for recurrent m/c as I have had 6. Had an erpc in october and was going to go back on the pill, however didnt get a period and was shocked to find out I was expecting again Fingers crossed that all goes well for you, and for everyone else

I went to the doc's friday as I keep having anxiety attacks, she said it's expected after all I been through, she tried to hear heartbeat but couldn't find it. I was 11 weeks and she said it's probably too early. Now want tuesday to hurry up for my scan (im already 12 weeks) to reassure me all is ok.

peanutpie · 21/01/2010 11:13

Hello,

I think I can finally start admitting that I am pregnant. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow so I've got through the early bit. This pregnancy has followed on immediately from a mc in October (also had a few more in the past) so I feel like I've been holding my breath for the last couple of months.

On top of that last week I got a 1 in 5 risk of abnormalties and have been through the hell of that. I had a CVS which gave the results that the baby is fine in the end.

It's been a hellish time! I feel like I need a 2 week beach holiday to recover (but 2 yr old won't allow that!) But I'm trying now to accept that I might actually be having a baby, hence this message.

OneBabyPlease · 21/01/2010 19:08

Peanut - welcome & congratulations! The last week sounds hugely stressful but such a good outcome - hope the rest of the ride is a smooth one for you!

KCoffin - hope Tuesday comes round quickly for you! Good luck & let us know how it all goes.

We've had an offer accepted on a new house & it's all systems go! All quite stressful but I hope it all goes smoothly & we get in there soon!

Hope everyone else is good too xx

woollyjo · 21/01/2010 19:12

Hi Peanutpie,

Congratulations, great to have you here. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and still feel ridiculous making plans for baby's arrival.

Hope this ride goes smoothly from here on in.
